thank you come again is a thai restaurant located in the downtown brooklyn marketplace. this was my first time checking it out, and i opted for the panang curry with chicken. the dish was wonderful. it had a warm spice and was a decent portion size, though it is a bit more on the expensive side. i believe it was $20 for one curry, and it does take time to make. i waited about 15 to 30 minutes for the dish because it is made fresh. i liked that i was able to modify it to remove peppers and onions. there are a few seats right at the restaurant, but otherwise the market hall has chairs all around. the meal met my expectations. i will say it was a bit more on the heavier side with oil. overall, it's a good option in the market hall. read more

I would give this place a 3.5 because the food was good (not amazing, not bad, but good), but the service was lacking. When I arrived I waited for awhile for the employee to finish chatting with someone who I think might have been a frequent customer, but I was still deciding what to get so it was okay. When it was my turn she told me the GF dumplings weren't available but the regular ones were. I'm not sure how that would make my eating options better but I just smiled and then stared at the menu to figure out what else I could eat. Once I ordered and while I ate she sat at the register with her back to me the whole time. I guess that's better than someone staring at me eat lol. At least she was within ear shot for me to ask when I wanted a knife. She said no and walked away to the food station next to theirs, I was so hopeful that she would ask them for a knife for me but came back without a word. Thank You Come Again, what a cool name for a Thai place in the Fulton Street mall. This place is very cozy and pretty with high chairs. Got lots of flowers in the ceiling making it very pretty. There is a self checkout kiosk that makes ordering seamless and fast. I was really hungry from shopping and I got myself a pork bao bun, which costs $6 and it got mayo, hoisin, scallions, and cucumbers. Very tasty especially when it comes to the mayo, making it very sweet. It was filled with salad and crispy wonton chips on the side, which is a plus! On National Dumpling Day, I ended up coming here to satisfy my craving. I decided to go with the cute girlie option of Mini Fried Dumplings! It came with 25 bite sized dumplings with a sweet vinegar dipping sauce. Bite size goodness! The filling is juicy and flavorful with a solid pan fried crust. Paired them with a Singha & I was golden. The food was tasty & hot, a little expensive. Grandkids (2) had an order of pork mini-dumplings, pan fried crispy, very good, 25 mini dumplings for $10 each. My wife & I shared the HOBO NOODLES, a wide rice noodle sautéed with chicken, also very tasty, around $17.00, like. CHOW FEUN. I agree that Dekalb Market offers a lot of variety & does have a certain vibe, but the vibe is not for me. First of all, the music is way too loud, speakers blasting to an unbeatable decibel level, then it's very crowded & people are constantly bumping and jousting you, finally there's a shortage of seating. I was upstairs shopping and felt a little peckish, so I went and saw thank you come again. I'd bookmark them when they were in a different location so I was glad that I got a chance to try them out. I ended up getting the spring rolls and a thai iced tea. The prices are a bit higher than other places, but the location makes for this. At the advisory of the cashier the spring rolls she said would be more flavourful than the shrimp rolls. I will say, they pretty good, The sauce is what made it. It was clear, which I'd never seen before and it was sweet but tangy. Amazing! The Thai iced tea was good and strong, like it really should be. I'll be back soon to try more dishes. read more

