So the food here was incredible and easily 5 stars but they lose a lot on the quality of service. I'm not even hard to please, go see my review history I'm generous with my stars but I was really appalled at the service here. First off even with my resy reservation we were seated in these tiny booths right next to the kitchen where we were promptly ignored and forgotten the entire dinner. Every little thing we needed I had to flag somebody down- we were sat down a whole 20min with just the drink menu with nobody checking on us. The table that sat next to us had food menus so I asked if they could take our drink order and give us menus and she said oh just scan the barcode here. I wish you would have told me to do that when you sat us down? Or put a little table notification in the center with the barcode front and center. I asked why the table next to us have physical menus and she said oh that's limited. Our appetizer came fast but that's where we were again ignored and forgotten- the entrees took 45min to come out. We sat at 745 and didn't get entrees till 855. Meanwhile the same table next to us who sat after us had received and finished their entrees long before we got ours. I don't know how that's acceptable service... To add insult to injury after of course flagging another person down (which by the way is difficult because this seating area is ignored by servers) to get our check the minimum tip % was 20. What happened to 18? It's a shame, because the food genuinely deserves 5 stars. The appetizer and curry were some of the best I've had. But being seated in a forgotten section, waiting 45 minutes for entrees while a table seated after us finished theirs, and then having a 20% tip minimum built in on top of that service made for a really frustrating night. read more

Came here for dinner and ordered duck curry, pomelo salad, Pla Lui Suan fish and other dishes. Thinking about it the pomelo salad was not necessary because the Pla Lui Suan fish already had salad. The extra salad was redundant. The fish was crispy, great, and amazingly made. It was the best dish of the night. The duck curry was on the other hand disappointing. The meat was incredibly tender and literally fell off the bone. It could have used a punch more of seasoning, but the texture was perfect. Overall a delicious Thai place good for date nights or small hangs. I've been here a couple times, for weekday dinner. Once for a table of 2 and once for a table of 5, and I've never had to wait for a table (though the whole party must be present to be seated). My favorites have been the duck curry and pad Thai. The fried branzino is also good and I really like the mangoes and sauce, it just wasn't as big as I was expecting. The tom yum hot pot had a good amount of seafood in it, and the crab fried rice is solid. The portions are decent, but both times I've wished there was more food. The main dishes come with rice though which is nice! They have a pretty good happy hour deal: $5 for beers, $7 for wine, and $11 for cocktail (limited options). There is one restroom. Booked a Saturday night reservation for 2 people. I don't recall if there were many open tables, but I booked the reservation about 4 hours before our eating time. We were seated at the back after waiting for a few seconds. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 The back of the restaurant has stronger ventilation, so wear a sweater if you are susceptible to lower temperatures. The bathroom is even colder, but relatively clean (barring the customer that left a mess of the toilet). The hand dryer was above the trash can, so make sure the hand dryer isn't being used while the trash is open. Service: 5/5 The service was immaculate. We were given an adequate time to select our drinks then food. Our water was poured and refilled regularly. The staff asked us about our food and status regularly. Our waitress kindly lent a hand when my friend and I were rearranging plates. Food: 3.5/5 Personally, I was slightly disappointed with our dishes. The Thai Ice Tea was pretty creamy. Our Chicken Satay was alright and the accompanied cucumber salad was refreshing, but the peanut butter sauce kept falling off. The Broccolini was a decent fiber dish, so I suggest ordering at least 2 plates for larger parties. My friend was satisfied with the Kra Pow Nuer because of its generous amount of meat and tasty onions. I got the monstrous Kee Mao Short Rib. The meat was lavishly tender, juicy, and fatty, but the star of the dish was the ramen noodles. I didn't taste any seasoning on the short rib itself, so it was essentially just a lot of meat on a stick. I'm the type of person who likes sauces with their steak, so it wasn't my ideal type of meat forward dish. The ramen noodles gave bites of sweetness and saltiness, and the snip of peppercorn was a pleasant palette cleanser. The Thai basil on both plates also added a great crunchy texture. Multiple staff members gave their thanks as we exited the restaurant. If I were able to give this place 10 stars, I would. As soon as I saw Michelin Star on the door, I disregarded the Korean spot on the corner and dashed in. I was floored by the