I live down the street so I walked up. The guy at the front desk moved beyond slow and couldn't even recommend anyone locally for a tow truck. He didn't even know what a tow truck was and he seemed lost. I know, Night Shift guys pumping gas may not know who to recommend. I got a tow after hitting google and had the car dropped off. Spoke to the owner the following day at 7. Explain the situation with my car with the ABS lights. He told me he'll look at it at some point during the day. That I just gotta give him time cause he's jammed up and to call in the afternoon to see if they had a chance to check it out. I called at 1 o'clock and a lady answer the phone told me they were just about to put the car into the bay to work on and call back in about an hour. I call back in an hour. The owner picks up and start screaming at me like a lunatic. I've never been spoken to such a way in all my years working customer service and dealing with the public; he was screaming at me so much my boss could hear him over the phone and we were looking at each other horrified. Like I told him I understand you jammed up I was just told by the young lady you were bringing into the bay in an hour ago and call and see if you figure out what the issue was. I can't get off the phone. He would not let me get off the phone screaming at me for over a five minutes and how they still did it look at the issue on the car yet. I called him back later in the day as I'm about to leave work at 4 and I told him I just need to know if you have an idea what the issue is and if I have to make arrangements for the following day for a ride; and again screaming at me like a wild lunatic to only call me a half an hour later and they fixed the car quoted me 300 when I got there it went up to 500 and change. And again he kept yelling at me that I wasn't giving them time and how dare I call. I refuse to do business with them again and I do not recommend them to anyone there is no reason to speak to a human being that way to carry on like a psychopath and as it is, I gotta take the car now to another mechanic this morning cause the brakes aren't working after what they did. Very poor customer service attitude, and I am incredibly angry and disappointed in the way I was treated and spoken to and that the amount of money I spent I gotta still take my car to another Mechanic. If I could get this place a negative star I absolutely would. I would never do business with him again. I won't even get gas with them again. I've never dealt with such horrible customer service.

I wrote a detailed work order/plan, including a request for photos of the differential magnet, pan and gears for present condition reference (and this was done without any issue). The jobs were completed neatly, within estimated times (based on book times which I had read prior to bringing my 2013 GMC Savana van in). The price was well within normal expectations, both for the time and for the local area. I confirmed the work afterwards by examining the brake and power steering fluids, noting the work area under my hood clean and neat around the fluid storage sections. I also noted that, without asking, they filled my windshield washer fluid. Nice touch. :) I was promptly called when the job was finished and found my van doors locked when arriving, believe it or not something that too many stations fail to do. I was pleased with the work and feel lucky to have such a professional service station so close to my home.

I showed up on a Saturday morning, hoping to just get an opinion about a brake issue so I could schedule an appointment for another day. I had been forewarned by a friend who is a self-declared car expert that this was going to be a major, costly job. In the end, I drove out of there after two hours with brand new rotors and pads, no more squealing from my wheels, and only a small dent in my bank account. As an "older" guy (like me), Tom is from a generation that truly appreciates the concept of holding on to cars, electronics, and other things for as long as they provide good service. Many other mechanics would have scoffed at me for still driving a 2011 Honda Element, making excuses for why they couldn't make my brakes stop catching and squealing ("You have to expect that from a 14-year-old car, sir"), but Tom treated my never-been-washed Element like it was a 2025 BMW. He's a very sociable guy, so I enjoyed chatting with him while he was working. Some might say he actually provides TOO much information, but I really appreciated how he explained everything he was doing, as it was pretty much implied from the beginning that the fix, as confident as he seemed, wasn't a 100% sure-shot. In the end, this relatively simple process of maintenance turned out to be a success, and I think he was as happy and relieved as I was. There are very few mechanics - including dealerships - that I have ever used more than once, but I will definitely be returning to Tom's for whatever my Element needs in the future.

I will sing their praises til the day I die!…read more John is INCREDIBLE. From the moment you walk in, he lets you know if and when he'll be able to work on your vehicle that day. Never any lies, just complete honesty. Once he does get to looking it over (which only takes a couple of hours or so), he calls you to let you know what he sees and what repairs he recommends. He never gets started on anything without letting you know beforehand, which I deeply appreciate. He'll sometimes show you the problem himself. He gives you an estimate on the cost right there and then too, and it's always similar to or even lower than what other mechanics would offer. Again, he NEVER does a repair without you knowing about it and agreeing to it first, and he's not at all pushy. The repairs are always spot on, more than affordable for what he sometimes has to do to attack the problem, and John is always true to his word. I've come to Mineola Auto Care multiple times, and I've always received stellar service. I go out of my way to come here because I know I can completely trust their work. John is very genuine and kind - he even took the time to write me a list of things to watch out for and look for in my car. It's this above and beyond service that ought to earn them way more than 5 stars, but 5 will have to do for now. Needless to say, HIGHLY recommend!
