Never use Glenrose. They screwed up the location of our clawfoot tub, and I am still trying to sort out the drain. I'm not sure any of them know how to use a measuring tape. We have had multiple leaks in the hot and cold water plumbing that they installed. read more

I've used Glenrose for years, love the owners and have always been satisfied with their workmanship. They send one of their employees to change my whole house and refrigerator filters each year. I also provide the filters, so it's a service call that takes a maximum of 45 minutes. Last year they charged $230 for the service call. This year, with a 5% discount given after questioning the original quote of $345, was $327.75. He had me pay and sign for it before he did the work. That's a 70% increase and even with higher costs due to inflation, I felt taken advantage of. I called around and others charge MUCH less for a service call per hour. Plumber arrived to fix 2 toilet float valves, flapper and supply line. The Plumber was in my house for one hour. Charged $817.50 and one toilet was still leaking. Called the plumber and he told me I needed to install a new toilet and the cost would be $850 but he would discount to $750.00. I waited 2 weeks and no one showed up so I called the main office. Two days latter the manager/owner called and I explained the issue. He said he would get back to me. It's been a week and no response. Bought a toilet from Home Depot for $227 hired a handyman to install the new toilet for $200. Glenrose Plumbing is a rip off!!! read more

My 85 yr old Mother in law was charged $195 to replace the red plastic flapper that stops the toilet water flow! Called and told them it's still "running" was told afterwards if it continues running you need a new toilet. I think they prey on the elderly. read more

I have never posted a review for anything but feel this is deserved. I called Glenrose Plumbing to ask what their charge is to drain a water heater since mine hasn't been drained in five years and I have hard water. She said she can't give me a price, I'd have to wait until they showed up, did the work, and presented me with the bill. Really? I would also have asked to have a couple more things done but certainly won't use them if the cost is a surprise. Doesn't seem like a good way to do business to me. I left a previous review but thought it necessary to review Glenrose again based upon an entirely different service call and experience. The other review I gave Glenrose 5 stars, excellent service, excellent price. Thought I had found a new plumbing company to use for future work as well. And I cannot take away from that experience. HOWEVER, several weeks later I call and they come out but a different plumber than the first work done. He quotes me $707 for what should be just a Moen shower faucet cartridge and labor to install. He said entire shower assembly needed to be replaced along with the trim kit in the shower. And his quote included $56 for going into crawl space to turn water off and on again! I called the mgmt/owner and was told she would look at the quote and get back to me the next day via email. She did and basically said "it is what it is", and that this project "...may not be a good fit". What in the world does "this project may not be a good fit" mean? That certainly doesn't exude confidence in the company your trying to do business with. After telling them they lost this business and any future business, I called another company and had the work performed for $165. You do the math and decide who you want to do business with. read more

I have a sub pump backing up, my home warranty sent out Glenrose Plumbing on a saturday, I was expecting to pay the sat service call, which Glenrose quoted me of $265, and then the cost of fixing my sub pump , which was backing up in my basement, would be covered my my home warranty. The owner came out and said I owed him $475 for that day, and he did nothing, It was not repaired at all, he made the comment, he did not want to pull it apart on a weekend, and he would need to get a quote into the home warranty. I had to Pay him $475 dollars for just coming out to quote, nothing fixed. Owner also made a comment that he would write a letter to home warranty to get as much replaced as possible under insurance, and now they have completely denied this, as it was over $2000 he quoted them to replace a pumb. Our water heater broke on Sunday, and we called Glenrose Plumbing to see what could be done. They didn't have one available but could get one Monday. We called first thing Monday and they were already working to get us a new unit. Had it installed and running Monday evening. Cost was reasonable and the installer was great. read more

Bruce was a consummate professional. He came out and assessed our old hot water tank, and then went to bat for us with the home warranty company for replacement approval. Once approved, he replaced the hot water tank quickly and was on his way, leaving the work area cleaner than when he got there. I highly recommend Glenrose Plumbing Service. read more

A very unethical business that takes advantage of the elderly!! My parents called them out to fix a shower valve that was tough to use. Done these many times myself so figured it would be a 15-30 minute job and they would probably pay a couple hundred. Nope not even close. Instead they replaced "1" cartridge for a Moen 1225b shower valve. Keep in mind these are less than $20 retail and so common everyone carries them. You even get the tool to remove it with the cartridge when you purchase it. I have done them myself and it takes no time to do and its super easy. My Father no longer has the strength to do this kind of thing and I live 500 miles away. Glenrose charged $354.00 to do that, yes thats 334 labor for 15 minutes of work. And while they were there my parents said can you look at the toilet lever and other shower. They did just that, didn't replace anything but charged 210.00 to adjust both items. All in all a bill for $582.95 for a $20 dollar part, 30 minutes of work and probably an hour of driving each way based on their location. This is so wrong when companies take advantage of the elderly and I will not hesitate to point it out every chance I get. They can say whatever they want but I know what they paid, how long they spent and what the job entailed. I also know who Glenrose Plumbing is and have had dealings with them in the past when I worked in the plumbing wholesale industry. read more

Heather, Owner, is not an honest individual. 1. They buy at wholesale cost and dramatically mark-up the cost of inventory [in other words, buy it yourself, versus through Glenrose]. 2. Labor [installation costs] are a joke! I was charged $200 for a 45 minute installation. I would not recommend this company unless you feel like getting price gouged. read more

Had Bruce over to my house for an estimate on a basement bathroom. Waited a week...no bid. Called and asked when I could get the estimate. The lady said she would call me right back. That was a week ago. I guess they don't want my business or they lack the skills and ability to complete the job. If you are looking to get a project done in a timely manner and time is money to you like it is to me....then I suggest you look elsewhere. What kind of business doesn't have the courtesy or professionalism to return your calls and send you a bid after 2 weeks?
