Everyone was super friendly, but I noticed that a couple things that were really lacking: adequate towels and a clock inside the washing room. I've mentioned both before during check out. When you're selling dog washes, apparently lots of people want them. This was probably my 5th wash and every time someone gets in line behind me. For someone like me with ADHD no way to measure time passing in a shared space and with soapy hands making me keep my phone in my pocket? No clock is a distinct disadvantage (feel free to interpret that as ABLEIST because you're introducing hurdles that only impact ND folx). Hearing there's someone in line behind you and you've got 15 minutes -- is stressful especially when there's no clock and the towels are barely thicker than a paper towel. It makes the task is exponentially harder to finish quickly. I had to walk to the front when I realized that while she time checked me, the lady working but didn't bother asking if I needed anything and that no more towels were coming. Bit strange having to beg for more towels when she literally commented "gosh, is that a fluffy dog!" as we signed in. Yeah my dog has a double coat which you have acknowledged seeing so I don't know why you're trying to cheap out on the towels? It was actually a safety hazard. There was water everywhere because I could not get enough of his water out of his coat in order to walk him safely from the washing room to the front counter even after the second batch of towels. I mentioned it was unsafe and I wish I'd have gotten more towels when I asked for them, and also that it was difficult to keep moving within their timeframe/to be respectful to the other guest when there's no clock available. The lady working could not have cared any less. She didn't acknowledge my concern just dismissed. "Oh if there wasn't someone waiting behind you, I wouldn't have hurried you." Well no kidding and I wouldn't need a clock if I wasn't trying to be courteous. I could have taken my own time and been in there long enough to get my dog adequately dry. Instead I had my dog dripping water and soaking into my car seats when I left the dog wash. If that's a dog wash is a service that you're prepared to offer, please do it so that people can have a successful experience. Today blew really hard but actually it's the same challenges I've faced before when using their service and today decided I'm not their ideal customer with my expectations. Pet Planet should think about some ways to ensure people want to come back or at least feel they gotten enough of what they paid for to move on with their day. If I knew I'd only get the wash half done I wouldn't have started. A wet husky/malamute is a recipe for a stinky dog and or skin problems from being wet too long. I'm hoping we don't end up with an unexpected vet visit after this.

Recently went in for some dog food & the staff member working was so great with my little one! He asked if she wanted to help him carry the dog food & she was THRILLED. Please don't use them for your puppies if you go through animal kingdom - you won't get the same treatment you should have gotten elsewhere. I can't believe I was recommending them to people less than a year ago. She must've spent 20 minutes on the phone with me, obviously passionate and knowledgeable about animals. She told me she had created a "cheat sheet" of sorts that I could get a copy of: it lists all the brands of food from the lowest phosphorus content to the highest. Knowing more about this my cats illness eased my worries. Once I got to NB, I learned they carried, Daves & Weruva's, both good for Renal Diets. Then I learned that Martha is one of the owners and was so touched at how much time she spent with me on the phone. So kind! She's the real deal about caring about your pets/fur babies. NB gave me a copy of the Cheat Sheet that lists/compared most all the Feline Chronic Kidney Disease wet food. Thank y'all so much for the guidance! P.S. Before Paw Play, he spent all his time at home and would get really overwhelmed and anxious in public - especially with other dogs. We'd dread seeing other dogs during walks because he'd let out a high-pitched squeal that had neighbors running outside to see what the heck was going on. After just a few months in Paw Play, we noticed his anxiety had dramatically decreased. He'll still get excited to see other dogs but is much more tolerant and will often just sniff and keep on walking. It's a miracle! We know he loves it and we love having a super tired pooch at the end of the day - clearly he's getting lots of exercise. Hunter gets excited when we pull into the parking lot and especially when he sees "Miss Barbara" his "teacher" at Paw Play. Barbara is super sweet, easy to work with and really responsive via phone and e-mail. We receive emailed photos once in a while of Hunter playing and he even came home with a Christmas Candy Cane over the holidays. Paw Play would get a "Pawfect 10" if the hours were a little more work friendly. The closing hours range from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. which is tough if you don't live and work nearby. An extra bonus would be a webcam we could dial into to see the pups at play.

I was charged an additional $20 and had to listen to her tell me he had bad behavior and is a really bad dog. I was in shock! He's been to two groomers in his 4 years of life, plus one in MN and I've heard nothing but good things about my dog. One mentioned he didn't like getting his nails trimmed but that was normal. I was so upset when I left Chews 4 Paws, I contacted the groomer he has been going to for the last 2 years. She said that she has never had a problem with my dog and that he's skiddish but very well behaved and a very sweet dog. I told her about the experience I had with Chews 4 Paws and she said it sounds like it was more of a groomer problem than a dog problem. Some people shouldn't be working with dogs. Dogs sense good people and human energy. If my dog misbehaved it's because he didn't get treated well. I also noticed when I went to pick up my dog there were two of them trying to hold another dog down while they worked on him. The poor dog looked scared and miserable. I felt so bad for him. My dog was crying in the cage like he couldn't wait to get away from there. I've not seen him be so full of anxiety when picking him up from his normal groomer, or anywhere else for that matter. I think my groomer is right, it wasn't my dog that had bad behavior, it was Chews 4 Paws that had the bad behavior. I wonder how many others they have charged extra for "bad behavior"? When I told my normal groomer that Chews for Paws charged an additional $20 for bad behavior, she laughed and thought it was ridiculous. If you're a professional and know what you're doing, you don't need to charge extra. What a scam!!!!
