I've been coming here for 8 years, and my stylist has always been fantastic. Unfortunately, the front desk communication has declined to the point that I can't continue coming. At my most recent appointment, I waited 20 minutes past my scheduled time with no update. When I finally got up and walked around, someone apologized and explained that the previous appointment had been scheduled incorrectly and they would be with me shortly. Even after that, I was still waiting with nothing more than "she'll be with you shortly." What I don't understand is why none of this was communicated when I checked in. If I had known there would be a delay, I would have rescheduled instead of wasting time I had planned my day around. This has never been an issue in the past, which makes it even more disappointing. Because of the lack of communication and consideration for my schedule, I'll be going elsewhere. I truly hate to leave my stylist, but I need a salon that communicates clearly and respects clients' time. read more

I will admit this review is based on walking in and purchasing a gift card along with my interaction with the employees. Upon walking in, I was greeted immediately by a few employees working at the counter. I will say the inside smelled amazing/super clean, and the displays were very well organized. I believe one of the massage therapist was answering my questions during the transaction. They really need to update their website and the technology they use for online booking. If you're not paying attention you may think that you have an appointment when it really didn't go through. There is one girl up at the front desk who is somewhat rude and talks to me like I am a bother. I appreciate they answer the phone if there's people at the desk but it's strange to me they hang up before you can say ok to be placed on a hold. Kenzie and Katelyn are THE. BEST. estheticians. 5/5 of both of them. They are both very laid back and I see Kenzie for back facials and the amazing job she does on my brows. Katelyn is always willing to pass her knowledge out like candy on Halloween! I so appreciate her collaborative style as someone who has not previously been knowledgeable about proper skincare. She and I are the same person and really relates to my skincare struggles. I got my haircut here once and it was to try and fix a mess done by great clips and I think my stylist could have done a better job evening it out so I just keep it all on the esthetics side here. Alli has been doing my hair for a little over two years now. I'm a dark blonde, but I love to have it lightened or weave in different colors. Alli always has suggestions on the best ways I can achieve (or work toward) a desired look, and she always delivers! My hair has also never been healthier. She's very knowledgable about the lightening process- how to mitigate the damage AND keep my color lasting for a long time. She's always positive and easy to talk to, or if you find that having your hair styled to be super relaxing, she is totally fine with silence as well. Her aromatherapy options + scalp massages are amazing. I could stay in that bowl all day! I always leave feeling more confident and relaxed after my visits. The salon also offers spa services. My bff and I often to come in for massages after having a girls day. I've had Shiloh and Alyssa work on me and both do a phenomenal job. Perfect pressure, lovely aroma therapy, they focus on my problem areas, and both have great recommendations for how they could better target my areas of tension/stress. I always feel refreshed without being sore (I like a lot of pressure) when I leave. Give these ladies a try! I highly doubt you'll regret it. Don't recommend this place, had a mani the paint brand was real clunky and the tech Just kept painting. Just left, my real healthy nails are destroyed. nails aren't all same length and filed all differently shaled and all the edges are so rough they will all chip and peel. just horrible. staff are real nice here but you need nail professionals doing nails. I got my girl a spa day and it was supposed to be a relaxing fun time and they tried to give her more services than what was on the gift certificate that I provided and then they wanted to charge her a ridiculous amount. This is my regular salon and I've been coming here for 12+ yrs for hair so I hate giving a lower rating. But I booked a an essential pedicure from their menu of services thanks to a promotional discount. I don't often treat myself but my feet take a ton of abuse from running and needed their spring prep for flip flops, pool days and fun polish! I was really excited for a luxury break The pedicure was a 3. It wasn't what I expected I guess based on slightly higher price compared to other places. The chairs need an upgrade, the baths didn't have that massagey mat, the space had 2 elevated seats only with no view, no Tv, no magazines, not even music ... My technician was fine, the checkin was fine, it was all just 'fine'. All in all not worth $50 base price so I probably would go somewhere else next time. read more

