When the vehicle was returned to me, I immediately noticed that the newly painted bumpers did not match the original color. In addition, the paint quality was substandard, with visible debris embedded in multiple areas. I even mentioned that the steering pulls to the left when driving so that needs to be corrected as well. I was advised to bring the vehicle back the following Monday so these issues could be corrected. However, when I returned as instructed, I was informed that it was a short work week due to the holidays and that rental car costs needed to be considered. I was then strongly encouraged to bring the vehicle back the following week instead. This is concerning, as I was initially led to believe that my vehicle would be prioritized once these issues were identified. Instead, I am now being asked to adjust my family's plans to accommodate business constraints, including postponing repairs and managing transportation without a rental vehicle. Had the repairs been completed correctly the first time--including proper paint matching and ensuring the steering does not pull to the left while driving--this additional inconvenience would not be necessary. I am disappointed by the lack of urgency and accountability, as well as the apparent absence of effort to put the customer first and resolve the matter promptly.

Got an email asking me to confirm. I did. Got a text later asking me to confirm. I did. The night before my appointment, I got a call from them. The lady told me, "We cannot find the glass, and also none of my techs know how to work on this older vehicle. So we're not going to be able to do the replacement." I didn't know how to respond. The premise was so ludicrous, it totally felt like a prank call. It would be funny if it wasn't so frustrating. If anything, wouldn't a windshield replacement be WAY easier on a 1990 car than with a modern car? Lots of modern cars have special features that need the new windshield to be calibrated and so forth. Mine is just glass and sealant. No calibration needed. No integrated cameras or rain sensors or lane-departure warning sensors involved. Just glass and adhesive and basic tools. Totally simple and straightforward. But whatever. I went elsewhere and got it done properly. When I arrived at the other shop (who magically had my glass in stock), I told them of my experience with Safelite. "Sounds like they just didn't want to be bothered," they told me. And yeah, that's exactly how I felt. Or, if I am to take them at their word, I guess that no one should even think of coming here if they have an older car, because Safelite in Fullerton claims that they just don't know how to replace a windshield on a car from 1990.
