Very bad service, Jim Brock promised me a replacement window for 4 months now and he doesn't answer and phone calls or texts. Very bad business man ant to top that off when he put my windows in his guys used my bathroom and peed all over the seat, they don't have enough class to pick up the seat. Our job was supposed to be completed today by North Shore Window and Door but the owner canceled last minute and acted unprofessionally. He made some inappropriate implications about me and when I called him to clarify he was struggling to manage his anger. He was screaming at the top of his lungs and swore at me. To the point where I would be afraid to let him in my house. My instincts are that his guys refused to do a small job and he was upset about it but he was not able to remain professional to manage his anger and absolutely lost it. I wanted to share a cautionary tale if you have a small job you may want to take your business elsewhere. The best part is we agreed on a price, which the owner told me is normally more than he would charge for this job but labor is expensive and I agreed. He made a passive aggressive comment via text that "people don't appreciate other people's time". He canceled a job the morning of and when I questioned why he gaslit me by saying that it's my problem that I somehow don't appreciate people's time. Since posting the above review of North Shore Window and Door on 23Feb23 (while I was out of the country) the situation has been totally resolved to my complete satisfaction. Mr Brock contacted me and arranged for the storm door to be installed upon my scheduled return 29Mar23. As promised the door was installed the very next day. Mr. Brock was sincerely apologetic for the entire episode and did not ask for the $800 payment even though I'm sure he lost money on the deal. First off, these guys do great work. Jim is great at listening to what you want and working within your budget. I have had them out twice now for new windows, and they were great each time. They took the time to mask off the windows, and treat the existing paint as lead paint, to protect my kids, even though it is not lead paint. New flashing on the outside always looks great, and they always clean up their work, indontbget have to worry about old glass or scraps laying around. He said he forgot to write down our appointment and forgot to come, but promised to come back the next day. We waited and again it was a no show, no call. Will not give him a third chance. I had windows installed June of 2017 in my entire house. Jim (owner) was great in the beginning and through the install. He was responsive and communicated with us throughout the process. However, we had one issue at the end with some caulk and he promised to come back and fix it, which he did himself. When he came to fix it, he acknowledged that he made it worse and would send his guys to fix it. It's been over a year and I have followed up multiple times and Jim has either not responded at all or has committed to have his guys come out a certain week but they never show. I'm very disappointed in the way this turned out as everything went smoothly until the very end and now I have to find someone else to come fix the problem. read more

I had an amazing experience with Northshore. I moved into a newly purchased townhouse condo from out of state knowing that it was going to need renovations. From the home inspection, I knew that many of the windows needed to be replaced. When I actually took possession, I quickly realized that it was ALL of the windows and the doors too. I was referred to Northshore by a neighbor and called immediately. Jim was out to see me within a couple of days. We went through all of the windows and doors and put together a plan grouping the replacements into phases. He listened to my concerns and my plans for each room and helped me to pick the right windows with the right features for each spot. For example, I wanted to have inside mount wood blinds in a couple of rooms. He made sure we got enough space within the opening to accommodate them. We were also in the process of replacing the "contractor absolute minimal cost trim" throughout the place with something a little more individual and attractive. Jim was able to match the new casing style exactly. We had some non standard windows that were problematic. Jim brought in a Pella rep to review everything and fine tune the order. We got the first batch on order quickly. Once he had tentative delivery dates, he contacted me to schedule installation. The whole process was organized and efficient, for which I was really grateful since the rest of the reno wasn't. Installation day was a breeze. Jim worked with his crew and it went like clockwork. My place wasn't trashed and they cleaned up at the end of the day. They were even pretty patient when I had to relocate my cats from one room to another. The next two phases went as well as the first. I have to say that Jim is very good at what he does.
