2/15/25 Update: I asked MUA, Maggie, to create for me a glam look fit for a fancy event. I wanted soft, sultry eyes with an accentuated lash and a bold red lip. Maggie Delivered! The makeup made me feel like a Hollywood starlet. I posted a pic and video of the makeup freshly done. And I also posted two pics of this makeup after wearing it out for over six hours, through eating and drinking. It still looks gorgeous! I also bought Maggies's one-on-one makeup lesson. She taught me how to create this look on myself and broke the lesson down into well organized, very easy to understand segments. She educated me on tools, products, application techniques, and skin prep for makeup ... all tailored to my unique facial features and skin type! So I feel confident in my ability to do this makeup on myself at home and have it look great on me. It's hard to write this review without getting a bit teary eyed. I had a MAJOR disaster at another salon that left my hair literally falling out and breaking. My cut and color were good for a circus act. My friend was a client of Jamie and recommended I see her. Jamie literally saved me from 2 months of embarrassment and looking like a clown. She cut off the damage, did a root melt, actually toned my hair to an ashy light brown, and even did the toner again to get it just right. Jamie's story is she had a personal experience with a bad hair color, and this inspired her to become a stylist. Jamie is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL. She's beautiful, warm, funny, patient, understanding, and a perfectionist. I literally walked in wearing a hat and pins to keep my damaged hair up, and left looking great. If you are looking for someone to do incredible cuts and superb color, I cannot recommend a stylist more than Jamie. Bonus: there's plentiful parking in the lower garage. I was having such a difficult time finding someone who was reliable and affordable for my wedding hair/make up (other places were ridiculously expensive or impossible to get a hold of). This review is long overdue because Maggie and her salon deserve all the glowing reviews they can get. I booked Maggie for my wedding in August 2013 and it was one if the best wedding decisions I made. A friend recommended Maggie for my wedding day hair & make-up. I first emailed her with a bunch of questions and she replied right away, telling me to give her a call so we could chat. After discussing what I wanted done, I booked my trial for the following week. I brought a bunch of photos of what I wanted done during the trial and Maggie was able to get done it with ease. And her work on the wedding day was just as wonderful! She arrived on time to the hotel to do hair & make-up on myself, my mom and two of my bridesmaids. She is super productive and had everyone done right on time. Aside from being a true make-up genius, her prices are reasonable (some of the best I found in the area!) and her personality and professionalism is top notch as well. Update: I just got a spray tan here.. check out my pic! Everyone keeps on thinking I lost weight.. they are like "something's different, you look HOT!" lol I'm getting married in 2 short months. In an attempt to save a few bucks, I went to several Mac and Nordstrom counters in Palo Alto and San Mateo, trying to find a counter girl who could do my make-up for the big day. I was never satisfied with what I got. So, after some Yelp research, I called up Maggie and her assistant answered right away and we booked a consultation for the following week. I parked on the street but there was also an underground parking lot for visitors to access the building. Her studio is on the 2nd floor, so take the stairs up and you'll find it. Maggie is fun, personable, and great at what she does. I was sold after my consultation without any pressure at all. I grew up with a mom who ran a salon, and I have a decent idea of how much work it is to run your own place. Maggie makes it look easy. She's an absolute boss and I have so much respect for the incredible business she has built. Her staff is so kind, and not in that "customer service"/"how can I help you" kind of way, but her staff is just SO genuinely friendly. For the most recent visit, I called asking for an appointment on their voicemail. Someone called me back a short while later, and I was asking for a spot on short notice. They got me scheduled for the very next day, and they didn't make me feel like I was an inconvenience or being a pain for asking. When I showed up for my appointment, I was greeted kindly and welcomed with great hospitality. I noticed the salon when I lived in RWC a few years ago, but it was when I saw one of my friend's hair after a visit to Glammface that I was sold. I had virgin hair until I was 29, so I had no clue what I was doing. I had been going to a chain salon for over a year, never realizing the huge difference experience and individualized service makes for my hair. I found out the importance of a good salon when Maggie did my hair for the first time and now I'll likely need to shave my head if she ever decides to leave the industry. My hair is very long, very thick, and I'm clueless about color and what works best for my hair. Consistently, Maggie asks me what I want, what I like, and then offers me her suggestions but lets me choose. It's a small and meaningful part of the process, but it makes all the difference. Finally after 3 longs years of debate I had Jenn give me extensions. She convinced me into clip ins a few years ago, picked out the perfect shade and great quality. I fell in love with the clip ins but it was time to have them in for good. Jenn did a high light and extension add in and I'm sitting here wondering why I haven't had this for years! I don't do it for length, but to keep my hair thick and curled when I want it. My BIIIIGGGGESSSTT fear was that they wouldn't look natural, that you would see what's real and what's fake. No way! Having moved west, I was searching for a new hair colorist/stylist. My first try with a stylist was less than desirable so I setup a consultation with Maggie after to get her point of view. I had higher expectations from this beauty salon, but this place was just OKAY. The two ladies seemed nice, but not professional at all. I had an appointment here to do my hair styling and makeup for a bridal event. I was a bridesmaid at a wedding and was excited to find a place with good reviews near me. The hair styling and makeup were rushed and was lazy work. I initially wanted a simple half up half down hairstyling with volume and a braid. I showed maggie and the other hairstylist a picture of what I expected my hair to look like. After my hair was done, the braid was messy and thin and had zero volume. There were a lot of flyaways and some loops were sticking out on one side and it didn't even look even. The top was also completely flat and was never teased or anything for volume like the picture that was shown. I asked her to fix it and she fixed it to the best of her ability and said "That's just your hair" lol I knew it wasn't just my hair because I have done this same hairstyle in the past and looked nothing like what was done. She handed me a mirror so I could see the back of my hair, and I thought it looked fine after being fixed, but definitely looked like something I could do on my own. After I got home, I realized they had not curled all of my hair evenly. There were still straight strands all underneath and around my hair!! I quickly grabbed my curling iron and started curling the strands of hair that she missed. Moving on to the makeup... it could have been a lot better as well. I am not a professional, but there were things that I didn't like and asked maggie to fix. She fixed it but was not in her best mood. When I walked out of the salon, I thought the makeup looked fine in the mirror after being fixed. However, when I stepped outside, I realized there were a lot of flaws in my makeup but was too late to go back and ask her to fix it. The biggest flaw was that the foundation did not match my body. It was extremely orange. My eyeliner was still uneven and my eyeshadow wasn't properly blended. Therefore, I went home and re-touched my makeup AND hair which took up more time. I would never recommend this place to someone. read more

I had her to my hair (including putting extensions in) and my make-up. I left her studio feeling like a princess! I had her and one of her co-workers do all the hair and makeup for my wedding (6 in total). They came and met us at the Fairmont and did an amazing job! All the women in my wedding party are very opinionated and different. I wanted them all the have a side pony, and subtle eyes. They accomodated my wishes but also listened to the girls so they could all have a unique look, feel like them selves while still sticking to what I asked for. First let me say that my daughter NEVER puts on make up, but as a mom who loves make up I was blown away by the transformation! My daughter suffers from acne which I thought I was going to have to pay for her pictures to be retouched to clear up any blemishes, but Maggie did such an awesome job that it was not necessary. For you high school ladies her make up rates may be a little high but I can tell you that it will be worth every penny!!!! I like that she is honest about what she thinks may or may not look good on us. She also always has great suggestions to improve our hair. One thing about her - she wants you walking out of the salon satisfied with your cut and she goes above and beyond to achieve that.