After making an appointment online and driving 25 mins for a facial...I was told that "oh, your appointment didn't go through, that happens a lot.". I was made to feel it was my fault for showing up anyway, as I should have know that I didn't receive a confirmation email... really? I went to your site, selected a service, selected a technician, date and time. I received a confirmation ONLINE. How am I'm supposed to know you will also send an email? And, how about an apology? The woman at the desk and just smiled. No big deal. "I can reschedule you for another day, but not today. We have nothing for you, we are booked." I am very impressed by the professionalism displayed by Gloss Salon & Day Spa. In early January, I had a balayage treatment that I was unsatisfied with, so I left a review and they immediately responded with a complimentary session. I booked an appointment with Natalie P and honestly it was the best decision I've made. I loved her technique to detail and blending skills. I came in around 2:30 pm for my appointment and was seated right away. Natalie was very friendly and talked to me about maintaining healthy hair and how to take care of my balayage. This process took about 3 and a half hours. Natalie even stayed after hours with her associate to style my hair! The end result was amazing! Natalie is very talented and I really wish I would have known about her sooner because she did such a great job on my hair. 5 starts for amazing service and because Natalie is awesome. I debated with myself for a few minutes about whether to give Gloss a 2 or a 3-star rating. I settled on a 2 for the following reasons: good stylist, clean salon, good products, poor customer service, misleading web prices, left with a bad taste in my mouth. First off, the salon is pretty standard as far as decor goes. Comfortable, clean, fairly modern. They do have quite a few product displays right as you walk in...too many in my opinion. They take up a large area of the lobby. The front desk is too small to help more than one client at a time. There were two customers in front of me and it seemed to take a while. This was my first time at Gloss and I was assigned a stylist at random. She was pleasant and clearly experienced. She didn't seem all that interested in getting to know me, but made a modest effort to keep up some small talk. Maybe she's got all the clients she needs. Her consultation was great, she asked a lot of good questions and I had a clear picture of what the game plan was. Then came the wash. OMG...best hair wash I've ever had. The scalp massage was at least 4 minutes and quite heavenly. She was perceptive to notice that I have frizzy hair and told me she was washing with frizz dismiss products. The wash was the best part of the experience! The haircut itself was good and she took her time making sure everything was even. My only complaint there is that she didn't show it to me before she started drying and styling it, but to be fair I didn't ask. She did a cute summer braid style and walked me up to the front desk. Over the hour service together she offered me three services/add-ons. More and I would have minded but she kept it low key. Ok, now for the bad news. Once I got up to the counter, the receptionist quoted me a price a good $15 over what I had expected. I told her I'd seen a lower price on their website for a regular cut and style. She explained that there are several levels of stylists and that my stylist's services cost more. I told her that I had randomly been assigned a stylist and that none of this was explained to me on the phone when I booked my appointment (as a first time customer). She basically shrugged and said well, that's that. I continued to ask questions, mostly to make sure I wasn't crazy when I had read the website, then she let out a big sigh and asked me if it would make me happy if she just charged me the price I was expecting. I realized I wasn't going to get any further with this lady, so I just said yes. After processing my credit card, she slapped down the receipt and a pen with a lot of attitude. After a few more awkward exchanges, she quite fakely told me to have a nice day. Ultimately I did get what I wanted in terms of price, but I didn't go to the salon to get stressed and argued with...I went to relax and enjoy the service! Overall the styling experience was good but the service I received at the front was pretty terrible. Unfortunately, it overshadowed the positive part of the experience. read more

Holly gave me the best facial I have EVER had. I've been skincare obsessed & getting facials since I was 18, and I have extremely sensitive skin, so here is my honest review: LGBTQIA+ SAFE! As a queer person I felt 1000% safe and comfortable in this salon and with Holly. She took ample amount of time doing my consultation, and actually listened to my concerns about my sensitive skin, which usually I feel estheticians don't take me seriously about and I end up with rashes or products being used that burn. Not with Holly at Gloss, I did not have a single issue! Products were soothing, and my skin has never looked better. She gave great product recommendations and explained thoroughly how to use each. She also explained some skin irritations I had and what they were, and how to deal with them. Then there was the facial itself. HOLY RELAXATION. The shoulder/neck, arm/hand massage was AMAZING. The aromatherapy really helped me relax, and the bed was SO comfortable!! On top of all of this, the spa's COVID policies are awesome! Temp check before your appt, and mask required until your facial starts. The spa room was separate from the hair salon so you're not around a ton of people, which is nice. Just do yourself a favor and book a facial with Holly. Your skin and your mental health (hello self-care and relaxation!) will thank you!! read more

