It's a bit of a haul from Elmira, but whenever we're driving through Tunkhannock and they're open, we stop. At this point it's become part of the trip. The funny part is that I'm usually the one who orders something different every time we go to a restaurant. My husband is the creature of habit. At Twigs, we switch roles. He tries a different wrap or burger every visit. I don't even look at the menu anymore. The 501 Salad with rare steak and extra champagne dressing has ruined me for everything else. I know exactly what's coming, and I don't want anything different. It starts with a pear raspberry martini that tastes better than it has any right to. If someone could bottle summer without making it sweet or syrupy, this would be it. Then the salad shows up, and somewhere between the steak and the dressing you stop thinking about what else you could have ordered. By the time you've cleaned the plate, dessert feels unnecessary. Not because you're full. Because the meal already gave you what dessert is supposed to. A good restaurant makes good food. A great one makes you look forward to the drive. Twigs does that.

One Hawaiian pizza (my favorite style when I am not making it myself) and boneless Buffalo wings, which we went to pick up. His Jeep smelled great on the drive back home! The pizza was good. It wasn't the best pizza I have ever had, but it was above average. There were plenty of toppings including ham that tasted like more than pink squares. The pineapple was good too, and not too much to make the pizza soggy. The best part was the sauce though. It was spicy and hot. I don't know if they used their regular tomato sauce or something zippy for the Hawaiian pizza but I really appreciated what it brought. I like spicy sauce with this type of pizza but sadly most places don't do it this way. The boneless Buffalo wings were good too. Some pieces were really big, some really really small, but all tasted like good Buffalo sauce. They weren't too hot (spice wise) but he may have ordered them mild. A couple of hours after sitting on his table in their styrofoam box (don't judge...) they still were tasty. I can see ordering from here again in the future.

My husband's Chicken Marsala looked substantial when it arrived. I got to try a piece and it was tender and well seasoned. As for my clams, they were tender and properly cleaned. I appreciated they served the butter on the side so I could control the amount. The white wine sauce needed to be cooked out a little more as it was still sharp, but still pleasent when mixed with butter and dipped with bread. Both salads were fresh and added a nice freshness to the dinner. Throughout our dinner, our waitress checked on us once so we did run out of water so you have to be willing to ask for what you need. She was happy to refill once we spoke up. The resturant is kept on the cooler side to probably help the kitchen in the back. I would suggest to bring a light sweater or jacket so you dont get too cold. We were there around 630p on a Sunday and there were few people there. They mentioned Saturday was pretty busy so if you're looking for a slower time, Sunday might be a good option.
