We found Glenbrook on the Internet and, it turns out, the company had worked in the building previously. Rich is a true expert in this area and was very efficient in coming out to assess the need. It turned out the frame did not need to be replaced; Rich and his associate repaired the existing frame (new wheels) and replaced the screen (outside in the 40-degree weather), resulting in a cost quite a bit lower than his earlier estimate. I had a balcony door fixed and as soon as the repairman left, I found that the screen door they had removed wasn't replaced correctly. It now doesn't open properly. I immediately called the company to try to have them come back and fix the issue but never received a call. I have since both have emailed and called and they have never gotten back to me! ***LONG READ BUT WORTH IT*** I have not decided yet whether I will go to the police based on my interaction with Glenbrook Patio Door (theft of property) but I am absolutely going to the BBB and here I am also posting on Yelp. I had two patio doors with issues related to the latches that we needed to fix so that we could sell our home. I had purchased 2 new latches (one from a professional patio store and the other from Lowes) and we also still had one of the original latches. After failed attempts by myself to fix the problem (I am not too handy), I gave up and called Rich at Glenbrook Patio Door. Unfortunately I was not going to be home and my husband would be there (he had no prior knowledge of the situation with the doors besides that they did not lock). Rich came and went. My husband texted me the grand total which seemed higher than expected based on the conversation I had with Rich previously. When I got home and looked at the receipt and I saw we were charged for his trip charge, a new latch, and a new door keeper. I then looked at our patio doors. Rich was able to use our original latch for one of the doors but that is where he needed the new door keeper. Makes sense. Then I look at the other latch and it was the EXACT one I purchased from a professional patio door part store. This did not make sense because he charged me $32 for a new part. I noticed that of the 3 latches I had provided in case he was able to use them, only the cheap Lowe's latch was left along with all the miscellaneous pieces that I had accumulated while working on these doors. I immediately called Rich who got very defensive. After hemming and hawing he eventually admitted that he had taken MY BRAND NEW PART with him in an effort to "clean up." In what universe does that even make sense? If he was "cleaning up" as he says, why would he have not taken the cheap Lowe's part? Also, I planned on returning whatever was not used, which included a brand new part that I had just picked up two days before. I did not believe for a minute when he told me that he had used a new part and he had my part in his possession. He told me he would return it to me when he came back to fix a portion of my door that he left undone. Of course he came when I was working and fixed what he had left undone before and left a random latch that was supposedly "mine." I knew it was not and it was verified when I attempted to return it to the store and the part did not match my receipt or any parts they sell there. So basically Glenbrook Patio Door used my own part and then charged me for it $32 in fact. I already paid $20 for the latch so now I paid $52 for the latch in total. Rich made me so uncomfortable by the way he was talking on the phone when I confronted him that I honestly was even nervous to have him come back and fix the shoddy work he left the first time around (Picture will be included here). read more

Hiring a contractor can be stressful but I have to say that Richard (owner/operator) is someone that you can trust to do a great job for a great price. My sliding patio door couldn't be opened more than about 18" due to shifting in my building's foundation. Sliding the door open even that narrow amount was hard to do especially when you're trying to do it one-handed while you carry your food and utensils out to the grill. I received two quotes for the fix and GPD came in about $1000 cheaper AND made it sound like a much more manageable fix. The other company made it sound like they had to reinvent the wheel and they didn't sound all that confident that it'd work! When Richard came out, he was up front, friendly and seemed like an honest guy who knew what he was talking about. He gave me my quote, ordered parts (without me having given a deposit I might add!) and was very communicative on the timeline for completion. Day of the job went by smoothly and Richard and his partner/assistant took great care to do the job without damaging my woodwork or my very expensive custom patio door. They also re-screened my screen door and fixed it so that it slides like a dream as well. Two months later and I can testify that their work has held up and is of the high quality that deserves praise. A person I trust in my building recommended Glenbrook Patio Door. They came to make 4/5 of my sliding glass doors easier for me to open. They also insulated them. But after they left I discovered a mess of spray foam inside and out. They offered to come clean it up, but I had already done it. I was willing to give them another chance to finish the last sliding door because the doors are easier to open now. Unfortunately, the last door wasn't completed as they did the greasing but not the insulating. They cashed my check but haven't returned my email and call to come finish the job. Let me just start by saying that they did a very good job on removing a window and replacing it with a sliding glass door, and in the amount of time given. A little pricier than others but still a good job. I gave a lower rating for this reason: My biggest complaint was that there was a dispute about us preserving the old windows no matter what, which we requested before the work was done, and they did not leave them with us, even though they were our property. When I confronted him, I was dealt with in an extremely unprofessional, rude and angry manner (see Rich's comment to Alex C's review below as a reference). I am a business owner and if I spoke to any of my customers like that I'd be run out of town. Just be aware of any potential issues you need to address, and God forbid you complain or post something negative. Other than that, quality work. read more

We had a malfunctioning patio door in our condo for many years, it wouldn't slide and opening it took a lot of effort. We called another company that does sliding door repairs several years ago, and they told us that the track was damaged and nothing could be done about it, aside from replacing the entire window. Then we came across Glenbrook Patio Door, called Rich, and within a few days our problem was over. He apparently had a replacement track that fit our patio window. We were concerned about damage that might occur to our window and floor during the replacement, and I must say that Rich and his team did an amazing job! I have a patio door that did not open and i did not know what to do so i Google patio door repairs and picked Glenbrook patio and door.....Called Rich on Monday he was in the neighborhood and stopped by to give me an estimate and today as he said his 2 workers came and not only fixed the patio door but my bedroom door that would not close or lock......Then i showed them our mirrored closed doors that were not closing right and they fixed all 3 of them.....Believe me this is the first time i ever write a review but i felt that i had to in this instance.....These are the best in the business trust me people call them no need to go any where else....They are coming back again to repair windows that are not opening and my shower door that does not seal properly and water comes out.....Thank you for a wonderful experience i did not know you existed but now i do i will be a life long customer.....Thank you again for your excellent service!!!! read more