The more I visit the dekalb market the more happy I am. Tried this Thai gem and boy was it amazing. First off the shrimp fried rice to die for. I was alil skeptical because it had raisins and cashews in it but man oh man those ingredients were a perfect addition to that rice, also big chunks of pineapple, great flavor, great texture. I love it. The fried shrimp rolls also good, great dipping sauce. The mini dumplings were so good I'm mad I got them mini and not regular size next time I'll get the normal size but the minis were cute and had a great portion of meat inside as well as a good taste. Stopped by for a quick meal before shopping at TJ's, and got the Spicy Hobo (drunken noodles) with chicken ($14) and the Iced Fresh Ginger drink ($4). It was quite busy during the lunch rush (around 1:30pm) and got my food after ~15 min. The noodles were delish but they were scalding hot! Temperature wise, not spice wise. You would 100% burn your mouth/esophagus if you weren't careful. Kind of annoying for someone who was getting hangry during the wait and wanted to scarf down the food right away, but I was reluctantly patient, blew on the noodles and ate my meal very slowly. But also kind of awesome for those who order for delivery or don't eat until hours later - I'm sure it'd still be very warm then. Noodles were also a bit on the oilier side, but great mildish kick to it and so much wok hay. I highly recommend their mini dumplings which are the perfect little snack, and so addictive. I also really liked their classic country noodle - it's flavorful, not overpowered with sauces, and surprisingly light - I just wish it came with more than three shrimps! Funny because it's still quite difficult to find fully gluten free Thai food here in the States, but it's the exact opposite in Thailand, where gluten free food is easily found on damn near every street corner. I wasn't even hungry, but a new vendor in Dekalb Market Hall? With a big sign that promised Super Fresh Dumplings? I'll never not stop for that. This new spot is slanging soup dumplings (and non-soup dumplings), skewers with various meats, fried rice, and noodles...all sorts of Asian favorites that seem to run the gamut from Shanghai to Bangkok. It seems like a family biz, with grandmas cooking in flower print, and the younger generation handling the front facing side, and everyone super friendly. I rocked the classic pork soup dumplings ($7 for 4), because I'm a classic kind of guy. First off, I would believe the nice lady when she tells you it's really hot. I burned the bejesus out of my mouth on the first one. I only mildly singed my tongue on the second, and I properly enjoyed the last two. FYI: their house dumpling sauce isn't as vinegary as is traditional, but rather sweet and a little spicy, like a hot honey. Different, but good. Anyway, I liked the soup dumplings, and I'm going to listen to the nice lady that reminds me of my grandmother and come back soon to try everything else. read more

I can't let Peter D. be the only reviewer for a dumpling place. I mean, this is the food of my people. I have really truly been craving pan fried dumplings in the neighborhood, so I'm pretty excited already to have my comfort food closer to home. Thank You Come Again is a Chinese dumpling place, that has a pretty big menu if you'd care to read it. The decor is a little kitschy, but the flavors and people are legit. The YiYi behind the counter was super excited to hear me speak Cantonese and we had a nice little chat. The menu it's also very snackable and priced accordingly, which makes it a win for what is a pretty expensive food hall. Today I ordered the pork mini dumplings (25 for $7?!) It's like popcorn shrimp for dumplings. They're tiny quarter coin sized morsels of goodness with the perfect ratio of carbs to meat, fat and salt and dough. They are perfect toddler food, like goldfish crackers. The flavors were on point and the serving size was just right. I'm excited to try more of the menu (they do soup dumplings, gluten free dumplings, stir fry, fried rice, ho fun/stir fried broad noodles, soup, fried appetizers, and even specialty drinks.) I think I will go for a beef ho fun next, assuming I'm translating the menu correctly. I do think having a menu on the counter would be helpful - it's hard to really digest the menu while staring at the wall and trying to avoid looking like you're checking out the cashier. It used to be one of absolute favorites for Thai and Chinese in the area thanks to its passionate and hard-working owner, who owns several other dining establishments in the city. I've stopped by the Dekalb Market Hall a couple of times to pick up a quick dinner during the week. I've had Thank You Come Again twice--once I ordered the Spicy Hobo, a noodle dish that uses the same noodles as the Pad Si Eew. You have options for a choice of protein, and I got the shrimp. The shrimp that they have are big! It's a nice sweet but spicy flavor, and I really appreciated the consistency of the rice noodles. The second time I came to pick up dinner, I decided to try the pineapple fried rice and chose shrimp as my choice of protein, which came with the usual large shrimp. It was slightly on the sweeter side but still tasted pretty good, especially when I added dollops of Sriracha to it. One thing I really appreciate about Thank You Come Again are the portion sizes. They definitely don't skimp out. When I go to pick up my order, I am pleasantly surprised by how heavy the bag is, especially when I've only ordered one entree. I usually call in my order or you can place a pick up order online, but if you decide to go order in person, they're pretty quick to prepare your food. I think this is going to be one of my staple places to order weekday dinners from. Also, Dekalb Market partners with Apple Pay, and if you go during the week, you can get 20% off if you pay with Apple Pay, which is pretty clutch. read more

