Yelp saved the day. I don't like asking people for rides & don't use Uber or Lyft & cabs to the airport are generally expensive. Through Yelp, searched for airport shuttles to the airport with good reviews & found Go808Express. Reservations are easy to make via their website. You'll receive a confirmation email with your rate that you have to respond to finalize your reservation & you're set. On your travel day, you'll be called by your driver around your reservation time with an ETA for pickup. Their vehicles are minivans and Sprinter vans that can fit your entourage and luggage. Prices are great & can't be beat. It cost us $25 + tip to go to the airport & $35 + tip from the airport to your residence (if live in town). Their drivers are friendly. Booking was easy and the van was very spacious. However, waiting at the airport for over an hour and the driver being unapologetic about it was a bad start to our vacation. We had received a text early in the wait telling us that the driver was 8mins away... yay! But when the driver was nowhere to be seen much later, we called and was told there was bad traffic and was told 20mins more... no worries. Unfortunately, it was more like an hour when the driver finally turned up. If you have impatient kids like we do, I suggest using one of the other onsite services with much more available shuttles immediately available. read more

I was in Honolulu for vacation and had my bicycle with me, so I didn't want to ride in a shared shuttle. I found this company online and chose them since they use Sprinter vans and only take one group at a time. Yes the cost is higher, however you get to your destination quickly without having to see everyone else's hotel. If you are trying to scout out other hotels, then a shared may be for you. Personally, I like the direct route the best. The driver met me at the airport shortly after I called from getting my luggage out of the baggage claim. He was friendly and efficient. He was surprised when I told him I would load my bike into the van. When I told him the cost of the bike he understood. On the way back to the airport the following week, there was an issue with my email, however I called since I didn't see a confirmation and was picked up on time by the same driver. Great service, great price and they quickly get you to the airport! If you need a private shuttle to a from the airport in Honolulu, I highly recommend them. I can always trust my fellow Yelpers for reliable and trustworthy businesses! My boyfriend and I vacationed to Hawaii as a graduation gift to ourselves. A couple days before our flight, I did a quick Yelp search and came across Go808 Express. Booking with them is easy - you don't even need to talk to anyone on the phone! Just send in a request online through their website and they will reply within 24 hours with confirmation. Since they are a popular shuttle service, it is understandable they have to work out times to make sure they can pick you up at your requested time. We got a confirmation email in probably less than 12 hours. Email came with details on where to be picked up, what to look for, and what number to call just in case. All you have to do is confirm that you still want the service. You don't even need to pay beforehand! It was $35 Airport to Waikiki hotel and then $25 from hotel to Airport, plus tip of course. Pick up was great. We landed early so we called and they came around the time our flight was supposed to arrive. Wonderful service! Driver was very nice, gave us some suggestions on what to do, and drove safely. On the way back, we waited outside our hotel at the pick-up time. 5 minutes later, we still didn't see a car so being the worrier I am, I started to panic. Thankfully I called because the person on the phone immediately sent another driver to our location who arrived very promptly. Apparently, the other driver was waiting at another hotel with a similar name. Not his fault, but it did give me some brief anxiety. Not sure what would have happened if I didn't call. Their services are great. They call you a day beforehand to make sure the ride is still on and to give you a reminder. The drivers are all extremely nice and make conversation with you. One of the best perks is that the shuttle is private so even if they come in a huge 15 person shuttle, it'll still be a private ride! I would definitely recommend service from GO808Express. I'd have to admit that the online interface/email interaction to reserve shuttle pickup service was a bit odd as I would typically expect a complete transaction from creating a reservation to payment to be all done online. But, GO808Express' online interface provides you to send an email to their office to request for a quote. Olivia from GO808Express was prompt and replied back with a quote and a request for me to confirm the service. Olivia's email/quote was quite lengthy but had highlights and bold-faced on important items so you can keep notes. I had Rodney for both pickups to and from HNL. Upon arrival, I had already received a text from Rodney as soon as I turned off airplane mode, with accurate instruction (with vehicle license plate) of how to locate the shuttle. I replied back to let him know that we're on our way as soon as we deplane. It seemed that there was a miscommunication from his