When I first started going here a few years back it was an amazing clinic with really low prices. It has slowly gone up, but the worst part has been the digress of service and lack of animal care and knowledge. This past year this clinic failed to give me the proper information on my pets health which in turn cost me more than $500.00 that I did not need to spend and more importantly, the suffering of my cat. Back in June I took my 2 year old cat to them because I noticed some breathing issues as well as wheat appeared to be what I thought was her coughing up hairballs to what seemed to be (thanks to tik toc) asthma attacks. The vet had me run labs and x-rays. She wanted to rule out Valley Fever. When she reviewed the x-rays, she said she need to consult a collogue to ensure it was in fact asthma. That should have been the first sign that she was not a good vet and did not have enough knowledge. Once she confirmed asthma, she prescribed a steroid to quickly get my cat some relief followed up with an inhaler. She advised on the dosage of the inhaler then stated that I would gradually need to wean her off of it. I did as instructed and it all seem to go away. Fast forward to October/November. The attacks slowly came back and eventually got worse than they had been before. I looked up to see if there was something I could do for her and read that this condition NEVER goes away! So WHY did I need to wean her off????? Furious, I called the vet to find out, yet again, the vet was no longer there and that I HAD to bring Maui in so that the new vet could evaluate her. I expressed my concern that no refills were provided and that this was a life condition so the instructions made no sense. I also advised her that money was slim to non since the government shut down set me back and that we are likely going to shut down again in January. At NO time was I advised that the vet had given my cat refills. I asked for her records to be sent to me and advised that I would not return to that clinic with any of my animals nor would my mom and hung up. Eventually finding another vet that had an opening and after spending almost $500 for the re-evaluation just to get a prescription, CVS tells me that she had refills from the previous doctor!!!!!!!!! WHY couldn't the original vet have told me that when they were talking to me after they had "reviewed her file"?!!!!! Not only did I throw away money but my cat suffered for weeks because of this issue. NEVER will I go back or refer anyone to this clinic. DO NOT go there if you love your fur babies. read more

My dog needs a script for dog food. Every 6 months I have to take her in for an exam with a urine sample. Sept of 2024, I took her in the cost was $60 with a 6-month script. I took her today and was slapped with a $174 cost. I was shocked needless to say. The excuse was I was charged incorrectly in Sept. First, I should have had a courtesy call saying hey we charged you wrong next time it will be x amount. Or when making my current appt I should have been told. And now I have to call in every month request give the vet time to write the script stop and pick it up to send to Chewy. After this 6 month I will be looking for a new vet. I recently took my dog Scooby for a wellness exam and Lepto shot. The visit was well priced, quick and seamless in every way. My pup can get nervous sometimes at the vet but Dr. Day made him feel comfortable and at ease. There is a lot of mention below regarding the confirmation process and policies. Please remember that while we all care for our pets and want them to receive proper care, this is still a business that also helps in taking emergency visits and same day calls. Missing or needing to reschedule your appointment isn't fun but neither is having to shift a whole day's operation, and missing out on the opportunity to care for another animal to accommodate ONE individual. read more

Contacted the clinic to bring my cat in for a checkup after an emergency vet visit due to a fever. However, they needed info from the hospital before I can make an official appointment. I called back twice to checkup on when I can made an appointment, and I was told to wait. It has been 6 business days and I have heard nothing from them. Luckily, I have made an appointment at another clinic and they saw me the next day for my cat. If your pet needs immediate attention or urgency, I recommend any other location because this place lacks reliability and urgency for your pet. read more

I highly recommend Glendale Animal Hospital. Dr. Day was Tucker's Angel I am extremely grateful. Thank you Dr. Day for performing a successful surgery. Tucker had a Prolapsed Urethra. He was in pain and was bleeding a lot, he needed surgery. I had a really hard time finding a Veterinarian that would do this type of surgery. I finally found Dr. Day, he was very honest, direct, and very confident that he can perform this delicate surgery since he has a lot of experience in doing so. I have used this place since we moved close in 2017. All has been well with Dr. Day. The staff has changed and apparently doesn't think it is important to return phone calls. My poor Boots was in bad shape. I asked someone to call me back when available. Nothing happened so we ended up at the AVVec emergency center - they did a fine job. We needed to consider a surgery and they quoted a price that was staggering. They suggest we call our regular vet and see if they did the procedure. So I called again - explaining what was needed and asked if they did the procedure. They were supposed to call me back. This all started 5 days ago and to this moment, I have not received any calls back. We ended up having to put our poor cat down because no one at this office would advise us or give any guidance whether they did the procedure, should we do the procedure, etc. I would not recommend this place any longer. I was just there and the girl I spoke to had absolutely no sympathy for my situation - it is all about trying to prove that she didn't make a mistake. SHAME ON THEM!! read more

