12/18/2021: So I needed my Macbook Air battery replaced. Apple listed them as an authorized repair center. I was told by a blonde guy who works there that it'll take a 5-7 days and will cost $400-$500 to replace the battery because, "We'd have to replace the keyboard and body." 12/21/2021: Apple sent me a box to ship it to them directly. Laptop arrived less than a day later for them to fix. 12/23/2021: Got my laptop back good as new. Cost me $161 total. Moral: Avoid GoEBITS. Go directly to the manufacturer. read more

They took a week just for diagnostics and charged me $85 for that diagnostics fee then tried to charge me an extra $150 for a new charger. I bought one off Amazon for $70 that works fine. I called apple because I had a swollen mac pro battery I needed recycled and they set up an appointment for me here. When I arrived, I was told they do not handle swollen batteries unless my computer "gets serviced". They said they couldn't "just take any battery off the street". I asked if I could pay for the service of taking out my battery and recycling it, and they said no. Total waste of time. Would not recommend coming here. read more

I really appreciate this business, and its employees! Both of my experiences have been positive. Not only are they pros at what they do, their shop is run very efficiently. They tend to over deliver, and early. They communicate well, and ensure you understand all aspects of their service, and all. Recently, I needed to replace my cracked laptop screen. They had estimated 2-3 weeks (which is half that of an apple store). They had it back in less then ONE week. As a small biz owner, this is huge! And, their prices are fair. Most def need to write a great review for these folks. Brought in a desktop with an internal data drive whose SATA plastic covering had snapped off. Asked if it was something they could help with. Gave me great advice: they can't, would be expensive with someone who could, way better off buying a new one (no vital info lost!). I gave them an extra star as they probably do a good job on actual repairs but I have a complaint. I went in to get a laptop battery replaced as Apple did not have any appointments. They quoted me $200 plus labor (about $400 total). I told them Apple replaced them for $200 + tax and they said they charge labor too. Thinking I would fall for it and just settle to have it replaced there, I waited an extra week to get it quoted at Apple. Sure enough, they only charged me $220 total so I had it done there. GoEbits is conveniently close but will only be a last resort for me. All they had to do is not lie. read more

I had my IPhone 7 screen replaced once- no issue. Then after a second break, I showed up when they open at 10:00 am, and waited 20 minutes for someone to open the store- no brief apology. Then they called the technician and told me he wasn't coming in that day. I called ahead the next time and they said they didn't have the parts and to call again next week. I did, they still didn't have parts and didn't know when they would arrive. The place I did replace the screen the second time said there were brackets missing and stripped screws. So on top of the poor customer service, they did a sloppy fix. Boo. read more

What they fixed: Macbook Pro 2017 touch bar edition Problem: randomly failing and complaining about touch bar, and crack in screen Outcome: GoEBITS was able to get me a new screen/keyboard touchbar for free (using mac replacement program) and only had to charge for the logic board replacement so basically a new screen. Above and beyond: I didn't even ask for screen to be fixed they took initiative to figure out if it could be covered by apple in a recall which saved me $500+ and got my machine better than expected. Ask for Brian he is the best and will really go above and beyond to make your experience a good one. For reason that I am not giving 5 stars: The initial technician back and forth was confusing and I was originally lead to believe for them to fix anything at all it was all or nothing, ie the screen would have to be replaced and everything would have to be fixed or nothing could be fixed, which would be ~$1400 (my computer cost $1600 new). After talking with a different employee (Brian) he was able to understand where I was coming from, fix all my issues and keep my cost down to the cost of only one component because he could replace the keyboard and screen using an apple replacement program. read more

