This place is close to our office in Reston and is a local favorite. This is the second time I've come and both times have been fine. I came in around 12:30pm on a Monday and the was sat right away. The place was pretty empty. They have a wide range of food options and it looks like they have specials everyday. Monday's are burgers specials, but I went with a Cheesesteak. The Cheesesteak came with lettuces and tomato's which I did asked them not to put on. The cheese steak came in good time and was served with fries. The cheesesteak was an ok size and filling. Though the bread was not your typical Phily cheesesteak type it was ok. The place has plenty of tables inside and a bar. The theme is local sports and the service was great. First off, I'm totally a fan of this location because although it's busy, it is nowhere near as ridiculously crazy during game times as the Nutley St location. We were able to show up close to Redskins kick-off time & still get a good table. Plus, pretty much anywhere you sit, you're able to turn your head in multiple directions & see the game. Win. Our experience here started off shaky. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria ($21.99) but when it arrived, it was packed to the brim with ice and not so much alcohol... 2 glasses to be exact. Um, NO! Each glass was $5.99... definitely does not compute in my alcohol loving book! I got the server's attention quickly & explained our dilemma. I think the pitcher spoke volumes. He told us not to worry, he'd take care of it. And that he did! Our first "pitcher" was free & the manager came over to bring us a new one. He apologized and said that we were right to complain & he had spoken to his bar staff. The new pitcher was perrrrrfect in alcohol/ice ratio. 4 glasses of happiness were enjoyed. As for food, during our time there watching the game we ordered 2 appetizers. The first was cheese fries. Hot, plenty of melty cheese, a sprinkle of bacon and tasty ranch dressing (there is a gross ranch, and this place does NOT serve it). The second app ordered was nachos. These were ok, but probably my least favorite in the area. It is composed of mostly chili, very little shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream. IMO, it needed more cheese and Glory Days could stand to add a few more ingredients so that it isn't so plain tasting. Our server was a Redskins fan (HTTR!), attentive but not invasive or creepy, and took care of us (complaint included) without ever a hint of attitude. The patio was pleasant until the traffic picked up: car alarms, motorcycles, loud people, etc. Things were just quieting down when a group with six younger kids arrived, seated separately from their 4 adults. Loud, pounding on tables, and the parents made no effort to settle them down to a restaurant appropriate level. The waiter said there was nothing he could do to quiet them down. I like their grilled chicken salad, the lettuce is is a mixture of romaine and iceberg and also has cabbage, carrots, and tomatoes. If you're in the mood for an appetizer the crab dip is also pretty good, but very salty! My friend enjoyed the chicken ranch wrap and it looked good. There are three reasons why I am giving this restaurant three stars instead of four and they are because: - our waitress had an attitude when we asked her to split our check, she never really came back to check on us, and she got both of our orders wrong. - there is a bad stench of cigar/cigarette smoke when you walk in (and I sometimes smoke (trying to quit) so if I think it's bad, then it must be pretty bad, although this place IS a sports bar). - our table was sticky and dirty when we sat down - unaccceptable. read more

Even though it says I have only 1 check-in here, I have been going here on a semi-regular basis from August 2006 to October 2012. It is the greatest sports bar with a suburban neighborhood vibe! For me, the best time of the year to come here is during NFL season. Although it is a Steelers bar, they've always been able to accommodate my request to watch the Chargers. This Glory Days location has always drawn in a good crowd of other team's fans too. The menu has had a positive makeover. Last night, I tried the 10-Spice Chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli & carrots ($12.99) for the first time and my wife had the beef tacos with chips & salsa ($9.29). I get the reviewer's confusion about if this place can be mistaken for a Chuck E Cheese. Last night did have more than its fair share of kids running around. Luckily, that was on the left side of the place (the bar is located on the right side). Even though it won't be as often (since we live in Arlington now), we'll resume returning! read more

And this is why I should NOT base a Glory Days review on only a few visits. I KNOW Glory Days is inconsistent -- when it's good it's really GREAT and when it's bad, it's just AWFUL. OK, so I had a bad (really bad) experience on June 27 and I Yelped about it. A week later, my arm twisted by a friend with $5.50 burger withdrawal twisted my arm to try again. And it was wonderful (well, as wonderful as a sports bar in this price range ever gets). Service was prompt (drinks on the table in under 5 minutes) and our orders came out quickly -- most importantly, the burgers were cooked picture perfect. I ordered rare and got medium rare and my friend ordered medium and got medium well -- what we both actually wanted). The burgers were juicy and tasty; the cheese just melted (not so melted that it had all run down into the bun); and the sides were hot. We were in burger heaven. And our waitress checked back with us regularly and kept the refills coming. So, if you read my three reviews of Glory Days, you'll realize I could have predicted this turn of events. Did I say they were inconsistent? Did I say to check your expectations at the door and just go with the experience and know that (usually) the good triumphs over the awful? OK. OK, Glory Days is one of our family's favorite places. Great for the kids. Great for dad. I think Mom tolerates it. Glory Days is a chain featuring a bank of TVs surrounding the restaurant. There can be several different sporting events on at one time. Cartoons and news shows are also always on. If not, we request cartoons for the kids. GD is a zoo on game days. Big crowds for Redskins and VaTech. When a game is not on TV, you may find smaller groups in there cheering for their teams--Ohio State, Penn State come to mind. GD has glorious fried foods, of course. Their burgers are good. I tend to get the steak salad or BBQ chicken chopped salad. Ribs, chili are OK. We love their smoothies, when a good bartender is working. read more

