The whole manicure lasted 16 minutes - there were no products, creams or warm water used, two coats of nail polish were applied so sloppily that they look streaky and were applied so thick and so carelessly that they are now bubbling over. My first experience at this salon was wonderful. I had gotten SNS nails in NYC and came here on my way home to have new polish put on. The woman who helped me was kind, efficient, and made my nails look great. Unfortunately, my second visit left my nails in the weakest state they've ever been and months later I struggle with weak nails that break at the simplest things, like this morning when my nail broke in half after bumping against a Tupperware container. During my second visit, I came in to have the SNS polish removed that they had put on. The woman I had gone to originally was busy so they assigned me with another woman who I don't think had any idea what she was doing. She did the standard wrapping of my nails with remover, but when the polish wouldn't come off, she started filing down my nails with the electric file. She filed some of my nails so hard that you could see where my nail bed had started to bleed. To this day, I can see the scars she left on my nails and the indentations where she filed too hard. Since then my nails have been in horrible condition. They split and break easily which has never been a problem of mine. I hope that as they grew out, their condition would improve but it's taken much longer than anticipated. The moral of my story is this - only go to someone who you know and trust when it comes to your nails. read more

I had been dipping in and out of this place for the last two years, and now that I have moved back, they have my business for sure! I absolutely LOVE Van. She is meticulous, and is always willing to do whatever it is I need. I went there yesterday and explained to her that I had gone to another place to get ombré acrylic nails, and the acrylic allowed water to get under it and form that green fungus...which I was pissed and disgusted at! She explained to me that I just need to keep using the gel powder and let it grow out. Now I went in wanting a red tip, but couldn't get that because the dark part of my nail hadn't grown out enough. So Van explained what she could do instead to still somewhat get the results I was looking for. I was elated that she didn't just try to make me color my entire nail, and was willing to help me! I got my eyebrows waxed at glamorous nails and from the very start I emphasized to the tech to keep them big, natural and to not make them thin. When I looked in the mirror after she finished I was horrified that she completely ignored my instructions and made them super thin. I told her immediately afterwards that I was not happy at all with the result but she kept insisting that she did not remove a lot I spent $112 on services but they refused to remove $12 for the botched eyebrow job and decided to only give me a $2 discount. I called the store immediately after leaving at 6:45 on Friday 1/8/2020 and a guy answered the phone claiming to be the manager but refused to give me his name. He insisted that I was wrong for not being happy with the two dollar discount and that this was "good enough". I explained that $2 does not make up for my botched eyebrows which I now had to grow out for the next month but he proceeded to argue with me over the $12 refund that I was asking for because according to him it was "not good" and "not fair" on my part. He also accused me of not expressing my dissatisfaction at the store which was not true (hence the $2 discount). Despite his ugly tone, I was talking to him in a respectful manner but he decided to hang up the phone in my face when I disagreed with his arguments. I called back but he sent my number to voicemail. I called a third time when he finally answered simply to let him know that he is welcome to keep the money but I'd be posting a review of my first time experience there. Their cleanliness is also not the best which is scary during covid. They don't use disposable paper on the waxing table and the tech did not wipe it down after we used it. The little hand fans on the stations were full of dust and they don't use bags in the pedicure bowls. They DO NOT ask you to sanitize or wash your hands upon entering the salon but dip your fingers directly into the sns powder container. I usually don't write reviews but I had to share my experience in case it helps someone avoid this place. There are better options for sure read more

So I really wanted to give this place more stars because when I went in for service I was very happy. I got a gel manicure and my nails looked great. I got them done on 12/12/18. Cut to a week and a day later (12/20) and I noticed that my polish had a crack in it. I figured, okay, I will go in the next day and get it fixed. I call them to see if they can see me to fix the nail. It is one nail, the person who picked up the phone said, okay, we will fix but come in at 7pm. It is barely 11am when I call. You are really going to make me wait all that time to get one nail fixed. Umm no, that is horrible customer service. It will take maybe 10 minutes at most to fix my nail. I'm extremely disappointed. Save your money, go somewhere else. Gel polish should not chip this quickly. They are clearly trying to save money by thinning out the polish, that is the only explanation for the polish to chip so quickly. I have had 10 gel polish manicures. Normally I can go 3 weeks before it even starts to chip. I know this because a lot of time I don't get back into a nail salon until well after I need to. read more