My little buddy had a pretty bad ear infection. I needed to get him seen the same day. I called my regular vet who said maybe they could see him in 3 days because this was not an emergency. I called my best friends vet who refused to see him, at all. My other good friend had mentioned her vet was truly remarkable and he cared deeply for animals. I remembered she left his card on my fridge. I called Dr. Day's office where they took time to calm me down AND scheduled same day visit. They clearly care for the animals. They treated my boy with soo much care and love. They made sure he was comfortable and I was always in his sight. I was comforted by Dr.Day and his technicians as they explained in detail everything they were doing and why. They also fully explained then showed me a demo on how to make sure I care for my baby boy correctly. I've decided my baby boy has a new doc.. Dr. Day will be who I see and trust with my puppers from here on out. THANK YOU DR. DAY AND TEAM! We loved this vet when we first started coming here in early 2023 because they were able to take my dog in on an emergency visit. We even signed up for their "senior wellness package". It's been next to impossible to get an appointment with them, my girl had to go to another vet for an emergency procedure back in November because the doctor couldn't even give us a call back. It took two days for someone at this office to tell us to go to another vet but by that time she already had the procedure done at another clinic. I scheduled a check up with one vaccine two weeks prior to the appointment and two days before I asked if they could accommodate a 10 minute window into our appointment because my work scheduled a last minute meeting and the front desk gave me attitude and said they were busy and needed to reschedule me weeks out for my dogs vaccines and pay upfront before my next appointment if I couldn't make this one. At this point I'm out $400 for that wellness package and haven't received half of what they promised. I wouldn't recommend this vet at all. Against my better judgement I made an appointment to review my dogs needs, explained over the phone and through their app my dogs needs and when I went in today they said they were only treating one issue. But both issues went hand in hand and said I have to go back and make another appointment two weeks out to address the second issue because they're only doing "drive by" appointments. Their care is a joke, don't take your pet here even if it's down the street. read more

My wife took our dog for vaccinations and a DNA test for our apartment and the vet who "helped" her treated her like absolute garbage and told her she was "killing" our dog. Who the hell gives a vet the right to speak to anyone that way. She was told by halo animal rescue that any vet could scan his chip and tell his dna info and when she asked for the vet to check that, he said "that's not how chips work so I dont know what you want from me". judging by the business owners responses to the other issues I can tell that this business doesnt care about their clients and only worries about their money. Let me just start this off by saying that I am truly disappointed in the way this office runs their business. My dogs have been here for a few surgeries and the doctor always did a very great job , not one complaint at all. There was the stem cell treatment done here for my English Bulldog Coco, it was about $1000, she also had a csection here about $900, cherry eye tuck for not one but two of Cocos pups around $800 for both, then got a partial tail amputation for my dog Big Poppa around another $1000... ( to the manager: look at ALL of the accounts for Coco, Big Mama, Suki and Big Poppa because that BS $2000 number that you gave me over the phone was WRONG) Today I called to check if they had any appointments because big poppa needed to be seen, looks like he has a little cyst between his toes. The receptionist put me on hold then got back on the phone to let me know that she can not schedule me because she said I missed 1 appointment in July for an exam/anal glad expressed. She said they would no longer prebook me because I missed that 1 appointment, an appointment that probably would have cost Oh I dont know maybe $70. The manager got on the phone and explained that because it was a guaranteed Saturday appointment they charge a missed fee and cant no longer prebook. I understand the missed appt fee, for whatever the reason was I cant remember why it was missed, that is not like us but your going to tell me that after taking all my dogs to get their surgeries after spending all that money, you guys are now saying that because of 1 appointment I have to call the day of and see if you guys have something available and if so yay and if not too bad call the next day?! No thats not how you keep your patients! Total crap! I cant believe this is how they treat their patients! Go somewhere else where they actually care and have morals! read more

I was brought in with the impression we would be starting the wellness package they had available. The person I spoke with made it easy and simple to understand. I even cancelled my insurance that day so I can remove the wellness protection I already had. I drive up and they helped right away. The person who greeted me, walked me into the room was kind and friendly, then we wait for the Vet. There's this man and Ava my dog already with the anxiety level she is in because of the car ride, becomes more shaky and scared, the assistants comfort her and he starts to inspect. I had plenty of questions and concerns, but seemed he was not too concerned on the other things. As I start calling more out, He stops and asks "If you were to take care of a problem right now what would it be?" I mention the allergies, he says, "Good call." Of course that is one of the major problems, but I was just as concerned about the Anxiety she grew to have. scared to say I mention the few things she does and his response was "I can prescribe some medications that would make her sleepy, otherwise well she's gonna have to what most would say, "suck it up and deal with it." That is when I lost my comfortability to speak more or to even bring up more issues I had with Ava. He Gave her a shot for her allergies and week supply of meds for her allergies, but now still wondering about the wellness protection. No one mentions one word about getting the protection and I had to ask at the end when Im paying a high bill which I should have kept my insurance had I known it was going to be a confused visit for me. I felt they were concerned about time and money, than the overall health of an Animal. I do not think I will return with this practice or recommend. read more

