Amazing Thai food here! Based on the food alone, I'd easily give Glin five of five stars: - The Thai dumplings were outstanding, I don't even know how they were able to pack each one with so much meat. Flavors were so savory, and the dumping was the perfect texture. - The crab fried rice was amazing, with plenty of large chunks of crab and two amazing sauces that gave just the right kick in terms of spice. - Just like the other two dishes, the pad kee mao was stellar. Chewy noodles, lots of chicken, a little bit of heat. The only downside of the meal was the strange experience we had with the service. They were attentive and responsive, but maybe *too* attentive. Lots of hovering to get us to order fast. They also rushed us out near the end of the meal - first implicitly by bringing the check while both of our mains were still clearly not done (both plates had at least 25% left on each). Then, explicitly, by coming over as we were paying the bill to explain that they needed the table asap. They were kind enough to give us a table for two on a Saturday night, even though we didn't have a reservation. But surely there's got to be a better way to manage capacity, rather than pushing customers out and bringing down an otherwise great experience. read more

Back when this place had Myrtle Ave Restaurant Week, I came here with a small group of friends. The deal was 3 courses for $30 and definitely worth it! The interior was lovely and cozy, decorated with pretty flowers and plants, cool lights, along with interesting artwork. For my drink, I got the Butterfly Pea lemonade, which was a pale purple color. This drink was so refreshing and lightly sweet. I picked the Beef Skewers for my appetizer, served with pickled okra and roasted tomato sauce. The beef was tasty, well seasoned and boasted bold flavor. For my entree, I ordered the Duck Tamarind, which consisted of crispy duck with broccoli, carrot, asparagus, lotus root as well as fried shallots on top. This is absolutely delicious! The duck was perfectly cooked, with the meat being delightfully tender and the skin was delicately crispy. The tamarind sauce was wonderfully full bodied with great depth of flavor. The vegetables were also tasty and added a nice, fresh element to the dish. I had the classic Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. The sticky rice was satisfyingly chewy and there was plenty of condensed milk to enhance the taste of it. The mango was also very soft and juicy. I tried a bit of the Pumpkin Custard, which came with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was an actual steamed slice of real pumpkin, covered in a sweet sauce and coconut flakes. I thought it had a distinct, as well as unique taste, and enjoyed the creamy, milky sauce, combined with the coconut. Service was excellent. The waitress was welcoming and attentive. Incredibly rude male staff handling the phone for orders. My order was set to be delivered by the latest 6:30pm - when I called to inquire about my order, I was asked to wait 10-15 mins for their delivery person to arrive. I waited nearly 40 MINUTES instead to offer grace then called the restaurant back to see what happened. I live 5 blocks away from here and have now waited over an hour for 1 plate of food. Not only that, I'm a mom with a baby and can't leave the house (which is why I ordered delivery). The man handling the phone answered and I told him by now the food would be really cold and what would be my next steps for waiting this long. He told me I would have to walk the food back to the restaurant for a refund. I explained that I couldn't do that due to my situation. He proceeded to get EXTREMELY aggressive with me over the phone. He offered no other solutions and no refund. I've honestly never had this experience there and will definitely not be returning for takeout or dine in. read more

I thought the $15 price was fair for the lunch special when looking at the quantity it good I got. The Pad Se-Ew was good, but nothing amazing. The salad was a nice starter for everything. My new favorite Thai spot. Personal preferences, but I like it more than Soothr. The flavors felt a little more authentic. Their mango cocktail tastes like mango sticky rice without the rice part, but so good. Mangosteen salad was different but unique and very good, especially for the southeast Asian palette. Best Thai chive pancake I've had in New York so far. It was nice and chewy without being burnt inside, and sauce was a good consistency and had a nice little kick of spice. This is an upscale, elevated, Thai dining experience. If you are looking for basic Thai dishes, this is NOT the place for you!! My friend and I decided to check out Glin Thai Bistro at 7pm on a Monday. Reservations were easy to make with Resy, though we probably could have walked in without an issue. The inside is very aesthetic and gram worthy! The menu on their website is not accurate. Check out Lisa D's photo for a more updated menu. My favorite dish is curry, but every curry on their menu has some expensive item in it to justify the price over $20. I also asked the staff what dish