The BEST gyro I've ever had I definitely didn't expect that from a food truck but it's so good

In response to this business. I was asked to revise my post. I simply stated the FACTS. The fact of the matter is...... there are strict guidelines regarding food service during this Covid-19 pandemic that were not being followed. I am not discrediting the business by simply stating the facts. Whomever the person taking orders and handling payments on that day did not switch gloves, let alone wash their hands in the process of transitioning from food orders and payments to handling food. There were 4 other workers on the truck whom were handling food. There are no valid excuses to not adhere to proper protocol while handling food. It should not be used as an excuse that no food was actually being touched by hands or the gloves but instead by serving instruments, or that orders were behind. The simple fact that the serving instruments, containers, etc. were being touched after handling orders and payments, with no hand washing or glove changes during transition leads to cross contamination. I should not have to explain this. Obviously we have differing opinions of what is considered sanitary and unsanitary. When you know better, do better. I completely understand how hard it has been for everyone during this pandemic and that is one of the reasons I came out to support. This business has definitely got to do better going forward. Even if we were not in a a pandemic, as food service workers they should know better. They should know the importance of hand washing and what the guidelines are and be putting them into action. If I hadn't pointed these things out, these gross errors would have continued. read more

There's at least a couple local Greek/gyro food trucks in St. Louis, and I must say that Go Gyro Go! is my favorite! The prices, portions, and quality is consistently good! I've had the pleasure of enjoying their food twice, the most recent time being this week. I ordered a Classic Gyro with a side salad. The gyro was GINORMOUS and filled to the brim with lamb meat, tzatziki, and the standard veggie fixins!!!! It was delicious! I have previously had their tzatziki dip with pita and it was really good and reasonably priced. The total for my gyro and salad combo was $11 but was well worth the price considering how big the gyro was. If you see this truck in a lineup, remember GO GYRO GO is the one you want! read more

So I noticed that reviews for this business is Ike a year or older which is never good! Anyway my wife saw this food truck advertised to be in local area of Creve Coeur/Maryland Heights. Awesomeness! I had to try out because as a Brit we love our Doner Kebah aka Gyros here! So the wrap is well stuffed with meat... compare to say StLouis Gyro. My only change is that for my next order I'll ask for more salad added (without charge hopefully) as what I received was kinda paltry when compare with St Louis Gyro. At a price of $10 (without tip) against St. Louis gyro $9, it's comparable. Would hope that the future condiments include pepperoncini, and yogurt garlic sauce, Delish! read more

I have eaten at the truck twice now. I find it convenient and tasty. If I have time to go out to eat I usually hit another local Greek restaurant . But when I can't get out and this is parked in front of my building it is a great option. My first experience the Gyro was a bit dry. I think I was the first one out at lunch and therefore got the outer layer of the gyro on the spit. The second one was much better. They modify the food according to request (extra this, lite that, etc) with no problem. I wish they would have something besides chips for the sides. Those always go to someone else in the office or the trash. Something lighter would be nice. I mean it is already $8 for the sandwich, how much can a small packet of veggies run? Or take the chips off and don't charge me for them. There is always a line when this truck shows up but the wait is never long. The individual attention given to each gyro is nice. read more

