They consistently provide great customer service, the food is delicious, and the prices are very reasonable. Today, I ordered a wrap with cheese, onions, spinach, and green peppers, and it was so good! The store is always clean, and there is convenient parking right outside. I've seriously been missing out on some good damn food! I brought the Thanksgiving meal for 12-14 people to have a Friendsgiving at the group home that I work at for the kids and staff. The turkey was absolutely delicious! It wasn't dry or anything. For the Thanksgiving dinner you were able to get it sliced or roasted. Going with sliced was absolutely the way to go! The Thanksgiving meals came with sides of course! For the meal for 12-15, you were able to get 6 sides. I decided on mashed potatoes, a double order of candied sweet potatoes, corn, stuffing, and glazed carrots. Everything was delicious! Nothing was too sweet or too salty. Everything had a great amount of flavor and seasonings. The meal also came with gravy, dinner rolls, and cranberry sauce. For everything above, it came to $175 in including tax. It was absolutely worth it and more than enough food for 14 people. The pick-up experience was very smooth. It was ready at my scheduled pick up time, and a worker helped me carry the order to my car. I will return. I noticed they also have a hot and cold food bar as well as wraps, paninis, breakfast, salads and so much more. read more

It is nice and clean inside and there is a large variety of cold and hot sandwiches you can order and like they were years ago I got helped right away even though it was crowded and my sandwiches were full and delicious as were there soups and salads. Glad to see there's so many one star reviews. I came in today and the owner Lee came over while I was making coffee as if she wanted to check up on what I'm doing. The two women behind the deli came out from the side to stare at me. When I went to the deli to get bagels the short woman with silver hair was very nasty(She told me they only get 5 bagels a day and have me a attitude for no reason). I've purchased packaged food that was way past the sell date (you kind of just assume that it will not be spoiled, until you taste it and then, yuck). I've gotten sandwiches that were far from impressive. Overall, it's hit or miss. I've never had anything great but it's local and reasonably priced. Dropping it a star. Definitely a great sandwich shop. If you want quick cheap food togo, this place has great affordable food. Their hot food plates are also pretty good. It's a steam table deli, with both cold cut and hot food counters. The food is mediocre, though nicely priced. Today, I had the chicken parm hero, which was a special for $4.99 and it was HUGE, keeping me fed for two meals. My friend had some panini with too much honey mustard in it, which ruined the taste. I've had family style roast chicken take out from here before and while the chicken was okay, the sides weren't very tasty, mostly bland. They have a good assortment of prepared foods, which looked good. The cashiers looked about 15 years old and were clumsy, like not asking whether or not we wanted a plastic bag (didn't need it since we were staying to eat) and not actually handing me my food after bagging and ringing it up. There is a small sitting area at the very back of the store, which was good for us. We went between meals and I expect it is more hectic during the meal times. I think the food is good and the staff are pretty friendly. One of the guys who always makes me my sandwiches knows my name and always says hi with a smile. They always accommodate special requests no problem. The boss lady behind the counter needs to change her ways. There was a time where I came to grab dinner to-go just as they were closing (more like 15 min before). She was rushing me and telling me I need to go. Is that how you treat your customers??? I was visiting Long Island and went to eat here twice. Once I found it randomly because I was very hungry and it was convenient to pull in with my elderly mother. She seemed to like all the choices, but we both got salads, which they prepare in a bowl and give back to you after you provide your choices. The salad was very good! I then found out my uncle had been sent to get potato salad by my aunt and this was precisely where he was going to get it, because they have Pennsylvania Dutch potato salad. The next day I went back with both parents, who got their hot lunch, which consisted of a meat, starch and vegetable all for 6.99. I again got the salad and my parents had to get some of the special potato salad,and my Mom raved about the cole slaw. My only complaint is that they do have a small sitting area, but here are no restrooms, so they send you to the Burger King next door. read more

Large deli with a big food offering but the staff really ruin it. They are pretty rude and just seem disinterested. They want to rush you in and out and come off a bit arrogant. My first time here, after living in Hicksville for 4 years. I ordered three "sandwiches". They did not ask me what type of bread I wanted, I was told that sandwich automatically means a hero roll, after they had made them already. I ordered an American, an Italian, and Roast beef gravy melt "sandwich". There were only two other customers in there at 4:30pm on a Monday. I went to the checkout counter and advised the cashier of what I ordered. She advised she could not ring me up until she seen the price on the wrapping of the sandwiches. When I picked up my own sandwiches and brought them to her, she rang them up, and I asked if the wrapping said the same price as the big sign, and why she didn't just ring me up earlier, and she said sometimes people change their orders and are liars. So, I asked, instead of asking me if I made any changes you just assumed I was a liar? She said yes. I asked for a business card, and phone number to the manager, and she refused. Not one person smiled in this establishment. The sandwiches are cheap, but are small with very little meat. I feel like I paid for bread, mayo, and lettuce, and a big chunk, large slices of cheese. I called immediately after to speak to a manager. He said it is common practice for cashier to wait for prices on sandwich wrapping before check out. And that the cashier was wrong for refusing to give me manger information. He did apologize for the lack of customer service I encountered and told me to call back after 6 to speak to owner. I'm sure the owner will see this, and the take away should be better customer service. If you want to make little heroes and call them sandwiches for a cheap price, that's your decisions, but customer service will sell your soda, candy, and hot food easier than your "sandwiches" will. I ordered a hot roasted turkey for this Thanksgiving. I ordered one between 14-16 pounds and paid $108. When I got it home, it seemed quite small. I then weighed it, in its aluminum pan with 3 layers of aluminum foil and it only weighed 7lbs. 11oz. I called Fireside and was directed to the Manager who said that turkeys lose weight during cooking. No turkey loses 50% of its raw weight during cooking. I have cooked turkeys before and none ever lost 50% of its weight. She offered no apology, compensation or solution. I am very disappointed at the managers explanation since it was nothing more than a lot of nonsense. I called back and asked to speak to the owner who was not on site. I feel that that I have been duped by this store. For the money I paid, I should have gotten what I paid for . This turkey should have weighed 10-12 pounds after cooking. read more

Let me start by saying I used to be a loyal customer for 30+ years until I moved out of state. My daughter was coming to visit and I asked her to bring me cold cuts (approx. 6 items) as a treat. She arrived around 12pm and proceeded to tell the guy the order. He was annoyed she wasn't ordering a sandwich and told her she better come later next time if she had an order like that. While I understand his frustration, it IS STILL a deli and that is when she could get there. The order was over $50 and took him about 15min. 3 sandwiches take about 5min each and cost about $30 with a drink. You do the Math. His job is to take the order and make it no matter what it is for. Instead he made her feel like crap and because of that, we won't be back. Such a shame that people feel the need to open their mouths in a snotty way. read more
