The food here is just good, not great. There's a good selection but the quality is average. The broths are good and there's many broth choices. The service is good, but it can be slow at times. The restaurant is nice and big and the booths are nice and wide which is good when eating hot pot. Overall, if you're in the area is an option but not the best i've had.

My husband and I just had dinner at Go Shabu, this was our first time in a hot pot place, and it did not disappoint ! My husband was stoked haha I had the Go Shabu Spicy, and my husband the Signature Tom Yum, both broths are amazing, I loved the dumplings, the quail eggs, their fresh veggies selection, and the meats just melllt in your mouth as expected! everything was wonderful! The seafood selection is impressive and they even have a great ice cream selection, so yeah we are pretty pleased and excited to come back! Service is super helpful, and the place is clean and inviting. Great experience at Go Shabu!

Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food- This place's food selection is great. There isn't the most amount of variety, especially compared to places in Houston, but Go Shabu makes up for it in the quality of the items. On top of this, all of their broths (and yes, I have had all of them), are fantastic, and the ability to mix broths allows for a plethora of amazing options depending on what you're looking for (Some of my favorites are GSP+Tomato, Miso+Sukiyaki, Tomato+Chicken, Curry+GSP). Whenever I go to hot pot places, I tend to only order beef as my meat of choice, and this place offers six great options with a good variety of lean to fatty meats, depending on your preference. Their sauce selection is also solid, with all the classics that most people want. Throughout all of the people I've shared meals with at this place, I haven't had a single person have a negative experience with the food, and that amazes me. Service- Been here with group sizes between 2 and 11, and this place tends to do way better with smaller group sizes due to the table layout only having 2-6 pots per table. Depending on your server, the speed at which the meats and soups come out can take anywhere from 2 minutes to 10 minutes, which is a pretty big gap. With a place like this, timing is everything for faster eaters, and unfortunately this gap makes some experiences lesser than others. Ambiance- Solid. They sometimes change where ingredients are placed, which makes it a little confusing whenever you're walking around, but nothing to change the experience in a negative way. Yes, this place has its flaws for sure, but I always get a great experience with the food and the atmosphere overall. Whether you're going with friends or the whole family, Go Shabu offers an inclusive experience for everyone. Ice cream attached.

Food has always been amazing. Service is impeccable and never once had a terrible experience. We keep coming back! Really nice to have AYCE hotpot on this side of town. Come show your support if you're in the Bay Area!

Food was on point. Service was good. Ambiance was stellar. They have a badass selection of fresh meats, seafood and produce. My sister & I picked the Japanese curry bone broth. It had a slight kickancoconut after taste. Delicious. Service was very nice. Our server was very kind, professional and patient. My sister asked a lot io questions. Lol he answered all of them flawlessly, so extra points for being knowledgeable about menu and recommendations. I love how clean it was in there! They always had someone checking, refreshing and cleaning everywhere. Clean restrooms and parking lot. My sister said strawberry ice cream was good, but green tea was lacking? Idk. I couldn't taste, burned my mouth on my second boil. Smelt good though! Lol

An amazing Ayce hot pot place!! First time visiting and loved the experience in every way! Service was amazing; our waiter explained eveyerthing in detail and was very patient. We came for dinner and opted for the ayce option! They had so many different vegetables to choose from, as well as sauces and proteins! The meat tastes so fresh, as did the vegetables! Workers consistently came to our table to clear out any empty dishes. Really loved the ice cream for dessert- tried every flavor and my favorites were oreo and green tea! The restaurant itself is very intimate and relaxing. It's great for groups of all sizes, as well as dates. Parking is really easy with a lot right outside. 11/10 recommend, especially on a cold day

Whenever you are feeling down on a cold day, you should definitely gather the homies and head to Go Shabu Spicy hot pot to warm up. The selection of broths, meats, seafood, veggies, sauces, etc. are far and beyond the best you could get for $19 (plus tax). The flavors of the broth were brought out perfectly through the meat and the veggies. I would recommend trying a bit of each meat on the menu. And it's all-you-can-eat, so just order your favorites after that! My personal strategy, is to have a few bowls of each meat, then take an intermission with some ice cream, and then move back to a few bowls of my favorite meats to finish the meal. The strawberry ice cream is so creamy and rich, it's to die for. I CREAMED FOR THIS ICE! I'm also a big fan of the octopus and squid as well as the shellfish, even though they're a bit hard to peel after being boiled. Friendliness is a staple at this institution. My server was attentive throughout my hour and a half meal. Consistently checking up and seeing if we needed more meats or more drinks. She was very bubbly and kind. It really added to the unique ambience of the restaurant, which was bright colored and traditional. Overall, I give Go Shabu Spicy 17/17.5 Freys (that's my new rating system for Yelp now btw). It's perfect for a chilly winter day in the Webster area! FREY OUT!