Wow, the folks at Go! Gyro! Go! really, really care that you're happy with their food. So refreshing! Today, a coworker and I headed out to finally see what the fuss was about. We peeked at the online menu and each found several things that we wanted to try. Twitter told us that they were down the street from our office. My friend ordered her desired gyro just fine. However, they didn't have my veggie gyro listed on their handwritten menu board. They had a salad, but I really wanted a big honking sandwich with the side of potatoes that I'd heard so much about. I asked the really nice lady at the truck window if there was any way that I could get a gyro without meat. She gave me a mischievous look and said that that's what she always wants to eat, but her partner (husband, I think?) is a total carnivore and never remembers to put it on the menu. They bantered good-naturedly for a bit and worked out what to put on my gyro. The lady pushed the man to make sure to give me extra feta and really stuff it. So kind! And then she told me that they're testing selling spanikopita and might try fish gyros at some point. I only waited a few minutes before the man called my name, and as he was building my gyro, he kindly asked me if I wanted certain things on it or left off. I really appreciated that. We also chatted about the potatoes that I was excited to get. He said that they were his pride and that he worked really hard to adjust the recipe for the masses of people and cooking them in the truck. My gyro was stuffed with dark and light lettuce, chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, chopped cucumber, parsely and tzeziki (I can't spell it) sauce, and it was all on a fluffy round pita, surrounded by foil and served with a side of potatoes in a rectangular styrofoam container. My meal cost about $8. They took Square for credit cards - yay! I dug in back in the office and was in heaven. My sandwich had a lot of onions and cucumbers, something I was uber happy about. The tzeziki sauce was a little heavy - maybe a lighter hand would help next time, but it was still tasty. And there was so much feta on this thing that I was moaning with joy. Cheese me up, and I'll be yours forever. The potatoes were no less stellar. They looked like some combination of fried and roasted, and they had delicious seasonings. Seriously, the potatoes made me rub my belly like cartoon people do. I lovedlovedloved that Go! Gyro! Go! had sides to round out the entrees, something that other food trucks don't do. I'd love to see them add a falafel gyro to the menu. I'd also love for a vegetarian gyro to be added to the menu permanently. Can't wait for them to come back near my office. I got to hit up this truck at ArtFeast at Crestwood Court today, along with 4 others. Yep, that's right, my sister and I ate items from 5 total trucks. YES! This was one of my faves. I almost didn't even look at the menu because I'm a vegetarian, but then I noticed that they have spanakopita, greek salad, and roasted potatoes on the menu, all veg friendly. I ordered the spanakopita, and the lady at the window told me that they brought it back after not being offered for a bit, and that she hoped they didn't sell out because she wanted some for herself! I misread the price and thought it was $3, but it was really $6. Hm, pricey... until I saw what I got. A HUGE hunk of spinach feta pie. I couldn't wait to dig in. I wasn't disappointed. It was some of the best I'd ever had. Very flavorful, full of feta and spinach, and moist. It was a meal! If I were to go to the truck for lunch without others around, I would for sure get the salad and this and it would be filling. I'd love to see something else veg on the menu, like a veg gyro or falafel, but if that doesn't happen, I'm still a happy vegetarian with what they've got! I'll be back! read more

Tasted this truck for the 1st time at Food Truck Friday and it was delicious! I don't consider myself any kind of gyro expert, but if I was imagining the perfect one then this would be it! I went with the traditional gyro. What you get stuffed into this pita is amazingly worth the value. From the tons of meat, to the freshest ingredients, to the perfect sauce ratio. My coworkers and I are so thankful for all of the food trucks that come over near Tropicana Bowl as it's close enough for use to come over from Clayton, who doesn't allow trucks. Go! Gyro! Go! is easily our favorite as we've gone twice now and are always looking to see when they'll be coming back. The owners are so friendly and the food is great! I always stick with a classic gyro, which comes with chips (plain flavor, kettle chips). The flavor of this gyro is fantastic - definitely on par or better than Olympia's (who has my favorite gyro). I think Go!'s tzatziki has the perfect creamy consistency and a little kick of some kind of herb that just compliments the meat perfectly. read more

The truck was in Kirkwood Friday evening and we stopped by for dinner; two classic gyros and a large Greek salad. The gyros were really good and BIG. Lots of meat, fresh greens, onions and tasziki sauce on fresh baked pita bread. As good as the gyros were, the salad was a bit of a disappointment. Yes it had fresh veggies and some nice olives, but there wasn't much feta cheese and what there was were sort of small crumbles. The dressing was ok, but not terribly exciting. Maybe it was an off night, but the salad was a bit boring. We would go back again though, if only for the yummy gyro's. read more

Ok Covid. You stopped me going out for the last few months but last week I hit a wall and just COULD. NOT. FACE. cooking one more dam# dinner so I broke & tried GGG. Twice. This week. Result? I'm officially loving GGG. This Pre-Covid germaphobe hasn't eaten out since February due to the Covid issue and I have to say that GGG was on it with their sanitizing. All staff were in masks & gloves (which I actually saw get changed-hurrah), the cutlery & napkins were individually plastic wrapped, I paid w/CC & saw them sanitize the iPad before & after signature so a little puzzled by the review below saying the sanitizing was lax..... That just wasn't my experience at all, during either visit & I'm super pernickity. So, on to the food. From an admitted salad dodger, I never thought I'd utter this line, but I think I'm addicted to their salads. Yeah. Major WTH moment for me. Everything was super fresh, cold and crunchy and huge. This is not a wimpy salad. GYG are generous w/their big chunks of tomato, cucumber, onions & olives. You know you've got a good box o'salad when it's actually heavy. And their house dressing? I don't know what they put in it, but I bet it'd make even gravel pretty tasty. I got the warm toasted pittas & taziki/tahini cups on the side & it was great. A nice mix of fresh/crunchy/cold & warm pitta w/dip. IMHO, the only thing that'd make GGG even better, would be the addition of falafel to the menu. Falafel patties/balls are awesome in Gyros as a meat alternative or as a side w/salad. Keep up the good work, GGG. As Arnie said, I'll be back. read more

