HORRIBLE service. My daughter (Black) and her friends (white, Black, and Latina) were shopping for dresses to wear to another friend's quinceañera. First, the staff were side-eyeing all the non-white girls and whispering to each other. When my daughter was in the dressing room trying on a dress, an associate started banging on the door, yelling that she was taking too long, and insisting on "helping" her tie the straps. She did so, told my daughter that the dress was pretty, then ordered her to take it off. My daughter went back in the dressing room to change back into her clothes; as she was changing the woman barged into the dressing room and insisted on "helping" her undo the straps. She noticed my daughter's insulin pump and asked what it was. My daughter told her, and the woman told her that if she lost weight, her diabetes would go away. MY DAUGHTER IS AN *UNDERWEIGHT* TYPE 1 DIABETIC! She also didn't let the non-white girls try on more than one dress. One of the other girls (Black) wanted to try on a quince dress, but the woman yelled at her and told her it wasn't her culture. We will NEVER shop here again, and will actively discourage others from doing so. read more

I have been going to glitzy for my formal gowns for a few years now. Not only is it a dress store, the owner is awesome at helping me find the perfect dress that is flattering to my figure. If it's not in stock in the color I'm looking for she will order it for me. Not only did I utilize her for my gowns, I also had my gowns for my bridesmaids for my upcoming wedding ordered through her. She is helpful, and amazing as not only a shop owner but someone who understands women's figures, and what is flattering. She has always been friendly and gives me the best advice. I hope she never retires because I don't know what I would do without glitzy to turn to! read more

Rude!Worst Service Ever! They give you dirty looks when you walk in, they are rude and don't even want to help you, God forbid you touch any of the gowns. We went in looking for dresses for a 15. We wanted my niece to try on a gown and they refused to let her try it on because they heard us mention LA. She said "you can't try it on because you're just going to go buy it it LA, I heard you" I was like Lady we didn't say that and we have more then 15 dresses we are looking to buy!! She was so rude and began to kick us out of the store. We had kids with us. We had asked if a dress came in another color and she said no! We asked if we could order it and she said no! We were just starting our search for dresses but I will never set foot in this store again!! They shouldn't even be allowed to operate in the mall with that type of customer service! The customer service here is awful!! I was the only customer in the store, I asked to try on a couple of dresses. She told me I couldn't try on more than 2...first warning sign. When I showed her the first dress I wanted to try on she said "what's it for?" ..I told her I was attending a ball and she said "this is a very formal dress..are you sure it's right for you?" I again repeated that I was going to a ball. I was assessing the fit and she starts telling me how they have the best prices and I'm not going to find this dress anywhere else so I might as well get it at this price ($250). The second dress I showed her to try on I asked her for a size 3/4, and she responded "Oh no, you need a 5/6, you're definitely not a 3/4." ...I just had to laugh that one off because like what? So i go to try on the dress and low and behold I needed a 3/4. Instead of assisting me with a smaller size she goes on and on about how I should just get this one because they have the "best price". I told her again I like the dress but it was a little too big and I wanted to try the 3/4. She completely ignores me again and continues insisting that I need to buy the 5/6 because i'm not going to find it anywhere else. I informed her that I had actually seen this same dress at a different store yesterday for cheaper but they didn't have my size. So the price isn't my concern, the size is. She came over and unzipped the dress off me and said "then leave, and go there"! At this point i'm just looking at her because WHAT!! I wasn't trying to be rude I was just simply trying to inform her that I needed the smaller size (which she had) and her trying to pressure me to buy the incorrect size simply because they have the "lowest" price wasn't going to fly. I wanted to buy the dress from her, I just wanted a smaller size! But she was so ugly and rude in her reaction And the way that she was speaking to me that I quickly got out of there. It is very negative vibes in that store. Extremely uncomfortable shopping experience. I ended up going to Santee Alley and luckily found the same dress in the correct size for almost $100 cheaper. Santee Alley in dtla has all the exact same dresses as this store for CHEAPER and a lot less attitude! read more

This lady has body shamed 2 of my friends. It's wrong her store is still open. She needs to get removed from the mall. i went here to look for a prom dress and the owner was extremely rude. i tried on a dress and asked my friend to help me tie it because it was a corset top. the owner came over and insisted that she be the one to help me which i was not ok with. she didn't ask to touch me and instead just started touching my boobs. it was extremely uncomfortable. i then wanted to try another dress but she told me not too because i was "playing around". i was literally very much considering buying the dress i just wanted to see it in a different color but now i want nothing to do with the store. the dresses are also incredibly low quality. it also happened to my friend without their consent so it isn't just an isolated experience. do. not. go. here. read more