This business is extremely poorly run. I dropped off my phone for a screen repair. Apparently during the diagnostics they found that my battery was also having issues. So they waited until I got back (at the time it was supposed to be finished)... and they hadn't touched either one. Supposedly they needed my approval to fix the battery too, even though it is both free and required by Apple. (Why would I not want this done!?) So they basically wasted my entire day, and when I got there, didn't even offer to expedite the repair. If they're going to hold onto your phone (when there is no other way to get in touch with you), they need to run the diagnostics before you leave. And if something happens and it's not fixed by the time you're back, they need to offer to expedite the repair. Neither was done and they wasted my half my day during a time that I'm already working more than 80/hours a week (it was a big deal for me to be offline this long to start with.) And by the way, they offered to hold my phone until they could fix it TWO DAYS LATER or asked me to come back again when I live 40 minutes from the store. The person checking me in was nice, but had no idea what he was doing and did not bother pushing his team to provide a better customer experience. My experience here was just plain bizarre. From the outside it looks like a store that went out of business. Not much better from the inside. Guy who checked me in was friendly enough. I was told the initial diagnostic test could take up to five days. On day six I decided to call just to check in. I called three times during business hours and no one answered the phone. I left a long message after the third call and didn't get a response until two business days later. When the diagnostic tests were completed I called in to see what the results were and again no one answered. I had to call at least five times. In the end I ended up spending about 140 dollars to have them factory reset my computer...something I could have done on my own. I gave three stars because my computer is back to normal working order...but I don't think I would recommend them to my friends. read more

Last week I was seeking a repair for my phone's camera. Scheduling with GoEBITS had to be done ONLY through Apple Support, which was an extra and long step. I couldn't just get a reservation at a specific location. I took my phone in and they said that I would have to leave it overnight, but that they would have to order the part they needed. They said I would need to leave my phone with them for as long as it took to get the part which could be anywhere from days to weeks and they wouldn't know until they knew. I took my business elsewhere. While I understand that right now things are tough to predict during COVID, scheduling was an unnecessary hassle, and I also think that they could have let me pay for the part/order it without me having to leave my phone if it was a matter of days or weeks (versus just overnight). I wish they had better customer communication because getting an appointment and receiving this information took up way too much time. read more

Very thankful for the laptop repair, but I do think communication could be improved. I brought my laptop in for issues of water damage. At check-in, some overextension of my computer's righthand hinge was noted. This made a lot of sense to me since I'd noticed a purple mark on my laptop screen right around that same area. I agreed to noting the overextension, as well as some other small dings. Upon picking up the laptop, I saw a small chunk of screen missing, near the hinge. The guy at the desk re-read his damage notes we'd made at check-in, which included the overextension and physical damage on the screen. Now, I thought I was just agreeing to overextension. I didn't realize it was bad enough that there were actually cracks in the screen. I'm pretty sure GoEBITS didn't cause the cracks, since I saw other signs of damage in the area beforehand, and since they had it noted in their system. But I didn't personally know the cracks were there when I left their store, or maybe I misunderstood what overextension meant in this context. So in the future, I think it'd be a good idea for damage notes to be read back verbatim, just to avoid any misunderstandings. I was told that their deep clean of the laptop could've made the cracks more obvious, which I can understand. I also understand if an already-broken piece was lifted during the repairs or cleaning process. I suspect that may have happened, since the missing chunk immediately caught my eye when I got my laptop back. But if that happened, they should at least say something. My bill was also a bit higher than I thought it was going to be when I arrived, because of a miscommunication regarding their diagnostic costs being subtracted from the repair cost. I'd already paid their $80-something diagnostic cost. When I was called with the diagnosis, I was given two different dollar amounts. I thought the higher dollar amount was the cost of the repair, prior to them subtracting the diagnostic fees, and the lower dollar amount was the cost I'd actually pay. Turns out the lower dollar amount was pre-tax and the higher was with tax, but that wasn't clear to me at the time. I'm ultimately fine with the service because my laptop is working again, but I think the staff needs to take it one step further to effectively communicate with customers. read more

After my daughter accidentally closed her MacBook Pro laptop on top of her ring and cracking the screen, you can imagine her utter dismay. As a busy student who uses her laptop throughout the day, we needed a repair as soon as possible. It was right before Christmas, and the earliest and closest appointment with an Apple authorized repair shop was in Seattle, at GoEbits, a 3 hour drive away. We drove through what seemed like a torrential rain to get there, but were welcomed as soon as we walked in. They diagnosed and estimated the cost for the repair which amounted to replacing the entire display assembly and soon sent her laptop back overnight via UPS in a carefully packaged insured box. About 3 weeks after getting her laptop back, to her deep dismay, the display began showing signs that something was wrong and was getting worse. I phoned the shop which was answered by their manager Colby, who not only answered all of my detailed questions and concerns, but also took it upon himself to make it's repair a priority and to ensure that his lead technician was looped in. Although rare, he explained, it wasn't unheard of that a brand new Apple display might be defective, and if the diagnostics showed it to be the case, they would replace it and pay for overnight insured shipping to get it back to us as soon as possible. My daughter drove up the next morning to Seattle. They immediately ran a diagnostic test finding the display to be defective assuring her there would be no charge for the repair and return overnight shipping. In every conversation with their careful and conscientious team, from Sam answering the phone to manager Colby, I was thoroughly grateful for their kindness, sense of humor and wonderful service! This company is the gold standard for customer service in every regard. Not only do I highly recommend supporting this small business, I will drive the 3 hours to have all of my repairs serviced by them in the future and will recommend them to family and friends. Truly a wonderful example of goodwill and just what we all need in these trying times, to be treated with kindness, respect and given top drawer service! read more