office regarding my flight info and Rodney ended up waiting for us for 40+ min. But nonetheless, Rodney stuck around to honor the service; and was very courteous and friendly all throughout. Rodney provided a detailed and categorized list of local interests/tips/restaurants and they were very helpful. My family tried several of the restaurants on his list and ended up liking them very much. Highly recommend Jackies's Diner in Pearl City for local food experience (on Rodney's list). On the day of return, Rodney sent me a text ahead of the pickup and I replied to ask for a more minutes delay as we ended up running last-minute shopping. Rodney replied back promptly to let me know that we're provided with a 5-min grace time as he's running a very busy schedule that morning. He noted that he'd wait as long as not to delay the next customer - which is totally understandable. I ended up being able to get to the lobby just in time as Rodney pulled in, which was a few min before the scheduled pickup time. Rodney had a minivan for a pickup from HNL; but had a mini-bus for a pickup back to HNL. My family of 4 was the only customer in both rides. In overall, the service was great, professional, and friendly with Aloha spirit. It was a bit of odd on-line interface for me; and the emails for reserving the service provide lots of information and instructions, so DO Expect to find their emails (may end up in your junk folder) and DO read through them. We actually booked our trip kind of last minute and had contacted 4 shuttle services 2 weeks before our trip and GO808EXPRESS was the only one to reply back to us. Used the shuttle service for an airport to hotel and hotel to airport transfers. The prices were affordable, comparable to other shuttle services. Definitely cheaper then Uber/Lyft. For both transfers, our drivers were right on time and the shuttle/van was clean. Signing up for everything was super easy and anytime I had a question, I got a quick reply back via e-mail. I recently went to Hawaii last week and we needed an affordable ride to and from the airport to the hotel on the day of arrival and departure. G0808 was really responsible and had great communication with us. We even changed the pick up time for the departure date and they followed it well. They were there even before we came out of the airport/hotel. I remember on the day we had our departure flight, a driver named Luke was really friendly and funny. We were all really tired since we woke up at 4AM but Luke was very entertaining and told us alot of facts about Hawaii and even some personal stories. I'm so glad I found Go808 Express on Tripadvisor. We, a party of 5 were planning on using Lyft XL for airport transportation to Waikiki. With a coupon code, my Lyft ride was about $70. I contacted Go808 and they emailed me right away with a quote of only $40. A spacious and clean van was waiting for us when we arrived with plenty of room for our luggage. Booked reservation two days before pickup. MAKE SURE TO CONFIRM YOUR RESERVATION! I confirmed and received a response that the departure trip does not need to be reconfirmed, so one and done! I also, asked to advance my departure pickup time before arriving and it was changed without issue. The day of arrival, my flight was delayed so I called ahead of time letting them know. Olivia was polite and asked for a time I expect to be able to call them about an updated status. I was able to call just in time to confirm the ride and everything else was smooth. Better than perfect service roundtrip from HNL to Westin Moana Surfrider hotel. Large Mercedes Extended High-top van picked us up at the designated location. Driver was pleasant, talked about traffic, sights in Honolulu, etc. Helped us with our luggage. We paid in cash. I'm so glad I chose them, they are awesome people with full of Aloha spirit and provide awesome service!! Service: You reserve them online. Then you get confirmation via email. They show up nearly 20 minutes earlier than you pick up time, so you have enough time to load your stuff. For the airport pick up, they showed up with my name card, and made me feel like I was a VIP! Lol Aloha spirit: They are not just driver, they are also awesome resourceful local guides and entertainers. They tell you and show you good spots to go, eat, whatever you have questions, they have answers for. Instead of surfing online for hours wondering where to go, it's the best bet to ask them those questions and give them good tips makes more sense to save your time. On the way back to the airport, I asked them to swing by Leonard's for the pineapple Masaladas because we had no way to get around to get them. I couldn't leave Oahu without tasting them! Initially, the driver guy, I wish I caught his name, said he couldn't because there were many pick ups at the airport, which was understandable. But he contacted his boss and then said, he could. I totally appreciated what he has done for me. I got some doughnuts for me, and 1 for him, and gave him a tip. That made me day and a sweet memory of Oahu. My family and I had a terrible experience with this company...we made a mistake with the time after we had paid in advance and did our best to make a change 25 hours before the pick up and all we received was a bad attitude and misinformation. I have CC'd my husband on this email, as he had used his Paypal to pay for the airport drop off and was just told we would not receive a refund. Please read below for our detailed experience that took place Monday of this week. 1. We made an honest mistake with our flight time and understand that you have a policy. 