I highly recommend Globe for all of your transmission needs. I was out camping in Sturbridge when my truck got stuck in 4 wheel drive while towing my trailer. I contacted Globe and they took my truck in right away. They quickly diagnosed the issue and got my truck back into 2 wheel drive. This was accomplished by unplugging the electric motor for the transfer case and cleaning it. The electric motor might be failing, but instead of charging me $1,000 to replace it they informed me to not switch out of 2 wheel drive until I get closer to home (about 120 miles away). Globe did not even charge me for the repair! They saved my vacation and kept me mobil. I can't thank them enough for that... this is an amazing company that cares about their customer. Back in October of this year my car slowed down on the highway and would not change gears; I knew it was my transmission. I got to where I was going then had it towed to Globe Transmission, per my mechanic's recommendation. The next day I got a call back from Globe and was told it was not my transmission at all and was likely the catalytic converter, a much less expensive repair. I paid a modest diagnostic fee, had it towed to my mechanic, and spent less than a third of what I would have paid had it actually been the transmission. It is honesty like this that is not always common when relying on someone to repair your car. I highly recommend Globe Transmission if you have a transmission issue. Stay far away!! We were having a problem with the transmission in my partners work vehicle so we called Interstate Transmission because they did such an awesome job on my vehicle (see review), but they were booked for a couple weeks and my partner really needed the vehicle fixed asap. Our mechanic suggested Globe so we called and they could do it right away. It cost thousands to do the work, but the scope of the work was pretty big. They guarantee their work as long as you have them periodically check the vehicle at the specified time. A year went by and the vehicle was giving us problems. We stopped at our mechanics and he put it on the computer and it said there was a problem with the transmission. We called Globe and made an appointment for them to check it out. We dropped it off and my partner said to me that he got the impression they were going to say it wasn't the transmission that was giving us a problem. Sure enough when we went back the owner said they checked and it wasn't the transmission that was the problem. Soooo, back to our mechanic it went and he checked and said it was definitely our transmission. Soooo, back to Globe we went and they "fixed it". Right away we still have the problem...soooo back to the mechanic and he spent a lot of time working on it trying to find another problem. He found the problem and it was with the transmission, it was the part that Globe said they replaced. Mechanic called Globe and questioned them and they admitted that they never changed the part and drove the part to our mechanic and dropped it off. They told our mechanic to tell us sorry. Sorry? Sorry you lied to our face? Sorry you caused so much stress and time off of work without a vehicle? These kind of places give good tradespeople a bad name. Stay far far away from them!!! read more

Multiple trouble lights lit up the dashboard of my 2008 Jeep Patriot and the car dropped into 4WD lowest gear. Diagnostics indicated a rear sensor, likely a problem in the linkage or transfer, so I prepared for a major bill. They were able to take in the Jeep the next day. Fortunately, Globe quickly determined the problem, a bad rear wheel bearing. They had the part delivered and the vehicle was repaired and back on the road the next day. My second time using globe for a transmission in one of my trucks. First time was a Chevy that I beat on and loaded down enough that the frame broke 3 times. Removed and sold that trans when junking the truck. That was 6 years ago and the trans is still great. More recently I had them rebuild my f350 4r100. I took my car to fix my Honda accord 1999 transmission and after 4 times the manual transmission had the same problem I brought it to get it fixed. They make me pay over $1900 and they wanted in cash no checks or credit card. They told me after about the cash when i went to pick up the car. If you go there check out the mess they got in the workshop, I should have known better. In the receipt it says you got to bring back the car after a month for a checkup or you lose the warranty. They fail to mention it. After the repair the problem continued. Terrible service. NOT RECOMMENDED. read more

They really dragged their feet to fix my car because the mechanic was was working on his boat before a long weekend. They had it nearly a week. It may have been better to simply close instead of bringing boat in and letting me know that was the priority. I had to rent a car to go to work. Their diagnosis was suspect because I had spark when I brought them the vehicle, then needed to pay for an ignition coil as well as the problem it had when I brought it to them. They told me I burnt it out trying to start it and had NO spark. Verifying it had spark was the last thing I did before it was in their hands. So, sometime after I dropped it off and before it was fixed another problem was added to the bill. Shady feeling here. Sorry guys. Two days later I found my dipstick left in front of the wiper blades under the hood where they left it. What would that have cost??!! Do yourself a favor right now if you are thinking of bringing your car there: Find a more trustworthy mechanic. read more