These guys at GoEBITS have a nice front desk and matching shirts with a spiffy logo, but they sure aren't what I'd call listeners. My laptop worked perfectly, except for a spider crack in the screen, which I wanted replaced. In the interest of comparison shopping, I made an appointment for an estimate and once in their shop, the GoEBITS guys told me they couldn't provide one without running a $45 diagnostic. It didn't matter that I was certain that my computer was working fine, they insisted on their special $45 diagnostic, and acted like I was dumb for not understanding why it was necessary. I asked for a ballpark estimate based on what they could see, and was told it "could be expensive." OK, what's the scale for that? Like, $80 or $800 or...? They couldn't even give me a rough estimate. I left their shop feeling like I'd been talked down to, and like I'd narrowly avoided being scammed. There are better, more straightforward repair shops in the area that won't treat you like you don't know what you're talking about. Go to one of those shops first (I did, and got my screen replaced affordably, and without any kind of goofy diagnostic). read more

Avoid! What a pathetically run business. After making an advanced appointment to repair my phone at 4pm and arriving on time, I was told the only person who can run a diagnostic test leaves at 2pm each day! The employee then said I had two options: 1) come back in the morning; 2) leave my phone overnight. Why then would they allow customers to make appointments after that time, OR WORSE, not contacting them to inform them their business is a joke. After expressing frustration for making the appointment in advance, the manager emerges from the back after hearing I intended to share the experience with Apple and aggressively states: "Seriously!?" I had a great experience having my Late 2013 iMac repaired so I could trade it in for an upgrade. They were quick to diagnose the problem and get back to. I would say they tried to push the more expensive repair but I stood my ground and explained that I planned to trade my iMac in and just wanted it functional for the trade in (hard disk was locked so could not reload Mac OS X). Eventually they understood and I felt I got a good deal and very service to get it back in working condition. My iMac passed the trade-in inspection and I am very happy with the outcome. I would definitely go back for future services at GoEBITS (if my Macs ever need it, which they rarely do). read more

These people are not honest. Very bad customer experience. They wanted to charge me 250$ for "data recovery" after they kept the hard drive for diagnostic for 1 week. Eventually the only broken thing was the connector. I got my hard drive back and went around the corner to Computer Love and he just sold me a new flat docking station for only 25$! 1/10th of the price and he fixed it in literally 3 minutes. read more