Family friendly and full of distractions for kiddos so they're not bored while the adults are trying to get in a meal. I reviewed Glory Days only a few months ago, but since then, my love has only grown, and I feel the need to write an updated review. I've been to Glory Days every Monday for the past 4-5 weeks. My friends and I come for burger night and will usually hang out for a few hours afterwards. One thing I don't like is that they hiked up their Monday Burger special prices--it used to be $5 just a few months ago and now it's $6. Still, for $6 you're getting a great deal. My go-to burger is the Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger. The cheese is so gooey and melty, and the bacon is crisp with the perfect amount of chewy. The burger itself is always juicy and cooked to perfection (I order mine medium). They toast the buns here too so that they're a little crispy, but of course, soft on the inside and hearty enough to sustain the weight and juices of all the other ingredients. The fries are okay--they're a little soggy sometimes. The cornbread is usually really good--fluffy, moist, and perfectly sweet. Mashed potatoes are also a really good option--smooth, creamy, and buttery. My favorite choice in side is the mac and cheese. Glory days has one of the best--if not the best--mac and cheese I've ever had. The cheese saucy is so saucy and creamy like Velveeta, but it doesn't taste as processed like Velveeta. It has a really good, cheesy, flavor (but I would find it hard to believe if there wasn't processed cheese in it). I've never had mac and cheese with a more creamy, smooth, and saucy sauce before. It's so good!! The wings are pretty good--kind of pricey--but you can't go wrong. Nachos are covered in a delicious queso with all the fix-ins. Mozzarella sticks come out hot and crispy with a gooey mozzarella filling and a sweet/salty marinara sauce. The only appetizer I've tried and didn't really like was the cheese fries. Fries were really greasy (and thus, a little soggy) and came with melted cheese on top. I would have preferred a more sauce like consistency like the cheese that comes with the nachos. Also, if you stay late enough (like we do sometimes) 1/2 appetizers are $5 after 9PM. Another great deal! Again, I haven't tried any of the other entrées besides the burgers, and I doubt I ever will since the burgers are so great and the rest of the entrees are likely to be typical chain-restaurant food. What I love most about Glory Days is the service. We've had a waitress named Wendy a few times. She's absolutely wonderful, sweet, caring, attentive, vivacious, everything you would ever expect a great waitress to be. We always come around 7:00PM and have never had a problem with waiting. We also came during the USA vs. Ghana World Cup game and that was a ton of fun as well. The restaurant had so much energy during the whole game and it was exciting to watch the game there rather than at home. 2.5 Stars I got boneless wings to go. They are .60 cents on Wednesdays if you dine in though, so I was kicking myself a little over it. They were okay, not great. I got 12 with two flavors (bourbon and medium buffalo). The bourbon sauce was kinda nasty and too sweet. I coated it over in ranch sauce to change the taste. The buffalo was fine. The wings were pretty small considering they cost me $1 each, but when you eat 12, well, its filling anyways. The texture would have been better if it were a crispy, flash fried crunch on the outside but it wasn't, it was kind of soft. Oh well! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! My fiancé and I accidentally found this place after we searched and searched for a Chilis. The closest was like 30 minutes from where we needed to be. So a little skeptical, and hungry gave it a shot. I am so happy we did. As soon as you walk in, you are welcomed in with a big smile and a warm hello from the bartender, we sat down at the bar and ordered 2 Miller Lites. Since it was Labor Day and we were not close to a BBQ grill we decided to forget our calorie count and indulge in their burgers. OMG, one of the best burgers I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection. My dear fiancé, didn't speak to me at all as he ate (or I should say devoured) his burger. Service was excellent, the place was CLEAN which makes me very happy. Okay, maybe I was pushing it with my food choice in a sports bar. I had lunch at about 1:30 pm. The service was great, the place was clean. I chose the Cuban Sandwich which was marked "new" on the menu. I think it needs a little work. The meat was lacking, it should have ham and roasted pork and it did, but very little. The bread was not what it should have been. It seemed like it was in regular white bread when the original sandwich is a cross between white and French; and it should be pressed like a panini. However, it appeared it was prepared like a grilled cheese sandwich. Just my impression. I like Glory Days mostly for their burgers and wings. And of course the beer. The owner is clearly a Steelers fan and the staff isn't empowered to control the TV's. Steelers game is on both big screens as well as many of the smaller TV's. Glory Days as a concept is definitely A-OK. It's the kind of establishment where you can depend on "your game" being shown on one of the many, many TVs, in the kind of environment where the beer flows inexpensively and