When we went was more than an hour before closing but everything was on the warmer dried and did not get replaced. Rangoons were stale but the flavor of the filling implied it would be good if it was fresh. The wontons for the soup were all stuck together. The crab was a full pan that looked to be out for hours. Their lunch buffet costs $11.00 and change. I thought I was getting a deal. I needed a quick lunch. The place feels unclean. I should have left as soon as I entered. The sushi was soft. It seemed as if it had been sitting out for a long time or had been reused from the day before. They provide plastic gloves, which is great, but it's not mandatory. Everyone is touching the same spoon handles over and over and over again. The one thing I would say was good was that the service was friendly. They go out of their way to clear your used plate off the table as soon as you're done. This place is terrible. Dont go! If I could give this restaurant a 0, I would. My family and I traveled to the area and after a long flight a drive, we thought to stop here for a variety of food. We arrived with almost an hour left before closing, but half of the buffet experience was already shut down. The Hibachi grill was completely closed and there was little to no sushi left. We inquired about the price of the food because of that circumstance and were told that each person would be around $10. With five of us, we didn't expect the bill to be over about $60-$65. After only eating 15-20 min and leaving a generous tip on the table, we got up to pay the bill at the front of the restaurant. We were handed a bill for over $120. Long story short, Yummy finally offered 25% off, but it really should have been more out of professional courtesy. Ironically enough, about 15 staff members came out from the back even before the restaurant officially closed. Where were they when it was time to provide the rest of the Hibachi experience? I wouldn't trust this place even if I was there when it opened. Very unprofessional. A lot of the food was dry. We would have had a much better experience at a drive through. The prices are great for what you're getting! Some of the stuff looks questionable but that's because of personal taste. My Husband and I always get their Hot and Spicy Chicken to-go and it's amazing! They have hibachi that is also all you can eat and that is probably their best thing there, always freshly made because it's cooked as you make it yourself. Located in the old Ryan's Steakhouse building in Texas City. Excellent Chinese buffet. Very reasonable price. Top notch service. Most Chinese buffets have disappeared and those remaining have food that is not exciting. I go to them because I like the variety. We found this by Google search looking for a new place to try. The experience matched up to the ratings. A bit of drive from Friendswood, it was worth the trip. I can't think of a single thing that I like in Asian food that was not on the extensive buffet. The service here is pretty good. I have been here twice with no issues. They are constantly walking around refilling drinks, picking up finished plates and asking if the customer needs anything. The buffet selection is pretty good. They have a good variety of chicken, seafood, rice, noodles and fried dishes. The sushi selection could be improved but we are talking about a buffet so that's understandable. They have a very small collection of sashimi (tuna, salmon, etc). Easily the best Chinese buffet in the area! First impressions - the restaurant is pretty clean and has a solid selection of food. There's pretty much the prototypical offerings you would expect from a Chinese buffet: fried food, soups, sushi, various rice dishes and noodles, your kung paos and general tsos, random American food, fruits, and a limited selection of desserts. So what makes this buffet so good? It just does all of those things pretty well. All of the food was on par with a neighborhood Chinese take-out place. And since this is a buffet, you're hopefully coming in with an appetite so that makes it that much more worth it. Some highlights were the sushi (both in variety and quality), the hibachi rice, and stuffed crab. One thing that could've been improved was the mac and cheese - it was kinda bland. But overall all the food was good. There's even a hibachi that I did not get to try. Side note: bathrooms are clean and wait staff is attentive, so that's always a plus! My daughter and I went here for our first time yesterday and I saw the prices on yelp. When they brought us the ticket her price was for an adult 11 & up. No one ever asked how old my child was but it was $13.99 per person. Instead of the $11.89 for Adult buffer and $7.49 for Child buffet as shown on menu prices. This week-old eatery looks nice inside, but the food here you can find at any other Chinese buffet. The same old blandness and unoriginality at a different location. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. Fear not, though. There are a few -- strong emphasis on "few" -- good things about Yummy squared. For one, the sushi is tasty and fresh. For two, the hibachi grill has steaks for grilling. Speaking of the steaks, I'll follow my cousin's advice and just help myself to mostly those the next time around. read more

This was my second visit and both experiences were the same. The service is excellent as the staff are attentive and kind. I love they sell beer, I had the Sapporo Japanese kind the second visit and liked it. I was hesitant to try the sushi but can report it was unwarranted- it was tasty and I've suffered no ill effects! There are some menu items I would have never tried had it not been on the buffet, I'll let you be the judge though as our table gave mixed reviews on the taste. I really like this buffet although it takes half an hour driving from the island. It serves with delicious and Asian tasting dishes, reminding me of the the good times when I stayed in my hometown. And the waitresses are always friendly and welcoming to all the guests here, unlike many other Asian restaurants. We have eaten at this restaurant before and it was ok. This time, we were tired from traveling all day and it was close to our hotel. My husband started feeling bad before we even finished the meal, feeling so cute his stomach. We went to leave, he went to the truck while I stood in line to pay. As I was standing there, a small boy was shaking cans of Sprite that was in a cooler across from the checkout. The woman cashier was apparently his mother. She saw him doing it and was smiling in approval at his antics. As the child walked back to his mother, I said that wasn't very nice what you did. He just smiled. I said what happens if someone opens a can and it sprays all over their nice clothes. He didn't say anything. I asked him if he played with the food too and the mom said "I don't let him go back there" ..which wasn't true because I had seen him by the buffet tables earlier. I understand boys will be boys but the mom's attitude about it and the fact that my husband has been up sick all night from the food makes me wonder what was done to the food . Did not matter if it was the "hot" buffet food, the dessert(which tasted a day old), or the sushi bar(yes, I know). My husband told me not to get the sushi because it never is good at a buffet but everything else was bad so, hey, why not. I had to go to the bathroom immediately afterward. We noticed after we ate that there was a sign that said, "food is put out at 10:45am, 2:45pm and 6:45pm. So since I went at 12:50pm, apparently, I should not have expectedthe food to be hot or good.