Not just the best gyro from a food truck, I would argue best gyro in St Louis. Pita bread was fresh and tasty. Lamb was not dry and the cuts were thick. Tzatziki was flavorful. Onions and tomatoes were fresh. Overall large portion. I got classic gyro, toasted pita with extra Tzatziki and it was under $13. read more

As I was walking out of my work to head home for lunch, I saw Go! Gyro! Go!'s truck outside. Knowing the beautiful wife's fondness for gyros, I ordered a couple. They had a number of options today: Gyro (beef and lamb) Souvlaki chicken or pork Spanakopita Greek roasted potatoes and probably some other things I've forgotten. I went with two classic gyros -- these are normally $7.50 each and come with a side of potatoes. Unfortunately, the potatoes weren't ready yet, so they took $1 off each gyro. They take cash and use Square for credit cards (yay) One of the great things about this truck is that they're constantly grilling the meat, so there wasn't much of a wait at all. I thought it was pretty good -- there was a lot of tzatziki (though it wasn't the most flavorful I've had) and plenty of meat. The only vegetables were onions and tomatoes, which is traditional method of preparation, so don't be disappointed at the lack of, say, lettuce or hot peppers. Overall, I was pretty happy -- I look forward to trying to potatoes and other offerings at future visits. I like food trucks, and I love gyros! This place was made for me! I've seen it around a few times but most recently I stopped by when they were outside BJC/Wash U downtown for lunch. I went with the Classic (beef and lamb meat) Gyro, fully loaded. Fantastic! It was huge, and they definitely don't skimp out on the good stuff! Great flavor, loved the creamy tzatziki. A veggie gyro you say? Hook me up! The truck was at my work today and I was the first in line at 11 am sharp since I had skipped breakfast. Was so happy they accept debit cards and I ordered the veggie gyro. Lady rang it through and apologized profusely because she would have to reimburse me 60 something cents because it was adding sales tax when it shouldn't. I told her not to worry about it but she insisted. I suggested instead to just give me extra tzatziki and we could call it square. Brought my gyro back to my desk and dug in...it was sooooooo good. Lots of fresh veggies (how do they keep their veggies fresh when it's lava degrees outside?) and it had loads of feta. Great olives, too. The pita was soft and tasty. Came with potato chips on the side. I would definitely eat this again. I would like to see falafel on the menu, especially in the form of a gyro. Yuuuuuuuuuum. PS Friendly service, too. read more

Happened upon this truck while working downtown earlier this week - it was parked on Market at 8th street (I think.) Ordered a regular gyro with no onions, and a bag of chips. The gyro was tasty - carved off the spit with the right amount of tomatoes, parsley, tzatziki(sp?) sauce, and feta to bring out the flavor of the meat. The chips were...well, chips. The sandwich was manageable, but was served in a box. I found this a bit odd for a food truck. Kinda thought the idea was to walk with your food, but whatever. I ate most of the sandwich, which means that most of the guys that I work with might have thought it was small. It was also $10 for a sandwich and bag of chips. This seems really pricey to me for a place that has very little overhead. Service was friendly and pretty fast. Warning - the following anecdote is unrelated to the review: While I was standing there waiting for my gyros, the traffic light on the corner next to the truck just fell out of the sky! No one hit it, there was no wind, etc it just randomly gave out. There was a lady crossing the street about three feet from it who needs to either go play the lottery or take it as a warning and change her evil ways. The best Gyro I have ever had since moving from NYC to Missouri over 23 years ago. I saw their Food Truck parked downtown and a long line. I waited and ordered the Classic Beef/Lamb Gyro and it was well worth the wait. Now I know why the long line since apparently its a favorite for many. It came folded and wrapped as I remember the way it is served in NYC and the meat was large and very juicy. One side note: There was a homeless man seated nearby and one of the proprietors gave him a meal and a bottle of water. Great gesture and everyone applauded when seeing this. read more