When I walk in they know my name and there is no pressure to do add on's. Very professional and they always have specials. I'm giving 3 stars because I really wanted to like this... I got a spray tan for a wedding over the weekend. The technician was nice and talkative, said she was new. But this spray.... it's pretty bad. My legs do not even look sprayed at all. My arms are missing color in certain spots. I requested less color on my face, but my face continued to get sprayed as she was going over my body. I spray frequently. I'm pretty accustom to what different positions I have to stand in. I don't feel like we got to each of those positions as well as the time spent on each section of my body. The inside of my hands weren't wiped, so my palms are pretty orange (she offered Vaseline for the bottom of my feet but didn't say palms.... wasn't sure if I should have used that to prevent this...?) I looked into the mirror before I left, it was hard to tell what was missing and what wasn't because the color develops... I didn't want to jump the gun. Now I'm back in my hometown frantically calling my old go-to to fix me. Again, I really wanted to like this as I had high hopes. It just missed the mark. read more

We had both our manicures and pedicures in private rooms with just the two of us. Service was great and I loved the polish selections they had. Went in for a spray tan before a wedding. This spot was a convenient location close enough to our hotel and the extended hours were perfect for my schedule. The staff was very friendly and professional. I was escorted to a private room with the technician. She did not leave the room while I undressed... a little different than what I am used to at my usual tanning salon at home. They did not have the cream to prevent spraying my palms, feet and cuticles as I am used to as well. The technician moved slowly and sprayed air on each area to dry it. Was not the most even spray tan I have had and missed a couple spots but it worked well enough for the wedding. I would go there again in the future. read more

Customer Service was terrible. I scheduled an appointment on a Tuesday for an appointment on Thursday @ 5:45 and paid a $75 deposit. I get there and the receptionist didn't act like she knew what she was doing. Took her five minutes just to tell me she couldn't find my appointment but could see I made a deposit. They gave me the manager, Kelly's number which I called and she was extremely rude! she was put off by my interrupting her workout. she said her front desk person cancelled the appointment because she spoke to someone earlier in the day to have the appointment canceled but it wasn't me who canceled. I had a wedding to attend Saturday!!! The receptionist clearly didn't know what she was doing and cancelled the wrong appointment and they were unwilling to make it right!!! read more

I definitely enjoyed my day here relaxing. I booked the Mom 2 Be spa package which included a basic pedi, an hour massage, and 1/2 reflexology. Plus I tacked on a facial for good measure. Everyone was super nice which I loved. I was never pressured into buying anything. They fit me on a tight timeline which I really appreciated. I did have to wait about 20 - 30 minutes in between my pedi and massage which I didn't like. I had family coming over at 6 and I figured 5 hours was plenty of time but I overran that. The gal who did my facial was great! She was awesome and we talked the entire time, I felt super comfortable. I went for the first time last week. My bf got me a gift card there for Christmas. I used it on a reflexology massage and an express pedi. Omg! It was so nice. The staff was nice and super friendly. The girl that did my reflexology, Crystal, was amazing. She was great! My express pedi was fun she did a great job! Perfect for just a quick pedi. Then I decided to get my hair done there a few days later since I had such a good experience the first time. The girl that colored my hair was amazing! I went in unsure about what color I really wanted so I mention kind of what I wanted and she picked the perfect shade for me! I've been getting a lot of complements on it. I left a brief complaint on their face book page, they removed it and blocked me. - - I had a facial scheduled but I was there last hair appointment and they did not have time to get it in. I had to cancel it mid appointment. She made me leave with wet hair as the place was closing. She seemed really tired and not into it. -When I get home and my hair dries there are places with no color and the next day it looks really orange. There's a obvious spot with no color on top. I get a courtesy call asking about my visit a few days later. I explain why I am unhappy with it and how I was going to let it go but they persuade me to come back in so they can look at it and make sure I like it. I schedule an appointment to come back in. I get there on time and wait in the lobby for close to 20 min while others get called back. Eventually the lady who did my hair and another lady come out. They sit me down and we go over what I don't like. They start to argue with me. For example.; I show them the spots they clearly did not color and they try to blame it on a week of hair regrowth? I informed them this was not the case it had been like that and it was not evenly colored. I show them were they missed blond highlights and how they are orange and they tell me they followed the same pattern as last time. This is not true, there was no pattern and it looks completely different. They argue with me about the color, I think it is to orange they think it looks blond (it is orange). They do nothing to help and start to make me uncomfortable like I have to defend myself. I eventually tell them that I did not come into argue. They did not care about the fact that I was not happy with it. Then, to top it off the lady tells me "weren't you strapped for cash last time you were here? Maybe that's why it does not look like you thought it would". That's when I left. No refund, no fixed hair. I do not know why they called me back to act like this. The salon stylist I had last time had quite. On the first appointment, they set me up with a new stylist who would be $40.00 more because of her level of experience. While she was consolidating with me about what I wanted done I got the feeling she was not familiar with the style and color I was looking for. I offered to come back when someone else was in if she was not comfortable with the style I wanted. It was bright red with Blond and black Highlights. She assured me she could do it and talked to me for close to 20 min about what she would do. She tried to sell me a deep conditioner and other items and while in the chair gave me a quote about $100.00 higher than my last visit. Disappointed I opted to not have the black in my hair and turned down the conditioner and other things she kept trying to sell me. Eventually I had to let her know that I had budgeted around $150- $20 dollars for this appointment and I would appreciate it if she would keep it around that. This is typical pricing. I had more money but did not want to spend it on Extra stuff I did not need and felt like they were over charging me. read more