the food served is your typical burger/wings/fried food/nachos fare. It's a fine place for casual sports teams (like adult softball teams) to meet up after a game for some beers. It's nice for high school or college age kids to hang out and get their fill of milkshakes, burgers, nachos, and a casual, fun sporty atmosphere. If you stick to that as your expectation and desired outcome, I don't think you'll be too disappointed. If you seek hard enough, you may find some "healthier" items as well. Personally, I love hot wings, but not the fried/bone-in type. I'm a fiend for that sauce! Fortunately, Glory Days does offer a basket of 8 grilled/boneless/skinless "wings" with your choice of sauce and the typical celery/dressing accoutrements. I do wish their "hot" sauce were hotter, but I have an elevated level of spice fiending. They also have a nice selection of turkey and bison burgers, plus a veggie burger that isn't too terribly salty. Their french fries are okay, but I wish they weren't the coated/crunchy style (again, it's a personal preference). On a side note, we tried their chili for an appetizer the last time we were in, and neither my husband nor I weren't feeling too well afterwards - it was the only common food we had consumed that day. Hopefully just bad luck/a fluke. In conclusion - a good place to stop if you have a large, loud group, want to watch sports, have children in tow, enjoy a cheap burger/beer, or some some of all of the above. Also, if you aren't privy to any of the above-mentioned highlights of Glory Days, and you find yourself there, hunt and peck the menu carefully for the non-fried, non-breaded, non-dressing-covered items. My husband and I have enjoyed coming to this location until recently. We sat outside and our waiter did not check on us regularly and we had to ask other staff for things we needed. We also waited awhile for our beer and salad. The salad came out with the hot entree. The waiter spilled the beer when serving us and did not offer us a new beer. We then got the check and noticed we got charged for items we did not order which made us wait even longer to fix the mistake. Been coming to this location for 10+ years, but service has gotten very bad in past few months. Went for Father's Day with wife and son for dinner and to watch US Open. Greeter did not seem to understand English...at least in the sense he literally did not respond to our request for a booth or to put the Open on the largest TV....just stared at us blankly and walked away. (This was in addition to their inexplicably having a "talk show" on the largest screen in the house on FATHER'S DAY...this is a SPORTS BAR, correct?) Downhill from there as we sat for at least 10 minutes before our server "Leah" came ambling out of the back of the restaurant and came to a stop at our table. No "sorry to keep you waiting", just a flat "Do you want to order drinks?". My wife even gave her a second chance by saying we were ready to submit our full order as we had been waiting for quite awhile. All we got was "OK". This was followed by my son and I receiving Beef-on-Weck's on what had to be the most stale kummelweck roll I have ever had (let me add I am FROM BUFFALO, where the sandwich was invented, and have eaten hundreds of them over the course of my life). Worse, she failed to include the needed horseradish sauce with either....no apology (AGAIN!), then took her sweet time bringing to us while our (stale) sandwiches got nice and cold. "Leah" became (slightly) more animated when it was time to deliver the check and get her tip (of course). NOW THE BEST PART... As we were leaving a staffer on the patio asked if we had enjoyed our meal and received our "Father's Day gift card". Turns out they were giving "$10 Off Next Meal" cards to all the Dad's...which "Leah-the-Slouth" apparently didn't feel like getting for us. DEAR GLORY DAYS: FATHER'S DAY SHOULD BE AMONG THE FEW DAYS OF THE YEAR YOU DON'T SCREW UP. If your staff don't want to be there and/or don't know how to do their job, get new staff. Glory Days is a decent place to go to grab a quick bite and not miss your favorite sporting event on TV. Food is fine - you can save your "cheers" for your favorite team rather than what's on your plate. This trip, two of us chose items off the seasonal menu. I tried the ravioli which was tasty but had entirely too much sauce on it. Not what I was expecting based on the description. After you let the sauce drip off - the ravioli was good. The sandwich - meat, fries, slaw - was pretty good. The third person in our group had wings and a salad - can't usually go wrong with that. Wait staff has been better in the past than we had on this visit. This waiter could care less that we were there (until he brought the check and then he was suddenly animated and wished us a great evening). Overall, food is okay, usually quick, can catch your favorite game on tv and make it home at a decent hour. Great nighborhood hangout....usually see someone you know every time you go! read more

There are pretty good TVs on three walls, so you usually can see something. I did not finish review for this date and have been back more recently. Now, they have a printed, glossy, color menu and it looks like they never change the food available. Before, there were specials. I did enjoy a turkey BLT at the bar a couple of weeks ago, along with a tall Miller Lite. Another time I had sliders and did not realize they were not hot ones. I think they were ham and cheese or something. I can make better at home. This place is usually crowded in the evening meal time, which is OK since it means they will be around for awhile. Unfortunately, it means that it is one of the very few acceptable restaurants nearby. The shopping center has a good Chinese restaurant and there is always 5 Guys Hamburgers, Subway, Starbucks, Papa John's Pizza. I really wish that a much better restaurant would come into the shopping center. There is a good sized building available that was once shared by a now closed art frame store and Block Buster.
