The service was wonderful. Our server was incredibly attentive and perfect in her delivery and care. Glenn's place has a kitschy cozy ambiance, which is lovely. The food is a mixed review. Potato skins appetizer was actually steak fries with a cheese sauce and bacon - not actually potato skins which is what I wanted. The cheese sauce was ok - unexpected and a bit weird for "potato skins" but not terrible. Onion rings and Rueben are amazing! The lobster roll was not good - lobster was from frozen and completely flavorless. Dessert was a mixed bag. Homemade cream was delicious while homemade chocolate cake was mediocre at best. What brings this down to 3 stars instead of four is pricing. Drinks and dessert were a bit pricey for the quality and size. Sides were extra cost. The inconsistent food quality doesn't warrant the high cost of this meal. Either prices need to drop or food quality needs to improve to match the pricing. We will not be back. read more

The customer service was great, but forgive me the food just isn't good and is terribly overpriced. I had a lobster stew that had a few chunks of lobster and some gross strange sauce. I had the haddock reuben sandwich topped with coleslaw. The fish is fresh and tasty. The service was excellent and super friendly. It's conveniently located off of the main street, Highway 15. If you like alcohol, there are a wide variety to choose from, including mojitos and margararitas by the pitcher. The restaurant as a full bar as well. Good place for a large gathering, like a party. Went here with friends that live in the area. They eat at Glenn's often and stated "We have never had a bad meal here." A nice, informal, place that is part diner-like restaurant and part bar. Service was great (but we were there during the week, off-season so not busy). I went with a clam roll and initially had low expectations. Pleasantly surprised by the roll when it arrived well filled with lightly breaded whole belly clams. Perfectly done. Fries were also perfect. My friend went with his standard beef tacos as it was "Taco Tuesday". The fact that he likes the tacos is actually high praise as he previously lived in Texas for many years. Hubby had the Haddock soup and I had the chicken quesadilla. He said the soup was very good. Much better than what he had in Portland. My quesadilla was good. On the recommendation of joanne parent Brad and I tried Glenn's place in Bucksport a place I don't think I would have ever stopped at before because of what it was previously and such establishments are not gay friendly, however this place got new owners and was nothing short of amazing. The food is just spectacular even boring things like coleslaw or mashed potatoes were seasoned so perfectly and were amazing! I had the chicken Clarence which is grilled chicken topped with lobster and bacon in a lobster sauce (friggin yum) our appetizers were equally amazing and the service was top notch! This was a neat place to eat. The inside decore is a sea theme, but because it's October, it has a mix of Halloween! The seating is roomy tables and nice atmosphere. Your glasses of water are served in mason jars. The menu is a double sided one and not overwhelming, they kept it simple and I like that. They have starters, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood and pasta. Service was great, our waitress was very nice. Our food was great, too. I had a roasted turkey wrap and it was pretty decent size served with chips. Now two of my kids split fried clams, and yes, I tried one and they were tasty, no muddy bellies!! It was served with fries and the waitress gave them each coleslaw. My boys don't care that much for coleslaw and I tried one and I really liked theirs. It has a little different taste from other coleslaws I've tried before. My husband got a steak and cheese sandwich, very big and he said it was good. My daughter got smothered steak tips, she loved the taste and said some pieces were just a little tough, but she still ate them, because she liked the taste. Oh, we also had ordered nachos for a starter and pretty nice size to feed us 5 and had some leftover to take home. Then dessert came along... Oooh, now this was amazing! Homemade cakes and pies. They have a small bakery and where it was almost closing time, a few items were gone on their list, which again small, but a variety for anyone to find something they would like. The boys shared the last piece of chocolate cream pie and they said it was delicious. I tried their coconut cream pie and it was awesome! The slices were large and our party that was next to us, ordered chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and the slices were large and they were taking them home! When we were leaving, I noticed they have an enclosed bar, separate from the restaurant, too. Parking is plentiful as well. We decided to try Glenn's after a day at the park and Bar Harbor. The soups are fabulous, buttery and chock full of lobster or haddock. Tried the Sammy sandwich and it was rich and creamy with spinach and artichoke. Definately would recommend this place and our waitress was wonderful! Quick service too. read more

This has clearly become one of the GO-TO restaurants in Bucksport and beyond, including the Camden to Ellsworth Route 1 Corridor. Glenn clearly cares about the reputation of his restaurant ensuring that food quality and service are top notch. We took a large party and had a wonderful meal and great time. Every once in awhile you pop into roadside restaurant and have a pleasant surprise, this was one of them. The very large restaurant space is extremely clean, so much so it's really unexpected! I hope this place lasts, it's kind of in an awkward place on the coastal map of Maine. A lot of the day time traffic is returning to Southern Maine or Massachusetts from Bar Harbor, the bulk of the car travelers are planing to eat lunch further south. My husband and I are older and only eat two meals a day. We were returning from Deer Isle, had a light breakfast in Stonington and stopped for an early dinner in Bucksport, my first impression cleanliness! Clean floors, clean table tops, counters and dust free everywhere! Smiling wait staff was a pleasant surprise. I didn't even notice if there was a theme, the place is rather plain. The menu was full of choices, I just ordered a hamburger because you can't stray from correct there unless it's really bad, in this case it was excellent! I really don't remember what my husband ordered, it's been a week since we were there but I do remember that we were both pleasantly surprised with the over all experience.
