For a large scaled pizza place, Godfather has become my favorite and I've only had them twice. The ingredients are packed under a bed of cheese so they dont suffer as much spillage and a mini is enough for a fairly dense lunch. It's a bit dark on the inside and the decor is a lot of mafia pictures. The place also has tvs playing sports and the ability to buy some cheap wine or beer if you are into that. Service was pretty decent. I got some stares from the cook while ordering and leaving my first time around but the most recent trip was pretty normal. They let you accurately know when the pizza will be done but otherwise leave you be. All in all, I'm glad this place is across from the Safeway, making it a nice once in awhile quick lunch after buying groceries. read more

Teenagers who don't care about their jobs and only have a job because mommy said so. There's a couple of adults here but they aren't much better than the teenagers. It's bottom of the barrel people. Adults who can't get a corporate job because they didn't go to school. And can't get a blue collar job because they don't have any grit. This place is way overpriced. After multiple recommendations from locals, I tried Godfather's Pizza, and was left underwhelmed. They seem to have recently downsized their eatery, and there's no more salad bar, or abundant dine-in tables. The two huge TV's playing sports looked appealing, but the lack of restaurant space did not please my dine-in experience. My group ordered 2 medium regular crustpizzas (Veggie, and the chicken artichoke pesto) The customer service gets props because they let me order a pizza from the 'Lite menu' as a regular. However, the order left me asking for more. Although the pies were a good size and the cheese and toppings ratio was respectable, they were lacking sauce and flavor. It's safe to assume that their pizzas have a more home-made vibe, so if you're expecting cheesy and/or saucy pizzas, you'll have to ask for add-ones. Tip: Add spicy honey or dressing of your choice when you reheat your leftovers. They'll taste much better. Will I return? Called in an order the day after Christmas and this location must have been busy as only small and jumbo size pizzas were available. The gentleman on the phone was great as he was asking how he can hope to help due to being out of certain pizza sizes. I got a jumbo pepperoni and jumbo taco pizza. Jumbo has 12 slices. Upon arrival, the kind employer who helped rang me up quickly and took my coupon as well. She was in the kitchen and going back and forth and was attentive each time although it was busy (with people waiting for orders and more online orders coming in). I was also asked if I wanted any pepper+cheese packets which she gave a good handful of both. Jumbo makes for great leftovers and the taco pizza toppings were packed on which we loved! The pepperoni pizza was done and while waiting a minute for the taco pizza I heard her give a compliment to the employee making the pizzas which just added onto the good service and experience. One very small thing to note is that the pizzas weren't cut all the way when we got home to eat. read more

Godfathers Pizza brings back teenhood and college memories, for me personally . I have always loved their lunch buffets and specialty thick crust and hand tossed. I frequently get delivery from this very last godfathers pizza location in Portland area. It is a good pizza but I admit I mainly only get it for the nostalgic and sentimental value which come with it. I don't necessarily get the pizza because I think it is the best around (it's not) but it is definitely the most iconic I know. C'mon Godfather's! What ever happened to the once beloved Pizza of my youth? I grew up eating Godfather's, and I can honestly say it is my all time favorite. Nothing, and I mean nothing can beat the Classic Combo. We'll, maybe a plain cheese. This location has been around for some time and is always hit or miss. I used to frequent this Godfather's quite often, but I drive past it all of the time, and the only thing keeping me from getting some, is the outrageous cost! Buffets have gone up to nearly $10 with a drink, and the last time I was there, it was not a $10 buffet. Pizzas are over $20.00 now. Value deals aren't much of a value, and coupons are meant more for large families. They no longer cater to the everyday pizza schmuck like myself. I just no longer see the value in spending that much for their pizza. Domino's is down the street, and I can get a large carryout, that isn't half bad, for literally $8.00. I'm not sure if the franchises develop their own pricing, or if it is a corporate call, but I sense a little arrogance in the pricing, which could be a downfall. The location is optimal, but the hours are strange. Sometimes you can call and they won't even have any delivery drivers. They'll simply say that aren't delivering. They do have beer on tap and a lot of TV's. I'm not sure why it hasn't been taken to as a local hangout joint. Could be the prices, who knows. I'd also like to point out the complete lack of online presence this location has. It's strange; random Facebook posts to tell you they are at a local apt community, but zero interaction or social presence. Could definitely pick up in that area. I'd like to know about local specials, events, drink specials etc. All in all, the pizza is absolutely fantastic, but I can't justify that kind of money for pizza when it's just me, and this location hasn't promoted any value for what they charge. I saw mixed reviews for this place but we were in the mood for pizza so I decided to give it a try. I didn't quite believe one review that said it took nearly 2 hours for delivery but it happened to us! I ordered at 5:30 pm on a Wednesday, June 14. The estimated time for delivery was 6:30 pm. At 6:50 I decided to call because I was concerned about the kids eating in time for the baths and bedtime. Without any apology or explanation for the delay the person on the phone said it just came out of the oven and would be delivered shortly. It arrived at 7:20. In addition to the long wait, it was not very good and definitely not worth the wait or the cost. The crust didn't seem to be cooked all the way. The flavor just wasn't there. I've seriously had better store bought frozen pizza. Maybe they should change their name from Godfather's Pizza to Grandfather's Pizza. read more