Delicious! May be located in a basement food court, but this is the quality you would expect from any full restaurant. High quality, fast service, and a reasonable price for the area. Tons of vegetarian options as well. My only note is that the "spicy" items on the menu are pretty mild (maybe 2 stars on a traditional scale, well balanced, just not hot) so definitely ask for more spice if you want to cry. This dining experience was a mess from start to finish. I came here on a quiet Thursday night craving soup dumplings and was relieved to find this particular stall completely empty. Shorter wait and and more attentive service, right? Wrong. After being completely ignored for about five minutes by the woman at the counter chatting away on her cellphone until another employee got her attention, a fifteen minute wait for an order of four soup dumplings came next. Again, no other customers in sight, and I might as well mention that there were three employees working. Once the dumplings finally came out, more disappointment followed. The dumplings were quite small, which really made their price tag quite unjustified, and their bottoms were all stuck to the dish. As I attempted to lift them, the bottom would rip off, causing all the insides to fall out. Now I say "fall out" rather than "pour out" because there wasn't any actual broth inside that I was hoping to find. Worst of all, the pork inside was completely RAW! The employee who made these raw pork dumplings offered to attempt again, but at that point I had wasted enough of my time and had other places to be. I was not offered a refund. I have eaten here and felt the food was bland but that is not the focus on my review. I came to city point with my young daughter. We got food from a place next door and there weren't any seating. They had two chairs that were in the middle of the isle, further from this place so I took them. We intended to sit a total of 5 minutes for my daughter to eat. The woman working at this facility approaches me and.. not asked.. but started screaming so loud that we took two of her chairs. When I tried to explain that they were from the other side, she pushed me (hard) out of the way to grab the chairs out of my hands. Even if I had taken her chairs, there are many ways to ask- had she approached me and explained the situation, I would have purchased food from this establishment to use these chairs. Screaming and completely losing it and pushing me so hard that I fell over, is entirely inappropriate, unprofessional and not to mention assault. It tasted very fresh and healthy and had ... what I'm most excited for... mini dumplings in it! I've been countless places and have never seen cute little Mini dumplings in soup. Overpriced for the quality of food that you get. We waited ~ 25-30 min for a bowl of noodles that tasted pretty mediocre.

From the exterior, I'd say this restaurant looks like a typical Chinese restaurant with red and yellow accents so I walked by it without much thought. Luckily for me, my girlfriend really loves noodles and she said she wanted to try it. To be completely honest, I had my doubts considering the competition was strong! From the very first bite, the sautéed glass noodles were mind bogglingly delicious! At first glance, the dish looks like a variation of Pad Thai, which I already love so dearly. However, I'd have this dish over pad thai any day because it's so flavorful and the noodles are not too thin or too thick. Throughout the day, I've tried many dishes at the Dekalb Market, but this beats every dish I had by a mile and then some. If you stop by in the dining area, you have to try this dish. New dumpling joint in the Dekalb food court! The food is super fresh made to order, and they seem to be using premium ingredients and take much care to the way they prepare and serve their food. We started our order with the pork soup dumplings (4 pc). They were amazing, full of flavor, the wrapper was thin and the portion of the meat - paired perfectly. My only complaint is that it's hard to eat soup dumplings with a paper plate. Next up we got the fried mini pork dumplings (25 pc) which were also very flavorful. It's too bad they don't offer other size options. If they did I was just sit and eat my weight in dumplings. And that's it friends - those were the only two things we tried.
