This is a huge buffet. They probably have anything you may think you may want. They are located on Fry road in the save shopping area as Ollie's, Michael's and Spec's to name a few. When you walk in you have to pay in advance and then you are directed to a hostess station that seats you. They will take your drink order then you are on to the Buffett. Overall, for $21 and an empty stomach, this is worth going for sure. Staff are super fast and friendly. The location is spacious and large which plenty of seating. The best thing about feast buffet is their variety. As seen in the pictures, they have food from numerous cuisines like American, Mexican, Dim sum, sushi, seafood, and soups. They have tons of dessert options and ice cream cups too. Their food is slightly above standard for buffets in my opinion. All the options give variety and don't make you tired of the same food. They also have a hibachi and grill section, which is a little disappointing. The meats and noodles always come back a little cripsy and burnt. On top of that, I felt like there was not really any flavor but it was salty. Some people may like that, but for me, I did not enjoy it. This is a very large place, no doubt. Besides something inside a casino, this is the largest buffet I've seen, offering Chinese, American, Mexican and Japanese options. To be honest, there is nothing special about the food - at all. I don't recall one thing that was actually good. But this is not a place for quality: it's all quantity here. From the food to the patrons. There was never less than 50 people in line the entire time I was there. While we were being seated, we noticed that the servers will not even let one chair go to waste. Given the large amount of people coming through, I get it from a business standpoint. One very uncomfortable situation was at the end of our meal, the server reminded us that the tip was not included with the check. They saw we were also Chinese and spoke to us in Chinese basically begging for more tips, and thereby pretty much guilting us into tipping more (for very little service btw, my iced tea was never refilled). This end to the night really put me off. If you are hankering to check out the largest buffet in Texas, sure come and check it out. You can get some more traditional Asian buffet foods, add some dim sum, a section of sushi, Mexican food, make your own grill, and more American foods. It can get quite busy especially around holidays. I've seen the line to get in go out the door, but if you get there before 12, it shouldn't be a problem. I've probably been here 7 or 8 times and the waitstaff are very quick to clear your used plates and refill your drinks. Not bad but the prices did rise from the previous reviews. Ambiance: It was really nice and the buffet area was well kept. The servers didn't talk to you much but they were efficient. The servers made sure to pick up trash constantly but dont even think about getting a drink refill. American food: The selection is very small but they have chicken nuggets and fries. The dinner rolls were actually really good. Every other fried thing was cold. Mexican food: The food looked really unappetizing compared to everything else so I didn't even touch it. Sushi: They have a wide sushi option. There were a lot of great rolls to choose from. I personally liked the sashimi and salmon. Seafood: The fried fish was not even warm it was lowkey cold and unappetizing. The crab and crawfish barely had any meat in it. I just didnt bother with the seafood. At the end of the day it is a glorified Chinese buffet but on a much larger scale. Everything from the sushi to the ribeye steak to the desserts are going to be mediocre at best. She wrote down the "suggested" tip of 25% or 30% tip on top of the receipt, offered to calculate it for me using her phone, and then awkwardly stood next to me while I tried to question about the high amount with my family. I told her "I'll bring the receipt to you" to get some privacy, but she lingered around me like a giant pimple on picture day. She did not leave. The quality of the food is on par with what you expect from a typical Chinese buffet. They had huge variety and all your standard Chinese buffet offerings plus more. I do appreciate how this one has raw salmon (they call sashimi), but found the serving utensils to be a disgusting. During a Saturday night, the entire place felt a bit over stimulating. If you don't like crowds and lines, come during an off peak day or hour. The parking lot is dark and feels a bit sketchy. I think they need to add more lighting. When you walk in, pay up front, put in a tip amount, they'll give you that in cash, and you can give it to the worker attending to your table. I feel like a lot of people don't tip because they paid up front, but please don't be one of those people. A great thing about Feast is that if you go on the weekend, it'll likely be very busy, so there will be fast food turnover, meaning fresher food. The trade off is that it gets really crowded by the food stations, but I'll take fresh food and crowds over old food with no lines lol Now, the biggest selling point of Feast Buffet (aside from the price), in my opinion, is the huge variety of foods they have: seafood, sushi, fried foods, American, Mexican, Chinese, hibachi, dim sum, soups, dessert and probably more I can't remember! It would be unreasonable for everything to be great, but a lot of dishes are good, you just have to find them (and not get too full before you find them lol). So make sure not to grab huge portions if you don't know what's good yet. Get a bite of whatever interests you because you can get full trying everything in here. And you don't want to waste stomach space on things that are mediocre or waste food either. A majority of the time (but not all of the time) there seems to be a leeway of one over the other. If you're reading this review, you might think of any buffet place you've been to recently, and ask yourself... does this buffet place value quantity, or quality? Sure the food can look good, sure the quantity could be great, but have you ever wondered if you can do both simultaneously? Writing this review out, I have come to the conclusion that Feast Buffet is a quantity over quality place (but only in some food areas). Let me explain. Yes they do make things fresh and cook it there (like the hibachi line or in the back), but when you walk in there and smell the aromas, your eyes may be bigger than your stomach in some cases. Some of my highlight dishes that I think are good there are the Salt and Pepper Frog Legs, General Tso Chicken, Fried Fish, some of the sushi rolls, Shu Mai, and the beef/chicken with broccoli. Then when you walk in there is a fountain with large gold fish. After paying, someone is waiting to take you to your seat. It was very organized. You then see how large the space is and the discover the huge buffet! True to its name, it has American, Mexican, Japanese and Chinese. Everything from sushi to crab legs and crawfish to mei fun, fried rice and chicken wings, tamales and mashed potatoes, there's a huge variety. I had a hard time deciding what to get! It's located in Katy and easy to get to. There's plenty of parking since it's in a shopping complex. Feast advertises as a Chinese, Japanese and Mexican buffet with a little American sprinkled in. Quite a mix of flavors and I kind of dig it. When I do get in the mood for buffets, it's because I want variety. I definitely get that here. We came when it opened, so everything was hot and fresh. The bad part about that was that the sushi was a tad bit too cold for my liking as I'm sure it's mass produced and taken out of the fridge as needed. That being said, the sushi actually tasted good. I normally try to sample almost everything, but it was just not possible at this place without spending all day eating and getting into a food coma. There's about a dozen different Mexican dishes, but I was only able to sample the chicken taquitos. There's even steak at the hibachi grill. We came during lunch on a Saturday, and the place was bustling. Interestingly enough, we pay up-front before we were seated. Water is included - other drinks cost extra. Ambience is pretty good. The place is spacious with very high ceilings, and the staff go around keeping it clean. Service is good for a buffet. The servers are friendly and kept our plates cleared on a regular basis. They've also provided a crab cracker upon request, and showed us how to tear open a crab body. I admit I was confused on why you pay first, but after seeing how big the place is and how busy, I completely get it. This restaurant has so many buffet choices. The seating area is so spacious and nicely decorated. The tables were a decent size. I didn't have to worry about blocking walkways with my two needed high chairs. The food was good.