service, presentation, and absolutely authentic flavor of the food. Every dish was a work of art. As if the chef painstakingly labored to have the dish coming to the table be a mirror of the picture on the digital menu. It was like the picture animated itself into real life with robust and rich flavoring. I bless this place with overwhelming abundance and positive vibes. The atmosphere was nice and upscale but not pretentious. Everyone there as customers appeared as if they were about the foodie life but in a grown up way. I've been to Glin Thai Bistro a few times and it never misses. First off, the ambience is beautiful and cozy. The only downside is some of the tables are quite close together. The service is fast and friendly, and I love how they have a happy hour. In terms of the food, I've gotten their duck curry, pad thai, and pad se-ew. I usually don't eat duck or thai curry but I absolutely loved the flavor. I wasn't even that hungry but I could not stop eating given how delicious everything was. This place is REALLY good, the food is really a tier above other Thai in Brooklyn. It is a strong 4 stars. We were there for the happy hour and got 2 margaritas each. They were very good but predominantly ice lol. And then we got the chive pancakes as an app, these were particularly fantastic. I got a vegan mushroom dish that when I ordered it was like "ahh am I gonna regret getting mushrooms for dinner." But NO! It was sooo good. It has a red white type sauce that really sews all the flavors together. My boyfriend got a red curry that he absolutely adored - perfectly spicy and creamy and flavorful. Overall, giving this 4 stars because even though the food was delightful, the experience felt incredibly rushed. It was a Saturday night so perhaps they needed to turn the table over, but we had 2 rounds of drinks, an appetizer, and entrees and were in and out of the restaurant in 45 minutes. I came here for dinner with friends and it was amazing. The place is pretty cozy with seats in the front and back but highly recommend making reservations to secure a table. We did family style dining and ordered a bunch of stuff to share. The mangosteen salad and pomelo salad were both excellent. The papaya salad was good but pretty standard so I would skip. I love they allow you to order adjusting to your spice level. Very helpful. The Broccolini Fai Daeng is also very delish with a good 'wok hey' flavor. The Fried whole de-boned branzino was really good and crispy and eaten with the dipping sauce, excellent! The crispy duck curry was FREAKING AMAZING! We didn't know what to expect but it blew us away. We cleared the plate and used the curry to eat with the rest of the rice. The crab meat fried rice was also good. Simple clean flavor with big chunks of real crab meat. Eat it with that green sauce! The Kee Mao Short Rib was good but not our fav. Mostly because compared to other dishes, it wasn't as flavorful. For dessert, we ordered all 3 available which was the mango sticky rice, the taro custard and the taro balls with coconut milk. Glin was rated as one of the highest rated Brooklyn restaurants a few years back and ever since then it has been on my radar! I've never made my way here because I thought it got very busy on Friday/Saturdays. Happened to be in the area early on a Sunday so popped in after a long day at the park nearby. They had a happy hour for some glasses of wine/aperol spritzes so had to indulge. With one other person we ordered the wings as an appetizer, crab fried rice, as well as the braised pork belly. Wings were very good-- if you like any sort of Thai chicken wing these will not disappoint. The crab fried rice was okay in my opinion. I think I was hoping for a bit of spice in it, but the crab chunks were large and it didn't taste like it had MSG which can be refreshing. The star of the meal was absolutely the pork belly dish. Loved the fried Thai basil on top. The meat was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. It paired great with white rice. Would come back just for this dish! Honestly would like to come back to explore more of the menu with a group so we can try a bunch of stuff. Oh, also great service here. I made a reservation about 30 minutes before dropping in. They were able to accommodate and find a great table for me. Everyone from the wait staff to the chefs was friendly and warm. The retaurant itself utilized every square inch of space, creating a cozy and intimate environment. Perfect for a small group dinner, or a date with that special someone. For the entrees, I ordered shrimp Pad Thai and duck Curry. The shrimp Pad Thai was delicious. They managed to load the glass noodles with flavor, which complimented the large, juicy, perfectly cooked shrimp. The duck Curry is the best Thai dish I've ever had. The BEST I'VE EVER HAD. I asked for it to be served spicier than normal, and I'm glad I did. The spice complimented the flavor bomb that was the curry. The pineapples, fresh okra, and lychees in the curry were top tier. Aperol Spritz is orange flavored with mild alcohol and some sweetness. 7/10 Thai Iced coffee is milky and sweet. 