I came here for my wedding dress in 2016. I didn't want to spend $$$ for a dress that I just wear one time at the ceremony. I came here without having any idea and they have so many cute dresses! I understand they're prom or some school party type dresses, BUT I found a perfect "white" dress! I'm not tall so their selection is good for you if you're like me. They actually sell a vail too (which I didn't buy here, but they have it). The Asian ladies...hmm could be a typical Asian mama, but not "rude." You'll know what I'm talking about if you've been to K-town or Chinatown. Maybe not a good attitude at the fashion mall, but they don't treat you bad either. I didn't mind it at all. The worst customer service ever! My daughter wanted to try on a dress for her quinceanera that was on the mannequin. The old asian lady that was working said it was the only one and wouldnt fit her. My daughter found another dress she wish to try one. When she put it on it was a little small and didn't have the ribbon to the corset. I got a diffrent one for her. The asian lady come over very angry and yelling at me. Saying i stole the ribbon. She wanted to check the dressing room. Then opened the door to the fitting room. I yelled at the lady because my 14 year old was in her under clothes. I told my daughter to get dress we are leaving. She made a scene and and was yelling. After planning to have a small and simple wedding the hunt for a wedding dress began. David's bridal and other bridal shops have very limited stock on hand to purchase same day or are simply waaaaay overpriced. After visiting bridal shops and being let down by the prices etc I decided to pay Glitzy a visit. It is located inside Del Amo Mall and when I say they have GORGEOUS dresses you MUST pay them a visit. Whether it be a simple wedding dress or a beautiful gown for whatever the occasion this place HAS IT. The sales woman was beyond amazing, sweet, & helpful! Prices are great ! I definitely will come back for dresses and recommend this store to everyone looking for gowns that are stunning and reasonably priced :) read more

If I could give this a zero star rating I would, the store should not get any business, I recently went with my daughter two days ago to look for prom dresses and the lady in there was extremely rude. There was only one other person in there besides us, she body shamed both my daughter and the other girl that was in the store. Both were looking for prom dresses, the lady from the store wouldn't listen to the other girl who was trying on her dress and instead told her she didn't know anything, then took the dress from her and called her "stupid"!! What kind of service is that?? As soon as I heard her I left the gowns and walked out, didn't purchase anything. I'm not willing to give my money to someone who is undeserving, aside from that gown are expensive, all were above $150, take your business elsewhere, you'll get a better deal and better service! I had a lovely experience at this store while shopping for prom dresses with my mom. The owner was quite helpful and I liked that she did not follow us around when we were picking out dresses for me to try on. I'm quite thin, so I was pleasantly surprised by their selection of xs dresses that actually fit quite nicely. My prom dress has a small dragging train, and she told us not to cut or hem the dress or else it would end up looking quite cheap. She also advised me on wearing heels and showed us these lovely earrings that would look stunning with my dress. We did end up buying them. Overall, I appreciated her extra advice and service!  Her sister was just as equally lovely and was quite patient when I was trying on the dresses. Admittedly, I am a bit surprised at the overwhelmingly negative reviews that other people have left because my experience has been the opposite. read more

I took my boyfriends sister and niece to look at dresses for his mothers upcoming wedding in November. It was difficult finding dresses in their sizes. None of the two ladies assisted us or even offered to help find a better size. When we finally got to a fitting room the woman there grabbed the dresses and told his sister that she wouldn't let her touch the dresses or try them on. And forced me to stay in the room to put the dresses on them. They are ten and seven, and both well behaved. We found a potential dress for them however decided not to get them as they didn't fit the girls properly. As we were leaving the Asian lady with glasses stopped me and said "next time bring their mother so they can buy a dress cuz now I don't know." Last I checked no one is obligated to buy something off someone (especially when it doesn't fit). Rude. read more

