I love Chic and Curvy and will continue shopping with them. I've been a loyal customer since 2013. While they may be a bit pricey, I continue shopping with them mainly because I like the fact that the business is black owned and operated. Also, their items are cute and unique, and they have great customer service. A couple of instances come to mind that I feel exemplify great customer service. First, the dress that I ordered for my daughter's college graduation last year somehow got lost in the mail and between the USPS and my apartment complex, it could not be located. Well, about a week and a half prior to the graduation, I got on the phone with Melissa ( I believe that's her name) and explained the situation to her. She apologized for the situation, asked me to select another item to order, and promised to have it to me in time...and with no extra shipping charge. I did as she asked and received the dress 2 days before graduation! I was elated! The second instance occurred just recently. I purchased a pant suit at full price $52, then noticed that it had been marked down to $25 for a holiday promo....the next day. Well, I felt some type of way about this lol, so I called the boutique and spoke to Desiree'. She was friendly and attentive as she listened to the situation and reviewed my customer history with the store. Because I'm a good customer, she accommodated me by promptly sending me a code for $15 off of my next purchase, which I just used and am now waiting for my order to arrive. I thought this was gracious of her and spoke well to her ability to retain customers. read more

As a curvy girl who wanted to find that special something to wear for engagement photos, I was excited to give to find a great dress that would not only flatter my figure but would be both modest and sexy. After trying on the dress for FIVE MINUTES, I immediately returned it for a different size (heads up - this store offers no refunds, just store credit and you must jump through an UNNECESSARY number of hoops just to send the item back). Once they received the dress, I was emailed saying that the dress was going to be sent back and that the return would not be completed. After a few email exchanges, in which they stated conflicting reasons as to why they would not process the return, I finally had to dispute the charge with my credit card company to make them do their due diligence. By then, I didn't want anything but my money back. It is unfortunate and disappointing that a business - especially one who has received such high marks by ShoppeBlack.com and others - would let their online customers experience such poor service. I WILL NOT be shopping from this retailer again and will encourage others to shop elsewhere as well. read more

I purchased 2 dresses from C&C around 4/25/16. Needless to say I was excited about receiving the dresses because the blue & magenta dress was for an event on 5/29. When he package arrived I tried on both dresses, but noticed something about the second dress wasn't right. I looked at the order I placed online and noticed that the pattern wasn't the same as advertised. I sent an email to C&C letting them know that the dress was different than what was advertised on their website. I then called C&C and spoke with Desirée and she reassured me that I would have the same patterned dress by that time after returning the dress. After so many phone calls and speaking with Aquila she said she would forward my concern to customer service and have a return slip emailed to me. Aquila told me that when I repurchase the dress to call her and let her know that I want the dress with magenta at the top. Why should I have to do that when that's what was advertised?? I just received the email on 5/24 which does not give me time to return the dress and repurchase it. My problem is Customer Service contacted me about the purple dress, but couldn't forewarn me about the patterned dress. Needless to say I'm unhappy and had to purchase another outfit for this event and doubt that they will give me a credit for the returned dress after seeing this review. read more

I have admired the chic and curvy boutique page on ig for a long time. I've ordered a few items from them in the past no problem. The pricing is pretty steep but I love the style of clothing so decided to splurge and buy myself a beautiful tiedye blouse for my upcoming 40th birthday. I recieved it in the mail pretty quickly and realized it was the wrong size. Tried to return and due to the pandemic they informed me they weren't accepting returns, so I ordered another one in my size. Again recieved it fast and kept it in the plastic until a few days before my birthday. Took it out of ther plastic, tried it on and it fit beautifully. I'm taking it off in the mirror and low and behold 2 holes in one armpit and one whole in the other. I paid $68.00 USD each for these blouses and I can't even wear them!! I reached out to customer service again and they have a 3 day return policy. 3 days!! Nowhere is that written on the receipt. I didn't even open the plastic until atleast 2 weeks later. They are taking advantage of customers and using the pandemic as an excuse to not offer returns or store credit for items which are wrong or even items recieved damaged. Their actual store is open for business and their online business is in full boom so they're available to take your money but not with any integrity. Save your money; they're crooks! read more

The store front is cute and small but the selection online is great. I first called to see if the store had the items I looked at on-line. The lady on the line was very nice, took the time to look up each item I wanted, and even recommended an alternate style for a dress that I wanted, but was not in-store. I was pressed for time when I called, with an important holiday event coming up in 24 hours & I was happy to know that anything I order online can be picked up in-store the SAME day, in less than 30 mins!! Loved that option! When I went into the store, the customer service was just as good. The ladies were very helpful & attentive. Customer Service DISGUSTING! I had to return 2 of 3 items purchased almost 2 weeks after I returned them they FINALLY responded to say they cannot be accepted - if the seams are damaged (i.e stretched) or if there are any stains, deodorant stains, perfume, smoke or other odors on the returned item it will not be accepted and will be returned back to you, as we will not be able to give a store credit in these cases. I tried them on and put them right back in the bag emailed for help on how to deal with the return and followed the instructions!. I don't smoke or wear deodorant and they were huge on me! 5 mins literally in and out of the bag! Sooooo disgusted and insulted AND I had been promoting them through work for over 12 months! BUY in store ONLY! they should close down online shopping they simply cannot handle business at that level And not that it mattered to me BUT how can they do a 3 day return policy on International sales?.....poor sales tactics.....learn how to grow a business what a shame! read more

I went to this store today excited because the items look so cute on pintrest. When I arrived I was sad the items were almost all polyester. I was able to find one cute tulle skirt. This place has torrid prices with fashion Q quality. I think the clothes are cute for throw around clothing but not at their current prices. This is a store not a botique. I absolutely love Melissa. I stumbled upon this place by seeing it on Facebook. I followed the page for awhile and always loved the dresses. Months later, I noticed that this boutique was five minutes away from me! I went down there the soonest I could! Melissa has a gift. I went in the first time and told her I am plain Jane. Black and white.. That's all I wear. She convinced me to try on some dresses/jumpers that were multi colored, red, orange/brown, you name it. I frowned at the thought! But let me tell you. She has an eye. She picks outfits that are for YOU and your body type. I have been a customer now for about 8 months and even now being pregnant, she keeps me feeling pretty and comfortable getting dressed up to go out with my husband. This is one of the best stores in my opinion here in Inglewood with quality clothes at an affordable price. So instead of going to the swap meet wasting your money on that cheap fabric, invest in some good clothes and continue to look good! Called customer service and was advised that there is no way to ship it out today without me upgrading the shipping for an additional $19. So I ordered an item from at chic & curvy boutique and chose to have the item sent to the store for pick-up. I received an email with a shipping tracking number & wanted to do the right thing, so I called to tell them I didn't pay for the shipping because I wanted to pick it up. The young lady says, well lemme me try to catch it before it goes out. I said sure, I will be there at 4:45. I get to the store with the email & the young lady asked for two forms of ID. She states that she will need to make a copy. Hmm...excuse me what did you say? (Mind you the package was located and it had my name on it). She said, well people come in here all the time, with stolen credit cards. I said, "Well the item is paid for already & don't you know you're putting your store at risk for being accused of stealing people's identity. The package has my name on it." I said, well you're not gonna copy my identification, so we can return the item. Would you believe she actually returned the item so I could purchase it?!?!? Why oh why is it so hard...to support black own businesses. Smh... I'm still contemplating whether or not to report them. Their dresses are super cute, so I may give them a pass. Get it together!!!
