You have to turn on the sauna for maybe 5-10 minutes so it can warm up to your desired temperature. They recommend the sauna be 120F for best results. There are different types of workouts, and from what I remember there was cycing, glutes, and iso--just to name a few. Each sauna room seems to accommodate up to 3 people. You can reserve a class ahead of time and complete your workout. The more workouts you complete and the more calories you burn, you earn points to redeem towards items. The iso workout was like 30-45 minutes long. It was actually very challenging. For a workout in which I usually would be able to complete outside of a sauna, inside of the sauna, it was WAY harder, and I came out of the workout DRENCHED in sweat. Outside of the rooms, there are cubbies where you can place your items in. They have cameras on the inside of the building so that can help with the safety of your items in the cubbies. They do offer little life alert lanyards that you can bring into your workout in case you're alone and worry about your safety--whether from the workout or your personal safety. I highly recommend bringing your water bottle and a towel (they do provide towels but there may be a charge). You WILL get easily dehydrated because you are sweating so much. However, the sweating made me feel very relaxed at the end of the workout. I would love to do their workouts again in the future. Some criticisms I saw when I read about the Hotworx workouts in figuring out if I should join or not, is that the workout videos don't change very often and that people wished the instructors provided alternate movements for movements that may be more difficult for people. Just some things I've noticed in figuring out if I should commit to classes. The staff were very friendly in explaining how the facility runs. Overall, I would recommend Hotworx based off my experiences!

I liked him and the sessions he put me through, although he cancelled several at the last minute. In late December, I agreed to prepay him for twice a week for the month of January. He cancelled the first session and then failed to show up at the second. After he failed to show up, I received an email from him telling me that he was leaving the area for a week or two for personal reasons, and he would contact me to reschedule when he got back. That was eight weeks ago, and I have heard nothing from him since, even though I made repeated efforts to contact him. I now realize I am out over $500 for sessions I prepaid that I will probably never receive. It has been a major disappointment.

After a few sessions with Mike (couple's sessions specifically) I was already noticing muscles being worked that I had never worked before. Workouts were tough, but never too much for us to handle. He pushes you, motivates you, and definitely keeps it interesting. He fits a ton of different exercises into a 45 minute session. Our busy schedule required a 'before work' session and it has done wonders for my energy and alertness throughout the day. The two day a week training sessions along with his comprehensive diet goals really helped me to lose the weight I set out to lose. After 2 months I had lost 20 pounds. After 3 months of training with Mike, I feel noticeably stronger, healthier and happier. He's made a believer out of me and I can't recommend him enough!

The trainers care about you as an individual and know that each person has their own journey and battles and never prescribe a "one size fits all" mentality to their training methods. You can modify when you need to. You can be pushed to your best and you are given the best pep talks through it all. I've successfully completed Spartan races and hopped over 6ft walls because of the trainers believing in me. I've ran half marathons because I've met so many amazing people here that keep pushing me to do more! This place has changed my life. The community inside is a family and I'm so thankful for this place existing and showing me that fitness is for everyone!

I have been debating whether or not I wanted to write a review about The Camp. On one hand, I have…read moremany good memories here and working out felt fun. Some of the trainers and all of the front office staff are amazing and kind. Shout out to Taylor and Andres. I think the owners had good intentions in mind and poured a substantial amount of themselves into the camp. However, the amount of pain (months after leaving the camp) and frustration I have encountered far outweighs the good. I came into the camp with some mild pain in my back that came and went as well as knee pain. Certain things would aggravate it. One of the trainers at the camp is incredibly pushy and does not listen. One of my first trainings at this gym with this trainer, she was asking the group to do something that I knew would worsen the pain- when she saw I was not doing the exercise she pushed me to do it and when I tried to explain that I couldn't she said "can't is a word not allowed here...that will be 10 burpees" without allowing me to explain. Repeating that phrase several times when I just stood there, shocked, until she let it go and moved on. I have had multiple other negative experiences with her-at one point I came into the gym with a cardiac monitor I had to wear for two weeks and she seemed annoyed that I even showed up because I could not get the monitor wet( mild moisture and work outs were ok). After that first session I told her about my back pain, so she was aware. However, she kept pushing when I told her that I did not think I could do something. I avoided her classes but still ran into her at one of my final classes there. She pushed me to do deadlifts (a major trigger for me) with heavier weights even after I told her that was not a good idea. She would not take no for an answer. This caused the worst back pain I have even experienced with shooting pain down my leg. I am still recovering from it. The blame is not fully on her. I did the deadlifts, I am aware that I needed to advocate better for myself. However, this is not an acceptable way for a trainer to act. After every one of her classes I left feeling weak and ashamed. I know I am not the only one who has had complaints about this trainer. A different trainer prided himself on doing the workout with the class. Are you working out or teaching? How can you keep an eye on what everyone is doing when you are also working out? I am not talking a little hammer curl...I am talking full on burpees. This trainer seemed annoyed with me when I asked him to turn the music down or asked for modifications. He would not give me even a second of his time to voice my concerns. Overall, The Camp's model in my opinion is overly focused on lifting the most heavy weights possible in a loud and fast paced environment. When classes are smaller, it is possible for trainers to keep a close eye on form. However, financially, small classes are not feasible (this place is at the brink of shutting down) and it seems that in larger classes it is difficult to ensure safe form. I remember one of my final classes I looked up at the other people in my group and we had no idea what we were doing. There were not enough appropriate sized weights for everybody. It was loud and hectic, almost impossible to get the attention of the trainer because the music was so loud. About the loud music...there were members who wore ear plugs because it was so loud. My Apple Watch warned me of high decibels almost every training I attended. Did I bring up my concerns to the owners? Sure did. I was told nothing could be done about the music-even though it was difficult to hear what the trainer was saying even when they were right next to you. Regarding my concern with coaches not modifying work outs and being pushy? I was told to choose a different coach's classes to attend and attributed to "personality differences" (also challenging because I could only attend evenings of some days). This gym is not open all day. When I shared concerns regarding my pain and that I wanted to stop attending classes due to the advice of my physical therapist, I was told I probably have a herniated disk and should see my doctor as well as a chiropractor ( and to look into the "fascinating history of chiropractics" when I brought up the lack of evidence in most chiropractic practices), and the advice of my PT was dismissed. FYI, my doctor referred me to PT in the first place. Disheartening behavior coming from a healthcare professional. Coaches also push members to buy work out supplements advertising them as "weight burning" among other claims...this is not science based and is taking advantage of people who trust you. As healthcare professionals, how can you support such claims being made in your business? I realize that, sadly, this is normal for the fitness industry.