I was happy with my experience here. I took my kitty Frank in for a procedure and everyone was helpful and great with my pet. I had my daughter with me who decided it would be a great time to cry tons, and they were even patient with this. After the procedure they left a detailed message about his status and how everything had gone, which was reassuring. The staff was also very thorough with my check out instructions the next day when I picked up Frank . They even helped me carry him and his crate to the car. I received a phone call the next morning to again make sure my kitty was doing well. Overall very happy read more

Dr. Brown is the worse vet I have ever dealt with. Totally incompetent. I have worked with animal shelters and vets in Illinois. This was the first time I needed a vet in Az. I was referred by friends and to get Dr. Day. Well I ended up with Dr. Brown. My pet had a 104.9 fever, totally dehydrated, watery diarrhea, vomiting. She gave me no feedback at all. Just kept saying "I do t know". He was going on 4 days without food and water. I knew he was dying. She told me to go home and give him a jar of baby food and wait for labs. I never saw the xrays, she never went over them with me. I knew a jar of baby food was not going to help him survive the night. I went to veterinary colleges online and found out what to do for him so he would survive the night. He needed fluids and food ASAP. I stayed up all night and forced food and fluids in him. I went to another vet. They gave him antibiotics, pain relief, anti nausea medicine. Also they sent me home with the ability to give him subcutaneous fluids. Dr. Brown never noticed that if you touched his stomach that it was painful for him. We asked for the xrays from Dr. Brown. We kept getting a 1 inch by 1 inch picture of the xrays. It took three days to get the one and only useless X-ray that they took. My pet at that point was at 6 days with no food and water. We had to take new xrays and could see he had pancreatitis. I was going to have to make a decision to put him down or not until we discovered the pancreatitis. We started him on steroids and other medications. He got up the next morning wanting to eat. This could have been resolved day one if Dr. Brown had taken more then one x Ray and read it correctly. Glendale Animal Hospital cost me $500. Did absolutely nothing. Also delayed my pet getting care because they would not send the x rays. FYI they usually leave a comment with negative reviews to make the pet owner look like they were at fault. From what I have read the positive reviews are mostly from employees, family and friends. I'm going to take this to the AZ State Board of Veterinary. I know not much will come of it. Veterinarians do not seem to have to be accountable for their incompetence. They can cause the death of your pet with no fear of losing their license or any real money to be compensated back to you. All I can do is post this to as many sites as I can find. read more

I am writing this review because I am shocked at what the receptionist just told me on the phone. I have an old dog who is having issues. She told me she could not make the appointment because he's old with issues and that they were booked for this week. I asked if I could book for the following week and she said no that I had to call the day I wanted to come in and there was no way that I could pre book. WTF?!?!?? I have never heard of a vet not booking appointments and having to call that day I want in. Sooooo what if their booked on the Monday I want in? I'm so confused by this practice. WOW! I have never in my 56 years and many pets, had such a horrible experience trying to make an appointment for my dogs. I am new to Phoenix and was looking for a forever vet for my dogs. I ran across Glendale vet because they were next to my groomers. I made an appointment for one dog to get shots, and decided to get my other dog's nose looked at. I called back and got a different girl, we tried to get the appointments together so I only had to make one trip. I guess this vet has a cancelation policy that will charge your phone bill $35 if you change or cancel the appointment. This girl was so obsessed with getting her damn policy across that she didn't care if she lost my business. I told her to book the appointments but because I was unhappy with their policy she didn't think I should. It was absolutely unreal. All this just to get my dogs an appointment. I canceled both appointments and found another vet to be my forever vet. Someone who was nice and didn't make it a stressful deal to make an appointment. This vet has alot to learn about customer service if they need to have a policy like that. read more