Couldn't take another day at Bread Co., and I only had 10 minutes to grab a bite. Food trucks have been swarming to Pine and Broadway, so a quick walk outside revealed the Go! Gyro! Go! truck. I'm always down for a good gyro, so... Yeah. It's WAY better than good. It was delish! I had the classic gyro, although they had several (a meatball gyro, and a chicken souvlaki gyro, too) to choose from. Their Greek Salad looked tasty. The roasted potatoes, which came with the classic gyro for $7.50, were ok - really just steak fries with some seasoning, nothing exotic. Tasty enough. But the potatoes paled in comparison to the gyro. And I LOVE that they asked if I wanted everything on it. No, I'm not a fan of parsley, and it's an option you can leave off. And they offer to do so. The best veggie gyro I have ever had! Simple, fresh ingredients... slightly toasted pita and right amount of sauce so it's not too soggy! I could eat this every week!! Super friendly and the person assembling actually changed his gloves (he was handling meat with it earlier) to make my veggie gyro! I had this truck for the first time last night at the symphony in Forest Park. I admittedly waited too long to get food, but this truck stayed until the very end. Like I was in line when the fireworks were finished and still got served very end. Before even eating their food I was very impressed that they seemed to be prepared to serve a large crowd when none of the other trucks there were. Now, on to the food. It was WONDERFUL. I have never had a traditional gyro before, but that is all they had left so I didn't have a ton of choice. Literally this was one of the best sandwich-type things I have ever had, and sandwiches are my favorite food. The serving size was large, the pita was fresh and chewy, the meat was delicious, and all the toppings were perfectly portioned. I hope the Go! Gyro! Go! truck is near me again soon!!! read more

Hands down the best gyros in STL and I've tried a LOT of them. They really do everything right. From the puffy deliciously flavorful pitas with the yummiest tzatziki sauce to the shaved red onion. I always get the veggie gyro and the sheer volume of vegetables they cram into that pita is incredible. Tomatoes? Check. Green peppers? Check. Cucumbers? Check. Kalamata olives? Double check. I've been waiting to try Go! Gyro! Go! for some time and finally got to experience their yummy food yesterday at ArtFeast at Crestwood Court. I was looking forward to their food so much that I waited for them to open and I it was worth it! I ordered the Chicken Tahini Gyro ($7.50) which comes with roasted potatoes, however they were not yet ready yet so they took $1 off my order. I was kind of dissapointed with no potatoes but the gyro was so filling and delicious, that I didn't miss them. Not to mention, Go! Gyro! Go! was very apologetic about the potatoes. I will be back to try the roasted potatoes - I've heard they are a great compliment to the gyro's. read more

We have a steady stream of food trucks at work and my lunch crew decided to try the Gyro truck. I've been to a handful of other Greek restaurants in town so I was skeptical that the price/quantity would measure up to the others. Boy was I wrong. The gyro is packed, and their tzakiki sauce is tops. Plenty of meat, plenty of "fixins"; this thing was amazing. (Which was probably why the line was so freakin' long) They don't seem to have a regular day so I'll just keep my eyes open because I'll definitely be eating here again. read more

I ordered the vegetable gyro and was given a free greek salad side order. The greek salad is amazing! Hubby loved his gyro says he's only had one better ever. Seriously one of the best gyros I've ever had. I ordered the chicken souvlaki. The chicken was tender, well seasoned, warm, and generously topped with tzatziki sauce. Mmm. I am sad my styrofoam box is already empty. Go Gyro Go is my favorite food truck so far. They do seem to have an ingredient problem - today they were out of tahini. Still, five stars, what I ordered was awesome. Further items of note: the owner (who took our order) and the cooking staff were really friendly. Go! Gyro! Go! is a every week must have! Each time they are at Wells Fargo Advisors the line just grows. At least 3-5 of us from dept have it each week. We'be even converted the pickiest of eaters into trying it! Each of the dishes have been great but I am partial to the classic gyro (beef & lamb). The salads are also very popular amongst the crowd. The crew inside the truck is always smiling and moving as fast as possible. If you see this truck parked near you....there is a reason for the long line! You won't be disappointed! read more

I ate there on Food Truck Friday in Tower Grove Park on 9-9-13. Lines were long which is a good sign to me. Plus I love a good gyro. So I ordered the standard gyro. I also bought extra sauce for $1.00. The lady told me that the sauce comes on it already however having eaten gyro's all over and loving the sauce I got it anyway. I did not eat it right away and stashed it in the car to eat it at home. I already was a bit full from cake from Sarah's and 2 taco's from Seoul Taco. The smell of deliciousness was wafting through the car. I had planned on "saving it" for later but by the time I got home I had to dig in. Very good. The meat was cut THICK but not too thick. It was perfect. The sauce was heaven and I did not need the extra sauce I ordered. The feta cheese was a bit heavy handed for my taste. I cannot believe I have to say that since I love feta cheese. However, I wanted to taste more of the meat and sauce and if you are a cheese person you know how much it can overpower a salad or sandwich. Might get the cheese on the side next time because the sauce and meat were so good! If you like a good gyro, seek them out! read more