Buffet style, all you can eat - variety of broths for each customer, and waitress will bring your choice of proteins 'till your stuffed. Well stocked buffet, ingredients are absolutely fresh, with a wide variety for any palate. Loads of noodles, veggies, and seafood. They even have a box of gloves so you can prep your food (if needed) without getting it all over your hands. Very friendly service, waitress explained how everything worked, and was on the spot with drink and protein refills. Menu also had all the info you needed, including suggested cooking times for the various items. Good spot for a leisurely meal with friends, family!

I had low expectations coming to this place but I was really surprised. It's an all you can eat shabu which I was excited about. My husband and I came here for dinner with his coworkers. It was $22.99/person for dinner but for both of us we paid a total of around $66 including gratuity since we had 11 people in our group. I ordered the go shabu spicy broth and my husband ordered the sukiyaki (vegetarian) broth. Both broths were delicious! You have to order the meats (beef, pork, lamb) and bowl of rice from your server but they are pretty fast at giving it to you. The seafood, sauces, and vegetables are on the buffet table so you can easily get that once you get your broth. They also have ice cream that you can scoop it out yourself. The meats, seafood, and sauces were great. The service was great also. Overall, this place is great and I recommend it.

We were looking for a hot pot spot for a quick lunch and found Go Shabu. Very attractive interior and good seating space. Our waiter, Kevin, was awesome. Service was quick. Food quality was fresh. The salad bar included various noodles, dumplings, greens, starches, and seafood. There were no actual salad items, only items to add into your soup base. There was a nice selection of sauces to choose from, and delicious ice cream selection for dessert. I'd go back again, but would also try other spots. This would not be my go-to spot because of the minimal selection options of their salad bar. Pricing was fair and a military discount was provided. Less than $50 for two people.

I recently opted for the Diamond AYCE set, and it was hands-down one of the best dining experiences I've had.  The Diamond tier is worth every penny. It unlocks the entire menu, giving you access to the most premium cuts and decadent sides. Here is the breakdown of why this spot is a must-visit: The Meat & Seafood * Japanese A5 Wagyu: The star of the show. The marbling is incredible, and it literally melts the moment it hits your tongue.  * Australian & American Wagyu: Even the "lower" tier meats here are exceptional. The ribeye and brisket were fresh, tender, and flavorful.  * Premium Seafood: The Diamond set includes a fresh seafood platter featuring succulent lobster (Boston and Norway), sweet shrimp, and sashimi-grade salmon that was incredibly fresh.  Signature Sides & Appetizers The Diamond set isn't just about the pot; the appetizers are high-end restaurant quality: * Wagyu Bone Marrow: Rich, creamy, and decadent--a rare find for an AYCE spot.  * Foie Gras Toast & Wagyu Nigiri: These elevated starters set the tone for a luxury meal. * Truffle Wagyu Beef Don: If you have any room left, this bowl is packed with umami. The Atmosphere & Service The service is top-notch. The staff is attentive, constantly refilling broths (the Sukiyaki and Spicy Miso are personal favorites) and clearing empty plates without you ever having to flag them down. The 90-minute limit is more than enough time to get through several rounds of premium cuts.

We ordered the triple broth: spicy bone tallow, tomato, and chicken. The spicy broth definitely packs a punch (even for spice lovers-stay hydrated ). The tomato broth was rich, savory, and hands-down my favorite. The chicken broth was a little bland, but the overall flavors were still solid. While I wish there was a bigger meat and seafood selection (especially for seafood lovers like me), everything we ordered was delicious. When you walk in, there is a waiting area where you can sit while waiting to be seated. They also provide some water and snacks in the front while waiting. It also has a photo spot near the front. For the food, there is a big selection. They have lots of soup bases, and it's possible to switch soup bases if you feel tired of the one you started with. I tried a few and they were all good. The flavors start to mix after you put in your hotpot ingredients, so I would suggest drinking some of the soup beforehand. My favorite broth I tried was the duck broth. You can really taste the duck and it's the most flavorful to me, and someone in the group said you can really taste the five spice powder (I couldn't but I liked it a lot). The tonkatsu is pretty decent and tastes like what you expect. I tried the Shabu En special broth, and it tastes like dashi soup. Very standard and pretty good broth. In my opinion, the sukiyaki broth is good for short term broth and just dipping your meat temporarily. To me the sweetness overpowered the soy sauce flavor, but it's still very good. You get your meat by ordering with the server, but they come by very often and it comes out very quickly that you don't really notice a long period without any meat. At the center where you grab veggies and the sauce bar, there are sections where you can get drinks, such as tea and Vietnamese coffee, which is in addition to the drinks you can order off the menu. There is also a small dessert station but it's a must try! It has a snow shaved ice, and it has a toppings bar next to it with toppings and different sauces you can put on it. Overall, it's a really good AYCE restaurant that's definitely worth trying out.

I would say that would be a basic Chinese hotpot broth to try if this is your first time. I don't recommend the SUKIYAKI broth. The menu says that this is a popular broth for beginners. But you're basically cooking in sweet soy sauce. 5. Cleanliness - dining area was clean, buffet table would do better if they have an extra person manning the table. Tongs were sticky and food droppings on the table. The restrooms were humid and smelly. Something they can easily work on with a little more focus to cleanliness.

