I m giving Goetz brother s a 5. I wanted to have shirts made for my daughter Sweet 16. I had gone to another place which quoted me $150.00 but then my friend said why you paying so much go to Goetz brother and so much cheaper. When I got there I had awesome efficient service. I haven't gotten the shirts back yet but I'm sure they ll look fabulous. I have seen some of there work already on family and team shirts so I'm excited to see how these shirts turn out. read more

This store has been a RWC institution for decades. Many, many years ago, they used to rent school musical instruments, but that was discontinued. I love that it is family owned and operated. They support local youth sports teams. This is our go-to store for our son's little league gear and our daughter's softball gear. Sure, I can go to Big-5 or Sports Authority and get some items for less, but really not much less, and the service and information you receive when shopping at Goetz is well worth it. For example, at the end of the baseball season, my son wanted a new bat for camp over the summer and for fall ball and beyond. I was okay with this, so we set out for Goetz hoping to find his new ComBat 3, which is what he coveted. We ended up having not one, but two people personally working with us to find the right length/weight ratio for my son. They actually took him outside with a few bats and had him swing for them, so they could study his swing and give us a recommendation. We happened to have his old bat in the car, so we pulled that one out so they could see him swing with that one as well. They didn't have the right size/weight in stock, but said they could order it. Of course, my son wanted instant gratifcation, and was willing to go with a bat that was just a little off, but they were so good with him, and really explained to him why it would be better to wait for the right one. (I might have ended up letting him convince me if it weren't for them.) I was very impressed with the time they took with us, and the personal service. You absolutely won't get that anywhere else! Hey, this place is great if you have kids in team sports! My daughter just got bitten by the softball bug and thus we have been buying all kinds of softball stuff . They are the most helpful people I have ever experienced in a sporting goods store. I was clueless as to how to fit my daughter with a softball bat but they were more then willing to help. My son also needed little league baseball stuff and we have been back three times since. Every time it has been a great experience! Definitely, check them out! read more

They don't carry any hockey equipment of any kind, which is kind of a bummer, since that happens to be what both my husband and I play. But I did get knee socks and a mouthguard here (and I have to go back for a new one) as well as shin guards. The staff is helpful, and it's a good location--hours are pretty limited, though. read more

This family-owned and operated local business is really a gem! The staff are universally helpful, they follow-up on orders and inquiries, and they have a good inventory and network of vendors for team gear and uniforms. We came for new cleats two years ago-- and have now ordered team training jerseys, as well as picked up many soccer related goods since then. Goetz is EASY to work with, and they get the job done (unlike some other local shops....Soccer Pro in particular, which is chaos all the time). Our lacrosse organization has had numerous positive experiences working with Brent. We ordered customized equipment bags for three of our teams. The quality of the stitching was excellent. They were able to keep everything straight- even with multiple people picking up orders. When we had questions about pricing, Brent gave us the best deal. And when it was discovered that we hadn't picked up everyone's order, Brent shipped the stragglers for free. These folks are here to serve! I can't recommend them highly enough. read more

This place has a lot of history with our family from when my brother and I played baseball. Even to this day, we still buy our baseball gloves and balls from them. Their service is impeccable and always friendly and helpful. Their new location in San Carlos is nicer than the older location in Redwood City which was difficult for parking. read more

Been going to Goetz Bros for years. Will admit I kind of miss their old site because it had character, but the new site has much better parking. Selection is the best around. Prices are OK. Key point is this is an old-school sports store. The kind of store that lets you demo bats at home for free. The kind of store that carries the eclectic gear by brands that box-stores wont. This is the place you go to if you are looking for a real professional level batting tee, not some Skilz cookie cutter replica. It's also a great place for team gear. I brought my Belgian nephew and his friends to Goetz Bros. to find a couple of baseball mitts. My mitt says Hank Aaron 715, so obviously it has been a VERY long time since I've purchased one. Justin saw that we were overwhelmed by all the choices and came over immediately with a lot of knowledgeable guidance. My nephew got the perfect mitts for him and my brother and is now looking forward to lots of games of catch with his dad. read more

Great store if you are trying to outfit a high school team with gear/uniforms. If you are looking for a running shoe or a box of golf balls, this is not the store for you. I received a gift certificate from this store and had a hard time finding a way to spend it. They had about 3 choices of running shoes (and were out of my size in the first choice). They had no golf-related items whatsoever. The workout clothing was minimal (under-armor or PE-looking shorts). The next time I need lacrosse gear or a football helmet, this will be my first stop -- otherwise I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

Whether your order is large or small, you always get great customer service, quick turnaround, and a terrific price. You'll find a ton of stuff here that the major sporting goods stores don't carry. It's a fun little shop if you're into sporting equipment, but be prepared because there's a lot of stuff here so you'll have to rifle through things. I like the basketball selection... they have everything from cheap balls to NBA quality. They recently moved after being in downtown San Carlos for like 75 years. One of the best places to go as a serious sports fan or athlete. They have everything you would want/need (especially for baseball). Lots of the stuff they carry is of the highest quality and their staff is also great. I'd say their best attribute of all is their baseball gloves. It is hard to find a quality glove at most sporting goods stores, but Goetz has every size, quality type and brand you could imagine. The customer service here really varies. My son and I have been helped by some very patient, knowledgeable guys however, the older woman who works here is unbelievably RUDE! On more than one occasion I have been forced to ask her for help, and we have ended up leaving the store wondering how she continues to work at Goetz Bros. Most recently we were driving by and my son asked if we could stop to get new baseball cleats. I was skeptical since it was such a hot day and we had our dog with us. I told my son we would just check with the employees and see if they minded if our dog joined us for the shopping trip. Now we're not the family that takes our dog with us everywhere, and I try to be VERY sensitive to the fact that some people have allergies, or just don't like dogs. As we approached the front door my son pointed out that there wasn't a sign that said "no pets". So, we entered the store and asked one of the first guys we saw if it would be okay if our 20 lb. dog came in with us since it was such a hot day and we didn't want to leave him in the car. He was very nice and said he understood, and that it wasn't a problem at all. My son started checking out the cleats with a very helpful guy assisting him. I was just hanging out waiting for my son to make a decision, the older woman approached me. She asked about the dog. I said we had checked with the first employee we saw and he said it was fine. She seemed annoyed so I told her this was a one time event. She said, "When it's this hot out, I leave my dog at home." I said, Well, we weren't planning on stopping." She said, "Since you have your dog you shouldn't have". I could not believe she said that to me!!! It's not like this is a new, super clean store! I will only go to Goetz Bros in the future as a last resort. I will NEVER let this rude woman help me again! read more