Glamorous is my go to!! I've been going to this salon for about a year now. I was a little hesitant when they changed management earlier this year, but VAN is my girl. She gets my nails, feet, and brows right every two weeks! I'm constantly getting compliments on my full sets and I've referred numerous people to her. The entire staff is warm and friendly. They are a bit pricey but most places are in the Rockville area. However, my gel acrylic manicure lasts me a good 3 weeks so I definitely get my money's worth! Tom & Van always get my nails together every two weeks. They are the new owners of this salon however I followed Tom from a previous salon to this new location because he does such a great job. He takes his time to make sure it's right so if you want your nails done in a hurry go somewhere else. His wife does an amazing job as well. I'm really surprised by the quality for the price paid. $150 for eyelash. $65 for nail polish pedi & gel manicure. The eyelash starts falling off by the chunks the next day. When I went back in, they said it was because I had washed my face, which I didn't even touch my eyes. Amy touched up on eyelash but much of it fell off ripping off my own eyelashes the next day again. After further research, found it was because glue was too heavy. I think I actually have to remind her twice to watch her hands before touching my face after doing a pedicure for another customer. I made an appointment but was told to wait. I like my toenails short. The man who did my pedi didn't even ask me about length I want. When I told him I want an extra layer for one of the toes as the polish looks transparent, he said no because it'll take too long to dry and was annoyed by my request. I said I want nail polish for manicure, and the technician gave me gel because she said they lasts longer... I really hoped this place could work since location was close to home. I would give 1 star for results but 2 star due to effort to fix the eyelash issue and 1 Star for pedicure and 3 for manicure. read more

This place deserves a zero. Customer service was fine at first but went down hill. The polish being used recently is old and they put things in it to make it stretch. Your coat is then sticky and bubbles. Also since it has gotten warmer and traffic has naturally picked up they have gotten rude especially if you need something fixed that they messed up. Was a regular customer with van but after asking her to fix old sticky polish on a 35 dollar pedicure and a 45 dollar fill was asked not to return by her and the man working there. She let the man speak for her and this was after patronizing her for years. If you are spending 70 to 80 dollars regularly and something needs to be fixed that the shop messed up you shouldnt have to deal with attitudes, disrespect and rudeness, especially if its not displayed by the customer. The techno and were very nice however thier spa pedi is $65 and I agreed bc I thought it would be an more then a regular pedicure. Well it was more then a regular pedicure but not $65 I get the same treatment for $40 across the street at rio. I think the spa pedi is too much money when I get more for less at other places. OK- how it averages out to 2 stars instead of 1 Waxing- have only had my upper lip done here and they get rid of the hair cleanly and efficiently all i look for there is no hair where there was hair. Pedicure- spent more money than usual for this as my heels were dry and super cracked, and had a nice pedicure here before. Enjoyed my pedicure and it went well. Two of the employees were passed out in the chairs in the corner, but I'm not sure it was a problem so much as a comment as I was the only customer most of the time. Mani- normally this is where I spend the money, getting a gel mani, because regular manis don't last long for me as for most women. Well this was the shortest one has EVER lasted. Less than 20 min. After sitting under the dryer for about 10 minutes I made moves to leave and no one said anything. So I struggled to put on one sock, destroying the manicure in the process. The gentleman nicely touched it up. I sat back under the dryer for another 20 minutes after which he pronounced me done. He put the dryer on, and did not assist me in putting on my OTHER sock. Ruined again. At this point I just left. I"m not sure I even knew how I was feeling other than upset. Maybe its me but its been a long time since I've had a mani pedi even with gels where they don't assist you in putting on your socks and shoes if you forget flip flops. I have started to look for somewhere to go tomorrow and am afraid to take off my socks and look at my feet and see my pedicure. read more

I have been getting my nails done at Glamorous Nails in Crown for nearly two years. I stuck with them through covid and nail tech changes. After a recent visit I returned a week after my dip nails to show them that nearly every nail had either broken or had a crack soon to break. I asked that I be able to return after vacation to have them redone. No raised voice, no disrespectful exchange whatsoever. She made it clearly I would have to pay, and that they'd do $7-10 off of the $45 I would have to pay. I thought 50% would be more fair but agreed. I returned after vacation to have them redone, they issued a $10 discount, I tipped as usual, all was well. When I stopped in three weeks later to set-up my next appt, they informed me they no longer wanted my business and suggested I try another shop. I was speechless. I have never been so disrespected in in entire 50+ year life. I don't normally write reviews but decided in this case it was necessary. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

Came in with my mom to get a both gel manicure and pedis and everything was okey with the pedicures until it was time to do the fill in and I received a different technician. She was unbelievably rude bc I wasn't able to hear when she asked for a cut down and I said yes but she didn't do it and then told her I did want it, and she continued to have an attitude and just didn't seem to care. She spent an hour doing the gel manicure because she wanted to do one finger then inserting it into the UV light. I asked her to just do the whole hand and she was upset and didn't listen. She then finished my hands leaving them a mess they were very thick, not cleaned up on the sides. It was very irritating having to ask her more than once to do something differently because she wanted to do it her way. I was very upset and told them I wouldn't pay for this service and they wanted to take my nails off if I didn't want to pay. While she had a fit and argued with me. This is not how you get customers to come back. I was very disappointed in how they came out and her service, I came once before and was disappointed in the treatment, decided to give it one more chance. Never again read more
