Let's start off with my skin background, I have suffered from acne since I was 11 years old. I used to have pretty bad cystic acne as a teen, it eventually went away by some miracle. However, years of cystic acne, not knowing my type of skin, and dealing with sun damage all I can say my skin has had a tough time with scarring. Long overdue update! I completed 6 sessions back in 2016 and my acne scarring diminished to practically nothing. I remember finally being able to look at my skin make up free without being self conscious! Well fast forward 3 years... life happens and my skin started breaking out again. Much worse than before and the acne was more painful, lasted longer, and when it finally did heal, left so much scarring and hyper pigmentation. I moved to SF so I went to a local esthetician to help treat my active acne by changing my skin care routine. That helped calmed my acne down but I was using some really expensive products to help with scarring. I know the process takes a long time for scars to fade but I remember how helpful Glow DermSolutions facials were in the past so I made an appointment and drove an hour for my sessions but it is well worth it! I completed 4 sessions already and my scarring has gotten so much better! I saw much faster results in the 4 months of my sessions with my scarring / hyper pigmentation compared to the past year of using my expensive products. I haven't broke out in the last few months besides just a small bump here and there that would disappear in a night or two but nothing like before where my pimple would last one week plus! Danielle helped me with my facials this time and their process is to remove all the dead skin layers on your face and really clean out your pores to prevent future breakouts. After the session, there is very little down time and your face peels maybe for a week but I love the peeling process since you can literally see your dead skin coming off. I can tell the difference in my face after my facial because my pores are more visible the day or two after but you can tell that your pores are just completely cleaned out and then the shrink when your skin heals. PLEASE READ BEFORE COMING HERE!!!!!!!!! I first heard about this place on FaceBook, so I checked out their YELP page to read what others had to say. All the reviews were 5 stars so thought I should give it a try, I made an appointment and went in. Upon arriving I noticed how the office is nicely decorated and clean but has a "COLD" feeling to it. The energy doesn't feel good in there, not what you would expect from a place you go to get beautified. I was given paper work to fill out and to my surprise the last page is a "NON-DISPARAGEMENT" agreement you must sign in order to have a facial. For those of you who do not know what this is it is a clause stating YOU WILL NOT WRITE A NEGATIVE REVIEW about Glow DermSolutions or the treatment you received on social media or YELP or they can take action against you. I have never been to a spa, salon, store, or any other place that made me sign a paper saying I will not write a negative review. And the reason why is because this is ILLEGAL!!! The Consumer Review Freedom Act protects us consumers with the right to post truthful negative reviews about a product or service even if you are forced to sign something. I immediately knew this clause they make you sign is why I didn't read any bad reviews on this place. They scared their clients into thinking they will suit them if they post anything negative. I went ahead and signed it because I was there and I really wanted my facial. In reality, I should have got back in my car and left. Josephine called me into the office to give me a consultation before we started the facial. She told me the Facial is $350 (not including tip) but in order to see a difference I need to do around 5 treatments which is around $1,750. The day before my facial I went on their website just to see what the rates are and they don't list prices. Now I know why!!! I have no problem paying $350 for a service but I expect to see better results than what I got. My facial consisted of microdermabrasion and a light chemical peel, my skin was a little softer but I really didn't see any glow afterwards or any lightening of my sun spots or small discolorations. The total treatment took no more than 30 minutes. The next couple of days my skin looked pretty much the same as it had before my treatment. Overall, Glow Dermsolutions is doing business illegally by making the clients sign the non-disparagement agreements. They are way overpriced. My advice is to search "chemical peels" or "TCA peels" on YELP to find another med spa or aesthetician with that can do these at a way more affordable price in a shorter amount of treatments, and also a business that allows all clients to write honest reviews :) read more

