Great service , atmosphere, and food . All of the boxes are checked and they go out of their way to make the perfect drink .

We were headed back to PA and wanted to see a bunch of people, and only had one day in town. My Uncle recommended we go to Coras. They have a big enough space, good food, and are reasonably priced. We had a gathering here previously, about 10 years ago when my Aunt passed. Its a nice place for large groups! We had the downstairs reserved and they set up 3 tables for the 30 of us. They have a limited menu for groups. 4 options. A turkey sandwich, a cheesesteak, fish and chips, and a salad. Most folks went with the cheesesteak and the fish and chips. I went with the fish and chips, myself. It was delicious! Pretty much a whole filet, and some curly style fries. Really tasty! Non alcoholic drinks were included, and brownie bites for dessert. It was only $20.00 a person! Had a great time visiting with everyone! The staff at Coras was great! They were on top of everything and had drinks out and food out all at the same time. We were staying at the nearby Woodloch Resort and this cafe looked cute from the outside the few times we had driven by so we stopped in for dinner. The inside was nowhere near as nice looking as the outside. Very shabby, worn walls and furniture and devoid of a welcoming typical restaurant atmosphere. Young female host was rude and cold in all interactions with us. We waited a long time after being seated to be greeted. Older female server who only had a few tables from what we could see was also rude, brusque in her conversations with us and never checked on us after the food arrived. Food was subpar and overpriced with no one enjoying it (3 children and 2 adults). The host girl was assisting the server and literally dropped plates on our table two different times. The worst dining experience I might have ever had. read more

Cora's Bistro never disappoints. I enjoy how they have a different section of the restaurant for lunch seating and open up another area for dinner. Once again, we were fortunate to have Heaven as our server. She did a magnificent job and hopefully, you'll enjoy her pleasant servitude, soon. We started with vegetarian boneless wings. They came with a spicy/honey sauce and they were very good. You didn't need a knife and they were consumed within seconds. Our mains were, as follows: Northside (Fried eggplant, tomato, provolone cheese, balsamic vinaigrette), Bacon Cheeseburger, and Cheeseburger. The sweet potato, swirly, and waffle fry accompaniments were good, as well. Cute cafe with amazing food, generous portions, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. Having driven by so many times, we decided today was the day to experience, and so glad we did. We started with crab stuffed mushrooms (6), looked so delicious we dug in before I remembered to take a picture. Prime Rib ciabatta sandwich, served with fries for me, the Chicken Cora for my husband. All the dishes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

My wife and I went to Coras on a Tuesday evening at about 6PM. We did not have a reservation but were seated immediately. About a half hour later, the place filled up with waiting at the bar. The food was excellent; the chef is very resourceful in menu selection. I had two appetizers. One was escargot in baked potato skins with blue cheese crumbles. A real treat. The second was fried oysters with roulade on the side. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and plenty on the plate. My wife had a cheeseburger and fries. The burger was soft but delicious and the fries were unusually shaped in wide curlicues and delicious. The chocolate covered cheesecake with raspberry was super. The drinks were delicious. The service was impressive with such a large crowd in a vintage old house. Kudos to the wait staff. read more

My husband and I went out to hawley for dinner to try something new. We've heard of Cora's but personally have never been. Decided to give it a try. The service wasn't bad, very nice but didn't seem super interested in serving. When we got to the menu, I had ordered the chicken francaise. As listed it is should have a wine and lemon sauce. Unfortunately it was nothing more than butter. For my husband, he was ecstatic about the wings and yuengling special. Unfortunately, the wings weren't the best and the blue cheese tasted off. Regardless of the food/service. We dont mind paying good money for great food but we were a little shocked at the price of the items on the menu. Unfortunately we will stick closer to honesdale and possibly give this restaurant a try again in the future. But for this time, we hope to see some changes for food as listed for the price. read more

Our family of 15 went to Cora's 1850 Bistro on our last evening of our poconos vacation, it did not disappoint. Large portions, reasonable prices and good service and staff. I asked for gluten free food and when I asked how it was made, the lady who answered the phone said there is no separate space for preparing the food and they use the same fryer for regular and gluten free food. I said forget it because I didn't want to get sick after eating there so I didn't place an order. I know there is a certain waitress who works there who seems to be nice only to certain people. She has a nasty attitude toward certain others. Anyone else there doesn't seem to be an issue. I have a friend who goes there often and he says the food is great but the 1 waitress gives him her attitude at times. He has actually gone elsewhere at times so he didn't have to deal with her. read more

