The fries were fine, nothing special. The ranch dressing, however, was genuinely unpleasant -- easily the low point of the meal. Atmosphere: Right around 6:00 PM, a live band started up. For a restaurant setting, that felt far too early -- most venues wait until around 7:30 PM before live music kicks in. The result was that conversations became nearly impossible, customers were shouting to be heard, and servers were struggling to take orders accurately. It added to an already disorganized environment. Worth noting: Fox News was running on the TVs, which may matter to some guests. The Positives: The place was clean, and the golf course is genuinely beautiful and well maintained. However, I did notice some significant trimming of the pine trees -- hopefully they don't continue cutting them up that high, as the natural wooded feel is a big part of the appeal up there. Salads at small bar-and-grill operations are sometimes a dicey bet, but Mio Saloon nailed it. Don't get me wrong--this place hasn't been yuppified. It's still a down to earth small town bar catering to a biker clientele. It also seems to be a spot where locals just meet to have lunch and chat, dragging the kids along.