Over the last decade my family has had five of our pets use Dr. Day with Glendale Animal Hospital. (2 cats, 3 dogs) We are always pleased to recommend Glendale Animal Hospital to our friends. The staff is caring and nice and we feel that our pets get the highest level of care. One of our small dogs, 12 year old Abby, has had ongoing dental issues and Dr. Day has cleaned her teeth many times, always pulling the teeth that need to be pulled and leaving the others fresh and clean - she always comes home and is like a puppy the next day. We trust Dr. Day and his staff to do an excellent job. Glendale Animal Hospital moved to a brand new location just a couple years ago, so the facility is high tech, clean and welcoming. The staff is always friendly and great with both myself and whatever furry family member is by my side that day. Their pricing for services has always been upfront and I have found cheaper than other vets in the area. I feel like I am getting deal for vet services and I trust Glendale Animal Hospital. As many yelpers would agree, our pets are our furr-children/babies. I wouldn't just trust anyone for vet care, and highly recommend Glendale Animal Hospital. read more

First I want to say that I have been taking my 2 cats to this vet for 2.5 years, Dr. Day has been great and I really enjoyed him as a vet. But today has given me a reason not to return to this business. Yesterday 4/8 I received a call at 4:19 to confirm my appointment at 9:30 am on Saturday 4/9. I said yes that I would be there. Today when I showed up for my appointment the receptionist was looking for my name and couldn't find my appointment. The other receptionist said that she called me yesterday and that I said that I told her that I had spoken with Ivan another receptionist and had moved my appointment to next week. I repeatedly told her that I did not and that I talked to someone and confirmed my appointment, and did not reschedule it. She continued to say that she spoke with me or "someone else" and that I rescheduled, and said that in the calendar my appointment was next week. So someone moved my appointment instead of the client they talked to. What bothered me about this was that she treated me like I was lying about this, there was never an apology saying that they made a mistake and mixed me up wth someone else. She offered to give me an appointment 40 minutes later after speaking with the vet, but I left. I was too upset to stay after how she treated me, I feel very disrespected and will now be looking for a new veterinarian office. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!! This place is all about money and doesn't care about the well being of your pet. I had an appointment scheduled for tomorrow but didn't realize they automatically booked my other cat to have his yearly shots. When the lady called to confirm the appointment for both cats, I told her one of my cats due for boosters was no longer in my care. She charged me $25 to cancel the appointment, mind you we still had an appointment scheduled at THE SAME DAY AND TIME for our kitten (they usually see both cats at the same time in the same room for the cost of 2 exams). After hearing that I was going to be charged a $25 cancelled appointment fee for a cat that I no longer have in my care, I told them I would no longer be doing business with them and will be finding another vet. She then charged me ANOTHER $25 for canceling the appointment for my kitten. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! THEY THREW AWAY MY BUSINESS (3 cats) OVER A $25 CANCELLED APPOINTMENT FEE? On another note, Doctor Day, who is in my opinion the only vet or tech there with their head on straight, is regularly on vacation. As I said, this place is about the money. Took our dog in that had been injured by another animal. They cleaned her, shaved her and stitched some of her wounds. When we picked her up they gave us the wrong dogs prescription. Thank god we read the bottles before giving the meds. They gave the correct antibiotics and pain meds the next morning. They wanted to see her in a week. She wasn't doing well, so we took her in a couple days early. In the office the bandage moved letting out very stinky puss and blood that covered us. We expressed her condition wasn't doing any better and seems to have gotten worse, they said she is fine. They left her without a bandage and told us to apply warm compresses for the drainage. Her wounds were getting bad to the point where one of her stitched areas burst. Then we went to the follow appointment. They wrapped her up and put on some ointment stating she would heal faster. Went back three days later where they did that again and stated she was getting better. Her condition wasn't improving. Poor dog wasn't eating (we had to force the vet recommended baby food), she started turning jaundice and smelling really bad. We took her in again. They tested her kidney function. Thankfully, they did finally recommend a place that provides better care. So, now her kidneys have failed and she is full septic. Our only hope is a $5,000 attempted plan with a kidney specialist, who we are currently working with to save our little dog... We followed all the docs orders and trusted them at Glendale Animal hospital. We feel let down and feel the vet has been negligent with her care.. We feel that as an experienced vet, they should have recognized her deteriorating condition and took additional steps to prevent what is now happening to this poor little dog. Our dog is in so much pain and fading fast. I wouldn't wish this type of care on my worst enemy. read more

I called this place to ask how much it would cost for a vaccine package, and as a consumer I have every right to call as many places as I want to verify pricing to get the best deal on vaccines for my pets. We switched to this place from another vet I thought overcharged for things. I love Dr. Day and his staff. He is honest and caring about our fur babies. My one dog's monthly pills were 1/3 the price of my old Vet. We recently had to put our 1st family dog down and the Vet had been honest about surgery options. He could have tried to push us towards an $8k surgery but didn't think it was the best thing for our dog. We ended up putting him down last week and the Dr. Day and his staff were so nice, they let us stay in the room after as long as we wanted and then we got a Sympathy card from them that was signed by everyone. That was very nice. Love this place and will continue to take our other 2 dogs there!! read more