We eat here regularly. Great food and drinks. Staff is amazing! Great value - I always have take home. Specific recommendations: Prime Rib Special is very good. Love all the sandwiches, particularly Smoked Salmon BLT, Warm Turkey and Melted Brie (homemade turkey!), North Side (Italian). Great cheesesteaks. Always get the wings! Huge pretzel appy also good. Kids love the Nachos. And the salads are always fabulous and huge. Soups all homemade and very tasty, often enough for a meal. Martinis are exceptional - try chocolate and French. This is by far the best bang for the buck in the area. Staff very friendly and helpful. A real hometown vibe. And do not forget the Peanut Butter Pie. Went to Cora's for lunch after a 3 hour drive. Promptly seated by a friendly waitress. Clean bathroom... yes! Hubby had the Rueben sandwich and I had Eggplant with fresh tomato and mozzarella. Good food and decent service. This place gets very crowded for dinner so best bet is to try lunch in my opinion. The service was fine and adequate. I don't have much to say either way - overall an average experience. I ordered a chicken cheesesteak with French Fries and a side of Mayo. When my sandwich was delivered it wasn't what I was expecting. I was thinking I was going to be disappointed. But I took a bite into the sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. The roll was very good, the meat, cheese and veggie ratio seemed right. The French Fries were good. I never did get my side of Mayo but I did get a side of ketchup. I didn't bother asking because I really didn't need it after all. I will definitely go back to Cora's. read more

Cora's is a great local option and the foo Food selection is great and good enough. However, It ends there. First off don't post on your website that you're open until 8 or 9 or whatever and then turn down customers at 7:15. During 2 other occasions we arrived around 50 min before closing and they rushed us along so badly and treated us like we were bothering them the entire dinner leaving with an uneasy feeling. Lastly atmosphere is pathetic and with all the business they receive they should renovate its disgusting. Truly disappointing since the menu has great options and the food is good. read more

We've been to Cora's several times over the years, and it's always been a nice place for a burger and a beer, until today! Our party of 4 enters and sits down in the dining area. We are the only people here, other than the half dozen or so people at the bar. We wait for what I thought was an inordinate amount of time for a waitress to come to our table. After a while, a party of three also sits down. The waitress comes right over and takes their drink order. Puzzled why the waitress is ignoring us, we continue to wait. Another couple comes in, and​ the waitress ​​immediately goes to their table and gives them menus. At this, we get up and leave. Why would someone in the service industry who lives on tips be so rude? Anyway, we went down the road to a new place we've never been before, The Watering Hole on Rt 6 (just two minutes away). We were greeted by the waitress as we walked in, promptly given menus, and our orders taken. Great burgers and a good selection of draft and bottled​ beers. So long Cora's 1850, we'll never be back. This is a nice historic house that was turned into a restaurant and bar. The food was very good. The prices are not bad for the Poconos. It is small because it was once a house. I would definitely recommend reservations in the Summer months. The table next to us ordered a giant soft pretzel appetizer and it looked so good! We have to try it next time. It's not a fancy restaurant, but if you are in to historic places this is a good place to try. It is in a housing development, so if you have a GPS I recommend you use it. read more

The color of the building caught my eye as I love purple. We were welcomed by an older woman sitting at the bar with a warm hello - and seated by the barmaid. The menu had many selections which included a drink and food specials. Knowing this meal would be a combination of lunch and dinner we ordered 2 appetizers. The crab stuffed mushrooms were incredible as was the coconut shrimp. Three adults shared the appetizers and struggled to finish them so the portions are well worth the price. The food at our hotel was way too eclectic for our taste. So a quick Yelp search brought us to this lovely place. It was a 5 minute drive from the hotel (The Settler's Inn) and has a parking lot. We were seated right away. It could've been because it was below freezing, it was the middle of January in the Poconos. They have large flatscreens and there was a football game on. The food was great. We had fried mozzarella to start off with. I'm a fan of anything dealing with cheese and is fried. I had a chicken wrap. It came with chips. The wrap was good. The portions were great for the price. I had to talk half of my food back for later. If I'm ever back in that area of the Pocono's I'll be sure to stop by for a quick bite to eat! read more

Came in and was greeted by a friendly women. Got seated in a moderately dark room and it was very loud. When we were seated and handed our menus I noticed that they were cheap paper menus. Our waitress came to our table and seemed very rushed as if she didn't want to be here. We ordered and appetizers came out very quick (the fried mozzarella), it was perfectly crispy and the cheese was very stringy. Though, I will say they had barely any flavor and needed more seasoning. Right as we finished our appetizers our dinners were out shortly after. I ordered the Caesar salad and it was not good at all. The cheese tasted as if it was not fresh and the dressing was sour.