2. At 7:30am the day before the pick up date, I emailed you describing the problem that is 25 hours before the pick up time we had requested and paid for. See below in this email chain and note that it's within your cancellation with refund window. 3. No one wrote or called back for hours, which I found odd considering when we booked it, your team had been writing back within 20 minutes. 4. By 3:42pm, I had heard no word, so I called you to see what was going on. A man who didn't identify himself, told me someone could pick us up at 5:30 no problem, but we didn't get a confirmation email or a name for a driver. During this call, no other times were suggested to me and I didn't agree to any other time than 5:30am. 5. My husband was nervous about making sure we had a confirmed ride so he called you again at 7:45pm. He was then informed that you only had a driver for 4:15am or 5:50am - even though we had been told 5:30 would work previously. Neither of those times worked for us or our flight time, so he canceled at that time and was told on the phone that would receive a refund. 6. After all this, it turns out you emailed me at 8:04pm and ask us to cancel by 8pm to receive a refund, which was not possible because it was already passed the time you stated and more importantly, we had already canceled at 7:45pm via the phone and were told we would get a refund. We are confused why the communication was poor with your team considering I had emailed you with a cell phone number to discuss the matter at 7:30am that morning Hawaii time; also overall we were taken aback by your pretty unfriendly tones via email when we'd been trying to resolve the problem all day...based on this experience, it seems that there is a disconnect between the 808 team members via phone and email. We did not feel the aloha spirit and don't feel we should be penalized by not getting a refund when we did our very best to prevent an issue. This shuttle service was excellent. They were extremely on time and the email response from customer service was also excellent. On arrival to Honolulu airport our shuttle driver was waiting at the pickup area. On departure i had confirmed for pickup and the driver arrived at least 15 mins early. We only know this because we went out early. Luke was our driver to the airport and that guy was hilarious. Makes for such an enjoyable ride. He even gave us a bit of history in the name of Hawaii. Needed a shuttle to take 10 of us and luggage from home to the cruise ship pier. Based on reviews I chose Go808 Express. I made the arrangements and they got back to me with a pick up time. It was 15 minutes later than I wanted, but I could work with that. They said they might be able to arrive earlier, and would let us know. On the pick up day, they did arrive early. The driver was very friendly and took us direct to the pier. He pointed out where we would be met if we needed a ride when we returned. Everything went so smooth, that we contacted them for a return pick up once we found out when we could disembark the ship. They were there waiting for us, loaded all of our bags, and delivered us safe and sound back home. The van had plenty of room for all of us and our bags. I don't know if they have smaller vehicles for less passengers, but if you have a large group, I would definitely recommend them. read more

The typical offering of shuttles from airport to hotels in Waikiki are convenient but tend to take a while as there are stops at many hotels on the way to yours. The last thing you want to do after a 6 + hour plane ridge from the mainland is have a lengthy shuttle into town. Go808 Express is a dream, as they pick you up at the baggage claim and whisk you directly to your hotel in a comfortable, air conditioned private shuttle. Called 2 days ahead, as required, to confirm 8:15am (March 18) pick up at 2310 Kuhio for Kuhio Banyan Club. Location was set back off of Kuhio. Tried, in vain, to explain in advance to dispatcher best way to locate us. She said driver would call us just prior to pick up. Driver did call at about 8:10am to say he would come to very small lobby of Kuhio Banyan. (that never happened per Kuhio Banyan) Myself & disabled wife (uses walker) waited from 8am to 8:45am just outside of lobby with our luggage. No one came. Then called GO808Express with no answer. Also unable to reach driver by phone or text. He sent 2 texts indicating that he was there, apparently meaning Kuhio Banyan, & then much later that he was on Nua St. whose location was unknown to me. At about 8:45am we slowly made our way to nearest cross street of Nohonana Ave. where GO808Express had parked van 2 weeks earlier & had then helped us into Kuhio Banyan lobby. My wife & luggage waited there for another very anxious 15 minutes while I went back & forth to Kuhio Banyan lobby seeking help. Eventually they called Taxi for us which arrived about same time GO808Express dispatcher finally called us. We then belatedly took taxi to Airport. read more