7/10 Curry Puffs are so good with a thin flaky crust and it's packed with lots of sweet filling on the inside. 9/10 The Tum Mang Kud (Mangosteen Salad) is very refreshing and light with great flavor. Mangosteen is hard to find at a good price so this is great. 9/10 Ghang Phed Ped Yang (Duck Curry) has a super crispy skin and a moist meat with sweet curry sauce including pineapple and long an fruit to give it an extra fruity sweetness. 8/10 Khao Pad Mun Goong (Prawn Fried Rice) is very savory and comes with sauces to spice things up. The prawns are more cooked than I prefer but very tasty nonetheless. The rice is enhanced because it absorbs a lot of flavor. 8/10 Kee Mao Short Rib was gigantic. The outer skin has a crispy char and the inner meat was soft, falling off the bone. It's not seasoned like the other dishes though, this is more for people who prefer the natural meat flavor. The ramen topping was fun to eat. 7/10. Mango Sticky Rice had sweet fresh mango topping and soft sweet rice on the bottom. 7/10 Lod Chong I-Tim is a block of pandan coconut ice cream surrounded with some cereal and cream. It's like shaved ice but you gotta do the shaving with your spoon. 7/10. Staff was excellent. Service was fast. Cherry helped us pick which items to order and we were happy with the selections. The staff was very nice and they helped us celebrate a birthday as well! Credit card accepted, they come to your table with a hand held credit card machine you just have to pick a tip. Easy payment. Few flavors of delicious Thai cuisine have hit me as much as these did as soon as I took my first bite. The mangosteen salad was a rich, juicy, sweet and spicy way to start off the meal. Then we moved on to the kee mao short rib, which blended together the tender meat of the beef with the crunchy basil leaves. The duck curry was a great main, but we kept coming back to the short rib; I kept wanting to alternate so that it would be my last bite. We had an excellent meal at Glin. Came in for dinner as a party of 2 on a Monday and were seated immediately. Their signature drinks looked interesting and were discounted for happy hour, so I got the Passionfruit mojito and the Mekong old fashioned. The mojito was my favorite of the two. We ordered the duck curry and the pamelo prawn curry- both of them were delicious. The duck had some lychees in the dish which added a twist of sweetness, and set it apart from Thai curries I've had previously. I had never heard of pamelo before (it's a fruit) and that added some sweetness to the prawn curry. Both dishes were marked as medium heat level but that scale is definitely for white people, as they were both mild heat in my opinion. We were too full for dessert, but I couldn't resist the frozen slushie Thai tea so they put it in a to go cup for me. Fast, pleasant service and a nice, quiet (but not too quiet!) ambiance. We tried Papaya Salads, Soft shell crab, Cray pot rice and Spicy shredded beef. They were absolutely delicious!! I was able to walk in for an early dinner on a Saturday night for a table of 2. The restaurant was empty at the start, but filled up quickly as the night went on. We got a papaya salad to start, which was not spicy at all. I've never had one with the fried shrimp or fresh green beans, and I wasn't that big of a fan of the papaya salad. I love how there was a lot of sauce - it was full bodied, full of different ingredients that you could taste, like small chunks of garlic, onion and celery. I have ordered this dish from a number of Thai restaurants, and nobody gets creates a sauce like this one from Glin! The Kra Pow Nuer had too much gristle / fat for my liking and the beef tasted slightly unflavored, but it was still an interesting dish. I also wish their Panang was slightly less spicy. I went to this well regarded Thai restaurant a long while ago with one of my groups where we shared a bunch of dishes. It seems a lot of the poorer reviews are either for delivery which I honestly don't really count as it's not their fault or it's for generic American style Thai good such as Pad Thai so for people who are actually ordering good Thai food, it's even more stellar than the average which is already high. The staff here was friendly and attentive even when the restaurant got more crowded. They have a particularly good cocktail menu for a Thai spot being both reasonably priced and well flavored with the prices becoming even more reasonable during happy hour as they're all $10 for the signature cocktails instead of the usual $14 to $15. I had the Topaz with mezcal, yuzu, mango, lime, and orange bitter which was excellent with a bit of smokiness, some sweetness, and a hint of bitterness. Other people enjoyed the Prik Khing which is a spicy cocktail with chili infused Tito's vodka, the Tub Tim which has Thai moonshine (presumably ya dong), and someone thought the Mekong; their take on an Old Fashioned; was alright. We shared and a lot of food but unfortunately a lot of my photos did not come well. The Som Tum Thai/Papaya Salad for $15 with papaya, string beans, tomato, peanut, lime, and chili was pretty good here and well portioned. It could have been a bit spicier but I'm very used to the Isan style