These people have the worse customer service ever. I went with my daughter to get jewelry to match her prom dress. I found a non refundable $50 necklace that's worth about $15 dollars. My daughter also wanted to look at some other necklaces that were up high on a display rack. The clerk or lady working behind the counter said it was too busy for her to get it. They refuse to put the necklace on hold so we said we'd come back to try the necklace with the dress and they were ok with that but refused to allow my daughter to try the necklace with the dress. If there was a zero star rating I would give them a zero. We bought a dress here like we have before unfortunately my daughter was sick with a temp and could not attend. The dress clearly had not been worn the tags still on it the bow still tied from the store. The owner said it's my "polish" only store credit. Polish means policy. Clearly English is an issue. I said what if your store closes? She guaranteed it would not. I am not sure how she can guarantee this as stores all over the country are closing with bank accounts much larger than theirs. She was rude not willing to refund my money. I will not be back. DO NOT GIVE them your business. One of the ladies, the younger sister, is insanely disrespectful. I surveyed a dress that was on the wall gently touching it when it came crashing down on my head. She snapped at me and said I don't need to be touching the dresses and that all the dresses that you see up on display are on the racks. She should have asked if I was OK since the hanger hit me and the dress was not properly hung up as a display. We then asked for the dresses that we chose to be placed in a dressing room and she very rudely said that I should just place it on any rack in the most disrespectful tone. We left the dresses on the rack and continued to look around. She later placed them in the dressing room. When my daughter was ready to try them on, the dresses were gone. (The other sister had returned all the dresses back to the racks.) I went to the counter to ask her where the dresses were and I found her eating a corn on the cob at the counter. She said she would go look for them after she was finished washing her hands. She continued to eat the corn so I looked around the store and retrieved the dresses myself and took them to my daughter who was already undressing in the stall. As I walked into the stall, she held the door open. I asked for privacy as my daughter was already half way undressed. She didn't like that I wanted to close the door to the stall so she then threatened us that if we damaged the dress we would have to pay for the dresses. When confronted about how rude she was being, she told us that we did not have to buy a dress from her and she attempted to dismiss us. This experience was so alarming. We have never encountered a business like this. DISGUSTING on so many levels! read more

I have taken my daughter to at least 30 stores in the last five days & Glitzy was a pleasant surprise! Tucked away in the old basement portion of the mall this place is a hidden gem! They had a great selection of dresses, the owners were awesome to work with & the prices were unbelievably competitive. We spent hours in the fashion district of LA searching for a short gown for my daughter's Jr prom, this shop had way more to choose from and they were way nicer too. If you live anywhere near this mall, I would check here 1st for prom dresses!! read more

I had to take a few days before I could write this because I was so upset with the horrible treatment.. My goddaughter and I went looking for her prom dress and the lady told us only 3 dresses at a time, and that was fine with us.. so we found 3 dresses and headed to the dressing room and the lady said I'll help you zip it up, and my goddaughter said, no, my mom can help me.. when my goddaughter opened the door the lady went in front of me into the dressing room with her, completely inappropriate .. This all happened so fast and I told my goddaughter to get dressed, we will never come here again, the lady then grabbed the other dresses and said you can't try these dresses on and she is refusing us service.. She came up to me and my sister and said, " Don't pinch the dress" but we didn't. After that I try the other blue dress on. She said it doesn't fit me at all but really. I had a great experience here. I had spent several hours downtown LA looking for a dress for my son's wedding without success. I just happened by this store in the Del Amo mall and the woman that helped me was friendly and helpful although a bit opinionated. However, we did end up choosing the dress she suggested. I originally wanted to give a 5 star review. However I wasnt happy my last 2 visits. You can find a pretty dress here but some of them are very cheap, even the pricier ones. I picked up a dress to try on and the zipper was broken. Also I don't care for how the staff, owner included, speak to you. She needs to be careful that her words are not shaming curvier women. Absolutely loved this place! Both ladies were super sweet and so helpful. I picked out a beautiful dress for my engagement pictures(exactly what I was looking for!) one told me nicely to try the bigger one first as they are junior sizes and to call her when I was ready to zip up. Owner of the shop just wants to get your money. We went there to get jewelry for a quinceanera a few months before hand and specifically asked her if the jewelry would tarnish and said it wouldn't and said that she would exchange it if it did. Well it tarnished and she didn't want to exchange it. She charges 3 times more for her items that she sells then any where else. You can buy her stuff downtown in the allies! We went there for convenience. If she would have been honest we would have gone back to out stuff there and even spent more money there on other items, but she is a lair and dishonest and just out to make a buck at any cost on her customers!! We'll never shop there again or refer anyone else. read more