There are a bunch of choices for shuttles in Honolulu. I'm so glad we chose Go808. We visited Honolulu for a wedding and it was our first time taking our 2-year-old son on a big vacation. When I was trying to decide on a shuttle service from the airport to our hotel in Waikiki, my son's safety was a priority. After asking around, Go808 was the only service who made having a car seat a priority. Other companies claimed that a car seat wasn't needed due to their commercial license while Go808 mandated it. The additional $10 for a car seat was definitely worth my son's safety. Our driver was Chad who put the cherry on top of the whole experience. He was great. Super personable and just great to talk to as we made our way to our hotel. We felt at home thanks to him. He went above and beyond what we thought a shuttle service should do. We forgot my son's beloved Batman toy in the shuttle and didn't realize it until later that day. I was able to get a hold of Chad and he confirmed that he had it. After going back and forth, I informed the company that he had it and asked how we can get it back. They said they would have our driver return it to us when we get picked up to go to the airport. When the time came to get picked up, Chad ended up being our driver again. He said he switched with the driver who was already assigned to make sure we got my son's Batman toy back. So awesome! Initially I was not pleased with how things played out. We had a flight from Vegas and out arrival time was 630 am Hawaii time. We confirmed our shuttle with the company for myself, my wife, and my 3 year old daughter and received several confirmation emails. We arrived, grabbed our bags and called the company to see where the driver was. There was bad traffic that morning due to several car accidents and we ended up waiting for the shuttle to arrive for awhile. To say it simply, I was pretty pissed. We called the office several times, and while the operator was extremely courteous, we were still left waiting for our ride until 730 am. This is where they turned it around. The owner Rodney personally came down and picked us up. He was very, very apologetic and stated off the bat that he was going to discount our fare. He also didn't charge for the use of their carseat (used theirs to expedite the process so we didn't have to take ours out). The ride was awesome, the van was nice and clean, and Rodney was very personable. He also refused to accept any gratuity. I actually had to insist about 3 or 4 times before he relunctantly accepted. Many people would have just left a negative review based on the late pickup, however I like to give everybody a second chance. Rodney really turned it around with his excellent customer service. Once from the airport to our Waikiki hotel, once from our Waikiki hotel to Aulani and once from Aulani to the airport. This was perhaps the smoothest ride service I've ever taken to/from the airport. As soon as I landed, I immediately received a call from Karina regarding where meet up for the pickup location and better yet, she was already there waiting. Getting out of the airport and to Waikiki was a breeze. We were lucky enough to only have the two of us for the ride. Karina was such an awesome person to ride with, super friendly and fun to talk to. The whole ride felt like you were being picked up by a relative but without the guilt of "you owe me one". We had such a great experience that we decided to also book with them for our ride back to the airport. Of course Karina got us again and she was at the hotel ready to pick us up ten minutes ahead of schedule. The second ride was as enjoyable as the first. We got to the airport within 25 minutes. Drivers were on time, friendly and we had a great experience overall. Would definitely use them

I missed my original flight to Hawaii but got put onto the next flight which was 2 hours later. I contacted 808express to update them about what happened and gave them my new flight number. They gave me no attitude what so ever and told me that it is completely fine. Once I got to Honolulu airport, I got a call from the driver who tried his best to instruct me which door I needed to exit to meet up with him. Getting my checked bag took almost 30 minutes and the driver again was very patient and understanding. He promptly got us to our destination as soon as he could and was very friendly. On our departing day, we were originally scheduled for pickup at 12pm. They called me to confirm but I asked if I could change the pickup time to 11:30am just so I would not miss my flight this time around. Luckily my return flight wasnt United airlines so this wasn't necessary. They were cool about moving up the reservation 30 mins. We took a last stroll through waikiki and got early lunch, then got our last cocktails at a beach bar and sat there enjoying the view. We walked back to the resort and got there at 11:20am and I saw the driver waiting patiently for us. He was very nice and informed us about not being allowed to take fruits and vegetables back to the mainland. Very informative. This service was great and took the hassle of looking for rideshare or taxi as soon as you land. Basically a private limo service who uses vans as their fleet. Highly recommend them for people who vacation. Will use again next year for my friend's wedding. read more