I came here with my laptop when it died. I wasn't sure what was wrong with it so I decided to go to the experts. The initial diagnostic fee is $50, pretty normal and fair price. I dropped it off on a Sunday and got a call back to pick it up that following Sunday. I was told it takes 3-4 days to diagnose but it took a week. It took so long because they said they had to take it apart which took longer than expected. (more on this, keep reading) They figured out the problem and were very helpful. I was told that it was the power supply that died. It was advertised that the $50 i used for the diagnostic will go towards whatever it was that needed to be fixed. I still had to fork out some money for the new power adapter because i was told that that $50 doesn't go towards parts. That's fine, it makes sense but I wish they had told me that before the fact and not after. I was also informed that the CPU needed new arctic silver glue to keep the laptop from overheating, and that my laptop needed to be cleaned. They wanted to charge $180 to do this and the $50 from the diagnostic can be applied for this service. Even so, i opted not to pay an additional $130 seeing that i'm pretty crafty and like DIY projects. I had a buddy help me take apart my laptop to reapply new arctic silver glue and clean my laptop. To our surprise it didn't even look like they took apart the laptop. All the manufacturing tape was still in place inside the laptop. We looked at the CPU and the arctic silver glue that was already there looked fine. It was not dry and the laptop itself was not that dirty. This makes me think, were they trying to con me for my money? I don't like to be quick to assume things but from the looks of things those services they suggested i pay for was not necessarily required... Overall i was happy with the friendliness and customer service. I was not happy that they tried to upsell me on something that i didn't need. If it was anyone else that wasn't tech savvy they would have probably got conned into paying more than they needed to. There are many PC/Laptop repair shops out there. I'm happy with the service I received. My iMac had a bad hard drive & was insanely slow, it was slow the moment I bought it new. After tolerating it for way too long, I finally decided to either fix it or get a new computer. The iMac I have is known to have bad hard drives. Pros: Friendly intelligent people, other than jasper Cons: After not hearing about my replacement screen for weeks, I discovered they had lied about the part coming in in a week...bevause it is cheaper to order from China, which they quietly did. Drop it off when it arrives a month later. They open the part , it is cracked. Jasper gets the new one in ( to his credit the more expensive OEM) and seems more interested in getting my China screen back so he can get his refund back from China. It is 2 months in. I have to fly out this evening and he had to be convinced to bring in a tech to this location to do the repair....as there was no tech at a computer repair shop! He tried to bail and give a refund, which is the most problematic because it results in emotional labor or having to find a new vendor. He eventually had the tech come in . You had one job! two stars instead of three because this is a tech capital. read more

I had a very disappointing experience with ebits. This was my second time I went to get my phone fixed. They did a great job first time on Nexus 4. First day - But this time I went to get charging port of Iphone 5S fixed. They fixed the charging port and as soon as I got out of their Cap Hill location I realized that the fingerprint scanner on home button wasn't working. I went back and the guy was defending himself saying charging port has nothing to with scanner. I told him it was working fine before I gave them for repairs and now its not working. He asked me to come the next day. Second day - I went back the next to same location and there was a different person. I told him the whole story and he tells me that fingerprint scanner often stops working when repairs are made which is completely different statement than what I was told by the original person. Then he told me that I should go to their Udistrict location as the IPhone expert works on that location. Third day - So I went to their Udistrict location and the so called expert is the same guy who worked on it originally in their Cap hill location. He does the same rant again saying charging port has nothing to do with scanner. Then he said he'll call his manager. Apparently manager said they can check it but if there are any additional parts needed I have to pay for it. I told him to at least check it and tell me what is the issue. I came back after an hour and this guy has no clue. I left extremely frustrated. Fourth day - I usually keep my phone on Silent mode. Today I turned off the silent mode and realize that no sound is coming from speakers and audio jack is also screwed up. Moral of the story - they fixed my charging port and screwed up finger print scanner, speakers and audio jack and didn't even show the courtesy of owning their mistake and compensating me (or at least returning me what they charged me). Now I am left a dead brick phone and I think going back is useless. Super frustrated with their behavior and service. read more

Excellent experience! I went in after battling with the problem for days. I had bought tools and equipment during the struggle but I gave in and was prepared to pay for their data recovery service. I really wish I knew his name, but after checking out the drive and seeing what equipment I had he told me I had everything I needed and pointed out what I needed to change. I am a regional manager for an electronics company that supplies products to companies like ebits. In fact I was staring at one of my products while this company performed the old switcheroo on me. Frankly, I'm still a little shocked this occurred in a post yelp world. So, dutifully, I will recount for the unwary. I was under a tight timeline ahead of travel to the East Coast so decided to use a local shop instead of my internal tech department or a reseller which can pose a conflict. After paying for expedited service they were unable to recover windows which had crashed due to my own misuse, which was fine. In person and on the phone it was explained that the diagnostic fee can be used for services such as data transfer or repair. I was guaranteed that I would clear the data transfer scenario with an additional $50 charge, not the $99 dollars that showed up at billing. When I began to mention this the clerk he mentioned that they are not so great at explaining data transfer isn't included in diagnosis bill back. -A direct contradiction to what was explained to me twice, down to the figure. As someone who works with technology businesses and sales people for a living, I know the difference between being confused, being unsure, and deliberately misleading a client. Unfortunately my interaction with Ebits falls into the latter. Avoid at all costs! read more