Service was fast, and what seemed like a seemingly small building was actually bustling. We ordered the Best of Both Worlds option and requested the Spicy Bone Marrow along with the Tomato Broth; they complement each other quite well, with the Spicy Bone Marrow being our personal favorite. It is definitely spicy, but nothing that I couldn't handle. The Tomato Broth was delicious as well, but added a nice sweetness to our meal. We chose the Classic All-You-Can-Eat lunch deal, and ordered a plate of the Natural Prime-Aged Lamb, the Hand Sliced Beef Short Plate, the Marinated Garlic Beef, and the Pork Belly; I can't say I'm a huge fan of how they divided the meat selections, however, since I could get premium meat elsewhere without being limited. But overall, the meat was of decent quality, and the buffet offered various options. Compared to other hot pot places, they even had a section where you could serve yourself egg rolls, white rice/fried rice, and stir-fried noodles, though I can't speak to the quality... very much buffet-quality if you catch my drift, but still lovely nonetheless. Similarly, you can fetch your own iced drinks and dessert too. I do wish Happy Lamb's sauce station had special pre-made flavors or instructions for making them, much like Shabu Zone or Haidilao; sometimes I don't trust myself to freestyle my own sauce. There are some cross-contamination concerns as well, since there'd be about 4 tongs at foot/pants level, but at least 9 food options (e.g., noodles, dumplings, veggies) to choose from. Not sure if other people share the same sentiment, but I guess they all get boiled in the end anyway. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in Downtown Houston! But I wouldn't call Happy Lamb my go-to spot.

The Vietnamese fruit cocktail che is also a nice touch that my parents love getting. Vegetable/Noodle options: Good options, I love the pumpkin and broccolli, watercress, spinach, enoki mushroom too! Lots of seafood options and different noodles. The hand pulled korean flat noodles are amazing. Broth: Broth is good, with sukiyaki being a favorite of mine along with Miso and Tonkotsu (vegetarian is nice as well). While the broths here are not as flavorful as rival shabu places like (Shabu En), it is good enough and does not hinder the experience. Overall, I will stand by my love for shabu zone. May be busy and hard to get a table at times though because of how popular they are.

Wish I could give them 20 stars! My friend suggested we try this place out and as neither of us…read morehave ever been before we decided to try it. And I'm so glad we did! The service was top notch Kevin our waiter was perfect, he explained exactly what us first timers needed to know (we opted for the BBQ vs Hot Pot) and gave excellent amount of service without interrupting too often, but without ignoring. And now my favorite part the food.... We ordered the following for our meat selections: Prime Beef Brisket, Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Garlic Chicken, Pork Belly, Cumin Lamb and Garlic Shrimp. For veggies: Shiitake mushrooms, Mung Bean Sprouts, Onions, Bamboo Shoots, Eggplant, Zucchini and we topped it off with a pineapple drink. My friend said the veal and the pork belly were both delicious, I don't eat either so my review is based on everything else. OMG the flavors were so packed into the meats they needed nothing else. The spicy beef bulgogi was by far my absolute favorite (I polished off two full servings myself) the spice profile was so perfect that it enhanced the beef without masking the natural flavor and the use a good quality beef as well so any toughness is due to your own over cooking which still didn't happen. The shrimp and chicken came in tied for second place for flavor bomb, I'm pretty sure they marinate this stuff for days for it to taste so full of flavor! There is also a fully stocked "Sauce Bar" with so many different kinds of sauces and additions. The inside is very large, but not loud and they have a full bar for those who wish to sit there. If you haven't tried them yet GO! You and your stomach will thank me.

Had a great meal with friends on New Year's Day…read more The venue is older and needs a bit more effort on upkeep. It is eclectic, decorated in an Asian pop culture theme with [sometimes promiscuous lol] music videos playing on a big projector screen. And, it is honestly loud (booths are in rather close proximity to one another and there's constant clatter & commotion from the table action). We had a few issues - the grill didn't stay hot (either malfunctioning or low on fuel), there weren't any hot buffet options (like other locations offer), and a few menu items were unavailable (ran out) - but we enjoyed our meal, nonetheless. Even with a few missing offerings, there is plenty of variety - meats, seafood, vegetables, soups, noodles & rice. The sauce bar has many condiments & dips; you can play mad scientist with your seasonings/marinade. And, there was a cold buffet that offered kimchi and a few fruits. They also had a long list of beverages that included boozy cocktails and exotic smoothies or teas. Kevin was an outstanding server - extremely attentive & superbly patient (bless his heart for accommodating our rowdy and very needy group of newbies lol). He was assisted by a hard working team of table runners and busters who kept us stockpiled and refilled. The crew made sure things were never amiss. Some tips for first-timers: -The AYCE pricing is applied to the whole table, so you have to make a group decision if you want to do bbq or hotpot or both ($5 add on). -Holidays and weekends are priced for Dinner all day. -They don't take reservations, so there may be a wait (especially if you have a large group). -It is booth seating throughout, with a max of 6 people per booth. -You have a 2 hour time limit (which seems like a lot, but you do have to wait for meat to cook on the grill).