which is almost too chili focused. Otherwise, it wasn't overly sweet and just well balanced. The largest plate was the Pla Neung Manow for $36 with a steamed whole de-boned branzino fish with chili, lime, cilantro, and culantro (i.e. sawtooth coriander) in chili lime broth and it was decent. The fish was nice and tender and the broth had a good herbal flavor but it could have used a bit more heat. The Crying Tiger for $32 with grilled strip loin, toasted rice powder, and fried garlic served with sticky rice, fresh dill, and Thai spicy sauce was my favorite. Nicely cooked tender steak with a good version of Nam Jim Jaew; the chili sauce served on the side. It's a bit worse than a few spots in Queens but that's comparing Fort Greene to larger Thai areas which is almost a bit mean. The other best dish was the Ghang Phed Ped Yang for $26 or Duck Curry with crispy half duck, lychee, pineapple, tomato, bell pepper, basil, curry paste, and coconut milk. Again, the meat was well cooked and the curry which I'm presuming was a Penang/Phanaeng curry; a specific type of red curry; had a good mix of sweetness and spiciness. It was also nice to not just have pineapple but lychee as well with the only other spot I know doing it this way being one of my favorite Thai spots period, Sa Ran Rom (oops mentioning Elmhurst again.) The Crab Fried Rice for $26 with crab meat, rice, egg, scallion, cilantro, and cucumber served with chili lime sauce and chili fish sauce was a particularly tasty version. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Thai style fried rice but the one here had good texture and flavor from the wok and plenty of lump crab meat with the fish sauce and chili sauce adding some good extra heat and sourness when needed. Also with crab was the Ghang Pu Crab Curry for $25 or Crab meat with Thai southern curry. The version here wasn't too sweet and had a mild kick (could have been a bit spicier.) It wasn't as good as Pranakhon but the prices were more reasonable and again there was a good amount of crab meat for the price. We were going to get the Khua Kling/spicy minced flank beef but they didn't appear to have it on the menu anymore so we got the Khao Soi for $26 instead with egg noodles, red onion, cilantro, and pickled mustard greens with chicken leg quarters in a red curry coconut broth. I've had this in plenty of Thai spots and the version here was solid. Again the meat was well cooked and the sauce wasn't too sweet and it was a pretty solid version of this dish. Also with chicken was probably the weakest dish; the Pad See Ew for $17 with chicken, flat noodles, egg, and Chinese broccoli. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the dish but the price was a bit high for being only marginally better than takeout and some of the pieces of chicken unlike everything else were a bit gummy. As mentioned above, the weakest dishes here described by others are the generic Thai dishes and this kind of fits that bill perfectly as well. We had two desserts which were around $15, the Mango Sticky Rice and the Pumpkin Custard. My preference of the two was the pumpkin custard as expected as this is one of my favorite Thai desserts but the mango was surprisingly sweet for that time of year/January. They were both good with decent portions. The food here is a bit pricier than many of the other Thai spots but the flavors are solid. There is another Thai spot I prefer pretty heavily in Brooklyn called Boran as well as the recently opened location of Zabb PuTawn near me as well but solid. Out of review space. Low 4 read more

A solid spot serving up Thai food in Fort Greene. We had our Thanksgiving lunch there and all dishes won our rounds of applause. ＊ Curry Puff*** With every bite we tasted the minced chicken and potatoes wrapped in the flakey baked crust. The curry was on a sweeter side, so don't worry even if you can't handle spicy food. They were too delicious that left us wishing for more. ＊ Gai Tod It's their most popular appetizer, and the hype is real! It came with 6 huge wings. Generously sprinkled with fried garlic and chili flakes, it had a slight hint of spice coming through. The spice was balanced out after dipping into the sweet brown sauce. The skin was crisped to golden brown, while the meat was still tender. ＊ Short Ribs Kee Mao*** Seasonal Special. A must order item. We were in awe when we saw how gigantic the portion was. The braised short ribs were fall-apart tender. You can tell they used good quality meat--they don't excessively marinate the beef and it still tasted delectable. The stir-fried noodles were coated with complex layers: it was tossed with crispy fried basil and chili peppers, while the lime sauce gave it a distinctive flavor and reduced greasiness. ＊ Crab Fried Rice*** Crab fried rice is a hit or miss, heavily depending on the seasoning, rice texture and "wok hei". Apparently Glin hit the mark brilliantly. They didn't skimp on crabmeat--we enjoyed every bite of fried rice with big chunks of crab. ＊ Coconut Pandan Ice Cream Seasonal Special. I couldn't stop eating the coconut whipped cream with cereal flakes. It was the perfect topping for pandan dessert. read more