And you sure as hell don't want to go to your favorite pizza joint with its awesome crust/sauce combo and find out the old chef is gone and new fancy pants chef has changed EVERYTHING. Enter Godfather's. One plus of it being a chain, it's going to taste the same EVERYDAY. So when I'm in my will only wear sweatpants-don't mess with me world-I just want to watch a funny movie on my couch and I'm too lazy to make a sandwich kinda mood, their bacon cheeseburger pizza is exactly what I want. Another bonus of them being a chain? I can always find a coupon for this place. This location is especially good about honoring online coupons. Of course it's not terribly healthy but you can choose thin crust and veggie options to lessen the impact. But that's not what I'm going for when I eat here. Give me the bacon damnit! Some of the locations do gluten-free crust, but this isn't one of them. On the plus side, they have great service. On our last visit they didn't have the size we wanted so they gave us two pizzas of the next smaller size instead. I choose to stuff myself in peace, so I always get my pizza to go, but it looks like they have lots of seating in the dining room and it's a good place for groups and kids. My husband and I have a thing for pizza buffets. Don't ask me why. We usually go to Round Table, but opted for this Godfather's because it was close to his jobsite that day. I was not impressed with their pizza as it seemed to have more crust and cheese than anything else. They should add more toppings so at least we can fool ourselves into thinking we are eating some protein and vegetables. They do offer a gluten-free pizza which we did not try since we had the buffet, but I might be interested in giving that a whirl one of these days. The BEST part of this meal was the salad bar and the amazing soda dispenser. The selection at the salad bar was unique enough that it had my husband going back for seconds (which never happens!). There were salad dressing choices I have never seen at any other buffet-style restaurant. They also have one of those new space-age looking soda dispensers that offers a gazillion choices with different flavors and everything. Honestly, this place is disgusting. It was a stupid idea to come here hungover; the food made us even more nauseous, and we left feeling crappier than we did when we came in. I think we came in here on a Saturday afternoon, maybe around 2:00pm. The store was empty, and there was ample seating, but it was nearly impossible to find a place to sit that was clean. The service was also stupidly slow. It took 10 minutes just for the worker to put our food into the computer. I understand that she was new, and don't entirely blame her for this. Good, swift employees are usually trained by a good manager. We waited 30 minutes from the time we placed our order to get out food. For an empty restaurant, this just isn't acceptable. We each ordered a calzone, which any pizza place should know how to make properly. We each had about two bites before deciding we couldn't eat anymore - the sauce was horrible, nearly inedible. We pretty much called it a loss at that point. I won't be back. This was the first pizza place we tried after coming here from Chicago, and it reaped disappointment and painted a horrible picture of pizza in the Portland area. read more

For those of you who had negative comments about this place don't mix gourmet pizza with other genres of pizza for the basic "pie". I do not think words could do justice to the service...so, starting with the food: We had 2 large pizzas, one with golden crust and one with thin & crispy, garlic bread and the cookie desert. All excellent. Not much more to say, a great pizza meal, just as you would wish. Beyond that and what makes a lifetime customer is the service...there was initially a problem with the order and suffice to say, it was taken care of with the most overt display of customer service and care that I have ever ever experienced from any company (food services or otherwise) in my life. Period. It is easy to feel good about a company when things go smoothly, but the true character is shown in how one handles things when something goes wrong and I can say without reservation that Pat and the team at Tigard, OR Godfathers have limitless character and care for their customers, which is particularly appreciated in a marketplace where this art feels all but lost.
