Located at the edge of Atherton and Redwood City on El Camino Real, don't miss the valet sign!!! It's complimentary valet btw and the guys are SO nice. As for the venue, it's SO classy. I felt like I was walking into a modern version of a 50/60's luxurious jazz music restaurant. It was dark with some minimal mood lighting with a large upstairs area that can be reserved and a downstairs dining area with a bar attached. The atmosphere was a little different from Village Pub as it's also much quieter volume-wise. Our server Andres was amazing and super accommodating with my wife's pregnancy and anticipated her questions by telling her the cheese was pasteurized. Now for the food and drinks: 1) Similar to all the bacchus group restaurants the wine and cocktail list was quite extensive, having all of my favorite French and New World wines. I will say my favorite old fashioned to date is served here with Angel's Envy bourbon. The bartender did the ratios and everything to PERFECTION. 2) As for starters, my wife and I shared the ravioli and we each had the melon consumme and tuna tartare respectively. Both were not exceptionally memorable for our individual apps, but the ravioli was REALLY good. The butter sauce with caviar was balanced with acidity of lemon creating a very savory sauce that we wanted to keep eating. 3) Mains: Both of our stakes cooked to perfection. I had the dry aged ribeye and my wife had the strip. Each was cooked perfectly and the jus added so much flavor and depth to the steaks. The carrot sides were sweet and a great accompaniment to the hearty steaks. By the end of my 14 oz I was stuffed. All of their steaks are absolutely worth paying the extra supplement for. Note each base price per person is $130. But get the steaks. you won't regret it. 4) Lastly dessert. DIVINE. The peach and mascarpone my wife had paired with the olive toast was a heavenly combination. My chocolate cake was rich but not heavy. They even gave us an extra piece to go. But with it, I had the most delicious fresh mint tea. They picked the mint fresh that morning from the farmer's market. My wife and I are SO glad we tried Selby's and kicked ourselves for not going there sooner while she wasn't pregnant.