First of all I enjoyed the fact that I could go online to the website and book a haircut appointment with up to 3 dates & time slots that were convenient for my schedule. I appreciated getting a call for a new time slot when what I had picked was full and then also getting a text reminder for the appointment. This was my first time at Gloss and I had Halle for my haircut. I liked the fact that they give out a welcome packet for new customers with a lot of coupons in it for other services and products. Throughout the whole appointment Halle was very nice, kind, pleasant, and an enjoyable person. I showed her a few pictures of the hairstyle and the haircut I was looking for. She made sure to ask me questions as she was doing the haircut and would make sure I was happy with the look and length. I loved the wash and she was perceptive to notice that I have thick and full hair. I would definitely recommend Halle and the salon to friends and family. read more

I have been to this salon a handful of times and generally have had good experiences. I called today to see about fixing a hair color gone wrong. They got me in the same day with Sarah. At first she seemed nice enough and willing to help me. By the end of my appointment I could tell she was very annoyed with having to help me today. She stated she only had time to blow dry my hair with no style. I said that's fine. While blow drying it she was constantly pulling my hair and yanking at it. Soon enough she gave up drying and said that I could leave now. I left the salon with new color in wet hair. We all know how well that works.. not. I had planned on leaving a nice tip for squeezing me in, but instead she got nothing. This was very disappointing because I haven't had anyone be so rude to me at this salon. All in all you're probably okay to go there, but avoid Sarah if you can. read more

I went here for a cut/color and left pretty upset. I have curly hair and the women who did my hair just did not to a good job. I have never actually called to request a refund before but in this case, I did because it looked so bad. The returned my email right away and I went in to have Micah look at it and she kindly offered to donate her time to help fix my hair today. She does a nice job of explaining the process and recommending treatments, but she doesn't push to sale additional services or products. She's likeable and gave a very relaxing facial. I would highly recommend her! I've also had pedicures there. Again, I like Rebecca--an enjoyable experience and nice final product. The pedis are a bit on the pricey side for what they include, though. Still, I keep going back. I've gotten hair cuts from a couple different folks there. Reasonable prices, decent cuts. On arrival I received a welcome pack for new customers with coupons off of service and products. The massage choices were a bit daunting and all included additional charges with different oils, treatments and aromatherapy. Melissa R was my therapist and she was excellent! She asked a lot of questions about what I wanted and was very focused on providing a good experience. The massage was very relaxing and I received just the right amount of pressure. She really helped the back and shoulder tightness I was experiencing. I will definitely reschedule with her. I felt the price was a bit high but I knew what to expect going in. With the added options it does make it higher than other places I've been too which is why I give it 4 stars. You do get a discount however when you book again.