I started going to Glow Derm a year ago and have been consistently getting 3 of their treatments: the Exfoderm, Microneedling and the Resurfacing Peel. I'm still a little salty that I had no idea they were in San Jose! Danielle and Laura are wonderful. They love what they do, want to educate their clients, and are near perfectionists every single time! My review 4 days after my Microdermabrasion and chemical peel. I'm a mother of four children and don't really have time to take care of myself. I was so excited when I made my appointment because my face was super dry and had a lot of blackheads on my nose. The microdermabrasion didn't hurt at all, but the chemical peel did burn just a little on my forehead and cheek for a second. The results were amazing!! Entrusting my face to Laura has been one of the single most valuable decisions I've ever made in my life. Did I just say that? Yep, absolutely. After suffering through some pretty severe acne during my high school years, I was left with big pores, sensitive, reddish, acne-prone skin for more than 10 years later. I started with the GLOW EXFODERM for $350 and as a cheap girl who typically gets $65 facials, I can honestly say that the $350 is worth every penny. It is also worth noting that my skin is very complex: oily t-zone, cystic acne on cheeks, sensitive all over... so initially I was very skeptical and nervous about dropping a few hundred on a facial. However, with the countless and consistent 5 star reviews and concrete proof of positive results posted on their Yelp and website, I decided to give this place a go. Seriously if this place wasn't going to work out, I was going to give up lol. Part of the reason why I love coming here is, obviously, the results but half of it has to do with how well Danielle takes care of her clients! Both her bedside manners and facial skills. She is an incredibly sweet and beautiful girl inside and out! I trust and value her opinion and know she isn't trying to up sell me. She doesn't push to buy products or go with a more expensive facial. She thoroughly explains and lets me decide stress-free. On my second visit, I asked Danielle to advise a different treatment because I cannot afford to spend another $300 for their Exfoderm facial so we did the $200 Dermal Vortex For Acne and immediately post-facial I can see results! Your skin is literally glowing and so are your insides from being so pleased! :) None of the treatments hurt, they just feel a tad uncomfortable but it's definitely bearable! It is recommended that you stay home after the facial so your skin has time to soak in all the goodness, recover, and regenerate. I make sure that I don't plan outings in which I have to put on makeup post-facial. After the $200 Dermal Vorex for Acne today (7/12/2019), I was advised to stay home and not go to the gym which I gladly obliged because I don't want anything to interfere with the possibility of maximum best results. Yes, the facial is quite expensive but you truly get what you pay for. I have wasted too much money in the past on cheap products and facials. I have had only two sessions so far at this location and I can already see drastic results in the milia problem I have been struggling with and treating since the 90's. This treatment of microdermabrasion with peel has by far provided the best results without being abrasive. I haven't finished my treatment yet but I've been here before to get my acne scars cleared on my face. Unfortunately I wasn't able to finish my treatments but I was more than happy with the results I got. I am now back to remove the scars and cystic acne on my chest and the results are noticeable every visit! This is really a LONG overdue review!! I really wish I lived a lot closer to Laura that way I can go to her often. Never in my life had I ever broke out in pimples the way I did in the last months of 2015 and beginning of 2016. My chin section of my face was breaking out constantly, there was no spot on my chin that did not have a pimple AND new ones would pop-up every single day! After having had spend a couple of thousand dollars on different treatments and products I had enough of money being thrown in the garbage without any results! I found Laura through yelp and decided to give her a try! I had my first section in April 2016. Laura took about 30 minutes to explain to me what was going on with my skin, she then took another 10-15 minutes to answer any questions or go over any information that I did not understand. After Laura went over all of the information with me I decided to go ahead and get the chemical peel. While Laura was doing the process she was explaining every single step as she went along. After the first treatment I started to notice a difference in my skin. I was still breaking out, but not as much. I saw Laura for a total of five times. Every single time I went to Laura I learned something new on how to treat and take care of my skin. With every visit my skin also improved. The last time I visited Laura was at the end of June 2016 and even then I have not had major breakouts, my skin is clean, I have not had more than 4 pimples appear since the last time I saw her. I have not gone back to Laura due to distance, but I can't wait to go back and see her! One of the many things that I really appreciated about Laura is that she genuinely cares about her customers! She wants her customers to not only look good, but feel good about themselves. Laura will, also, try to fit you and work with your schedule for your appointments.
