I happened to be doing a cat visit in the NE Portland area. I wanted a snack to hold me over till dinner time. I wanted to check out a 100% vegan place and Tiny Moreso fit the bill! Not only are the 100% vegan, they are 100% gluten free as well! It's street parking, but that wasn't an issue. I parked around the corner. I wanted a coffee or tea and a baked good. I ended up getting an iced chai latte with oat milk.. really good flavor! I got a banana bread to go. As I was waiting for my order, the soup of the day caught my eye. African Peanut soup..one of my favorites! I decided to get a cup to eat inside. The soup had good flavor, though it was of a purée consistency. I would have preferred a thinner, smoother consistency, but like I said, the flavor was really good. Not sure if they sell a small roll or bread slices, but that would really hit the spot! I took the banana bread to go, and it was good. I was checking out the cheesecake in the display case. I really need to go back and get me some of that! The shop is small with a few tables and chairs. Decorated cute with soothing colors. They have tables outside, and on this particular day, it was really nice out. Tiny Moreso is the cutest little gem that I wish I had stumbled upon sooner. The space is small with a couple of tables to sit at. They have a great selection of both healthy plates and sweets to choose from, all of which are gluten-free and vegan. The staff here were a delight to chat with, adding to an overall amazing experience. While I was here, I tried their seasonal split pea soup and pumpkin cheesecake brownie. The soup was hearty and seasoned perfectly. The pumpkin cheesecake brownie was outstanding. It wasn't overly sweet which I appreciated. Love this place but i just got me and my fiancé food from here and our bowls were missing ingredients.. my 42nd bowl did not have kale, pickled jalapeños, or cilantro.. my fiancé's cully bbq bowl didn't have cabbage slaw or the butternut squash.. My husband and I came to Portland 6 years ago and first had Rawdacious cheesecake through a restaurant carrying their product. We were so excited to be able to come to the cafe they've opened that has so many flavors and options. Everything on the menu is gluten free and vegan. I didn't think the neighborhood was ready for such a venue when they opened a few years ago. But my first time back put that to rest as the place was packed, they definitely have earned a following. The service is still friendly and the options are creative and delicious. Our friend ordered their Thanksgiving meal for 2 which easily fed the 3 of us with a portion of salad for another person and the main course - Shepherd's pie (seemed like potatoes, lentil, tiny pieces of tofu, said a dusting of sauerkraut) had more than half left over as, quite frankly, it wasn't so great - very bland. The Parsnip Chowder was all of our very favorite - delicious! Definitely would like the recipe. The shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad was fine with a fine dressing which looked very much like ranch dressing - said it was a vinaigrette. Seared Green Beans were fine - basic green beans. "Candied yams" - not sure what the white stuff was - too sweet for my taste - yams are sweet by themselves - The pumpkin pie was tiny and fine - I think we needed to have served it all on our plates at same time so we could have assessed how much of each to eat - there was also a very tiny raspberry cornbread which was lovely. This is one of my top five favorite places in portland. They are consistently delicious. The NE 42nd Ave location is a combination of Rawdacious desserts, and Tiny Moreso, a small vegan cafe. Their offerings are very creative and unusual, with intriguing and unexpected combinations of ingredients. I particularly like their sandwich specials. The vegan cheesecake offerings are unfailingly sumptuous (and one can consume them with less guilt / remorse compared with cow-milk-based equivalents). Highly recommended. This review is long overdue because Tiny Moreso has been one of my favorite places for a while now! I am going to go as far as to say it's the best vegan cheesecake in Portland! Pretty much every notable event in our lives for the past couple of years has been marked with an incredible dessert from here, because the cheesecake is absolute perfection. Anniversaries, birthdays, days where folks needed encouragement, Thanksgiving, Father's Day, Mother's Day..... Tiny Moreso always seems to mark the occasion. It doesn't matter which flavor of cheesecake you order because every last one is seriously off the charts. Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip (SO GOOD-get this!), Cafe Amore, Marionberry Lemon, Passionfruit, Key Lime, and Mocha are some of our favorites. I recently had a friend pick up several mini cheesecakes that I pre-ordered as a little birthday surprise for my husband. He and I were camping out in the middle of nowhere for a few days and then our friend showed up with mini cheesecakes in hand on his birthday to celebrate, and it turned out to be something really special.