was most similar to massamun curry and was recommended khao soi without mentioning the dish by name. If she had just point blank told me she was recommending khao soi, I would have gone with something else, as khao soi's curry base is more like red curry than massamun curry. I was looking at other reviews and they may rotate their menu, which is why they were showing dishes on the iPad without prices and explaining them verbally. It would be helpful to have inserts or a fully updated online menu to get a clearer idea of what is being ordered. This was my biggest issue with the restaurant and something I think should be updated on their end. We ordered soft shell crab ($12), prawn fried rice ($26), khao soi ($26), thai pastry cups ($12), and pumpkin custard ($15). My friend ordered several drinks and commented that they tasted great but were watered down. If you are a fan of soft shell crab, definitely get the appetizer! I thought it had no flavor and absolutely needed the sauce, but my friend enjoyed it. The prawn fried rice and the khao soi were both delicious. Both had excellent flavors and everything was cooked well. The chicken was moist and slid perfectly off the drumsticks. The desserts we had were also not on the menu and were explained using the picture strategy. The pastry cups (katong tong) were not sweet at all, despite me asking the waitress that I loved sweet things. They tasted like eating a nutty health bar. Both of us did not like the taste and could not even finish one puff. The egg custard was tasty inside the pumpkin custard, but it was nothing special. Service was very accommodating. We had many check backs and the water always got refilled. The staff also took much care to explain all the dishes. I was just bothered by the recommendations that were suggested as they were not aligned to what I had asked for. It may have been a communication issue, which is why having the rotating dishes with descriptions could be helpful. My family found our new favorite Thai restaurant in Brooklyn. All the dishes were recommended from the chef and Wynn. All the staff were so kind and helpful in choosing our dishes and creating our drinks. I absolutely loved the colors of all the drinks we ordered and my favorite was the Naree's. For food, everything was incredible. I was obsessed with the short rib. It just fell off the bone and the spicy ramen with it was just perfection. The whole branzino fish with mango on top was so incredible. Don't forget to get their homemade dessert! We will definitely be back soon for more delicious food and drinks. Service was exceptional. The chive pancake had an amazing crispy exterior and chewy interior. The pomelo salad was unique and I loved the crispy bite. The Kee mao short rib was a little dry but the ramen on top was so delicious it made up for it. The prawn curry was flavorful, but could be spicier. I came by twice in a week with friends, and family-styled the pomelo salad, chicken wings, short rib, goong karee, pla neung manow, ghang pu, crying tiger, and kra pow nuer (fave). I love that the cooks rework classic dishes with better/seasonal ingredients. The servers were all attentive and really cared that we had a good time. It can get a bit warm in the summer without ventilation, but I'll be coming back in the fall/winter soon. Was excited to try this place with such high praises in the reviews on here, but honestly it was just ok. Tried the pad Thai and pad see ew. The pad Thai noodles were thinner than I'm used to so stuck together in clumps. The taste was off, not too sweet like Americanized pad thai, but just not right. The pad see ew was one of their best sellers so got that as well. The flavor was alright, nothing to write home about, but the chicken was low quality. Had multiple chewy pieces. Won't be ordering from here again. Was only trying it out as Thaiholic a few doors down has been less consistent the past few months. Chicken Pad Thai was delicious. It needed more chicken though. When we requested more we were told we couldn't order more. You have to order extra chicken when you place the order. We get that dish often at a Thai restaurant. Never needs more chicken. If you love that dish know to order extra chicken when you order. The dumplings have a thick wrap on them. The crab curry was creamy and delicious, and the steamed fish was light and the lime sauce enhanced its flavor in a refreshing manner. From the ambiance to the culinary experience it is the best Thai restaurant in NY. The drinks are so pretty and delicious. We took Wynn's recommendation with food and it was incredible. Not one dish was bad that we ordered from his recommendations. Every dish was amazing. I really loved the Crispy Duck. Every bite had crispness. The Short Rib with the Ramen was out of this world. It's so tender that I couldn't stop eating it. The ramen had a little kick and it was so perfect with the meat. The Spicy Shrimp is a must try. I frequently do takeout from Glin and it is always a great and consistent experience. My favorite dish by far is the goong karee which is not easy to find at Thai restaurants.
