I great little joint in Winchester VA. The best part is when I am in town I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn so it is a short 50 yard walk away. It is a little chain, your typical sports bar. The standout for me is the speaker boxes in the booths that you control, beer specials, grub is standard and good, and i have always had good service. If your in the area, this is the best spot to stay and eat. Winchester and Martinsburg does not offer to much diversity in restaurants outside of chains so you can't go wrong in this spot. Another plus, its a sports bar in Frederick County so you do not have to worry about the stinkin' cigarettes. It's NON Smoking. read more

We were greeted by a bubbly little spark plug named Jessica who had a cold beer/wine in our hands within seconds and our delicious menu choices within 10 minutes. Ever find a bar where the staff are as cool as the customers? This is one of those places. I went in here for the first time a week ago, sat at the bar throughout the evening, got prompt, attentive, and friendly service, actually conversed with and got to know the staff, enjoyed watching the big projection TV, and generally had a good time. They had a solid menu, a wide selection of draft beer and bartenders who know how to pour shots and mix drinks. I was pleasantly surprised by this chain. I had never seen or heard of one but assumed it would (hopefully) be better than Crapplebee's. That's really as high as my expectations soared. The food here is good. Very, very good. And the waitstaff is spot on - I never once felt as though we were being ignored; quite the contrary, actually. But in my opinion, it's too loud. Don't get me wrong, it's a sports bar, and if you're a sports fan - especially if your team is playing - it's probably not loud enough (for your side, anyway). Simply put, this is one of the best sport's bar-type restaurants I have ever been too. I have never had a disappointing meal; I have always had friendly, prompt service; and the prices are very, very reasonable. Food: I have gotten a wide variety of their menu. I have eaten their burgers, most of their appetizers, their chicken wings, their salads, and the list goes one. Each and every time I get a meal, I leave extremely satisfied with the food. My favorite burger is the one where they put the cooked egg (over easy) on it. I know, I know--this may sound weird if you've never heard of this or tried it; but it is delicious. It adds so much flavor to an already fantastic burger. Their Buffalo-style wings are always crispy, well-sauced, and are served piping-hot. The side of bleu cheese is also delicious, and the rounds-out a really good chicken wing. They have a good selection of beer, and appetizers. I wish this place would open a location in San Antonio, Texas--I would never go anywhere else because they have everything I need. Overall I liked this spot for what it was; close to my hotel after a long day on the road. Yes, it is a chain, but it is heads and shoulders above Applebee's and Chili's. The food is not cheap, nor are the drinks. We spent $80 on dinner and drinks for 2 with one appetizer, (crab dip over pretzels) and 2 entrees, I had chicken tacos, which were too spicy for me and my man had the much better crab cake sliders, those were very good. What elevates this spot is the warm and welcoming service. My first visit to Glory Days. I didn't realize it was basically a sports bar. That's okay, it was Saturday and lots of college football on. I wanted a salad and ordered something which was a southwest salad with bbq sauce. The chicken on top was cold, as advertised, but having usually gotten salads with warm chicken, this was off putting. My companion got a rueben which he enjoyed. Not sure what all the hype is about. Food is decent...nothing anywhere near unique. American grill type menu - cool beans; I love a sports bar atmosphere, especially for a great burger and yummalicious fries! This really isn't THAT place, not for the delicious food part. Yeah - lots of noise, lots of tv screens with different sports all over - full bar hanging out right in the center of everything...the atmosphere is cool - no complaints. Service is really REALLY hit or miss (sad but true). Food is decent right...not bad, but not amazing either. It's hot dogs, burgers, fries, hot sandwiches, tacos, etc. Okay - but the price, THE PRICE PEOPLE...for these items...IS JUST RIDICULOUS!! Sorry but I'm not doling out $13+ for a burger and fries unless it's SCRUMPTIOUS. I think our last bill there (a bit more than a year ago) was like $48: 2 Bud lights on tap, a burger meal and a pretzel hotdog meal. Um...no thanks. I ask for medium doneness and it is cooked exactly as ordered. The cooks at this location go light on salt, so it is great for those watching their sodium intake. Dessert selections are good. My main gripe with this place is that it's a sports bar, but god forbid you cheer for any of the games on tv. I was asked to leave (the day it opened) because I cheered after a touchdown on MNF. When it comes to bar & grills, there are some ups and downs. Glory Days has NO problems at all. The TVs everywhere are a plus, the recordings of old baseball & boxing games is cool. But the best part about it was the food. The it famous Oreo Sliders are a bite of ice cream heaven. It ain't like your old fashioned popsicles on a hot day. No. The Oreo slider is a treat for any time, any day. And the seasoning in the fries is clearly something else.
