They had that rich, garlicky, buttery goodness without being overwhelming. You can really tell they put care into their food. The rest of the meal was just as impressive, and the service was friendly and welcoming. The staff were very friendly, and while the music was a bit loud and the decor is fairly minimal, everything was clean and well maintained. The food is made to order and clearly prepared with quality ingredients. The lumpia were excellent. I ordered them without the ranch seasoning because I find it very salty, and I'm not a fan of the accompanying dip for the same reason. Honestly, they're good enough on their own. The Cajun Parmesan wings were cooked perfectly, but I didn't get much Cajun flavor from them. I'd probably try a different wing flavor next time. The fries were great, and the ranch was even better. The Mongolian beef was another standout. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender, and flavorful. There were plenty of onions, which I loved. It was a little heavy on the sauce, but still very enjoyable. Prices are a bit higher than average, but the quality justifies the cost. It's a locally owned business that's definitely worth checking out and, in my opinion, much better than most restaurants in Salinas.

The prices were right in line with what you'd expect for a hibachi restaurant, so we felt we got great value for the money. I also appreciated that they serve drinks in large soda cups--a small touch, but one I really liked. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely polite from start to finish. Our hibachi chef was funny, engaging, and did a great job with both the cooking and the entertainment. He made our anniversary dinner even more enjoyable. The only thing that surprised me was how empty the restaurant was. After our experience, I honestly think they deserve more business. If you're looking for good hibachi in Salinas with generous portions, solid prices, and excellent service, I'd definitely recommend giving Fujiyama a try. We'll absolutely be back!

But, just the teriyaki chicken with rice in a junior bowl was enough to fulfill my lunch slump hunger! I didn't even need the extra sauce it comes with! Ooh! a tip on adding veggies though that I think would be amazing IF they had shredded lettuce as a veggie side since it would soak up that yummy teriyaki sauce! Teriyaki madness, ya feel me on that? Lol not sure if that's already a thing here~ Definitely go here for that quick, eatery vibe! they have some other proteins like salmon, tofu, steak.. yup definitely coming here for that protein fix- and if i'm feeling wild.. maaaybe adding veggies next time hehe.

Maybe I missed it but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've seen it. They don't always have it so ask your waitress if they do before ordering. It is such a delicious rich and savory dish. It's filled with eggs, green onions, sometimes bacon, flour, cornstarch, corn, Dashie powder, reconstituted, and cabbage all mixed together into a thick batter that becomes a thick pancake. Browned on both side sides. It's served with two or three different sauces cutie mayonnaise, OKONOMIYAKI sauce, a sweet teriyaki thick sauce and topped with Bonita flakes. One pan cake is enough to serve two or three people as an appetizer. It's a treat. $8 Their Agedashi is excellent! I order this at every Japanese restaurant that I go to that has it on the menu. It is one of my very favorites. Here they have nice bite-size squares of firm tofu dipped in cornstarch and deep fried quickly just enough to make them piping hot and super crispy on the outside then served in a Dashie sauce topped with green onions and Bonita flakes. Because the tofu is so hot the Bonita flakes start to wave around and it's always been fascinating to watch this as we enjoy the dish itself. It's also a good dish to take to go because it's easy to reheat at home. $8.25. The crispy and crunchy combo tempura as an appetizer for $10 is also delicious in its simplicity and perfection. The Avo Mango Roll $ 9.95 has avocado, mango, nuts. It's light fruity and savory at the same time and the nuts are macadamia nuts, which add a really nice crunch to it. They have pages and pages of different sushi, sashimi and rolls. Some are simple some are very complex. It really depends on what your taste and what flavors you're looking for. Everything we've tried on several visits there have been fresh and outstanding. Their bento boxes $17-25 ($10 for kids bento) are huge. With miso soup salad rice your protein of choice ( the Katsu pork is outstanding and really holds up well to reheating at home). You also get tempura and a couple of pieces of roll with your bento box. My favorite however for just how beautiful it looks, and how light and delicious it is, is the Futo Maki $11.25 tamago, avocado, cucumber, gobo, shiitake, kampyo, oshinko. When you look at the role itself, it's beautifully organized inside, very artistically arranged, and appealing to the eye. The first bite into it gives you a little bit of each ingredient and together they make for a very good imaginary trip to Japan. My only complaint about this restaurant is that it is so consistently good whether we eat in or have it delivered by DoorDash that we totally over order and end up with so much food! Lol. We always get a side serving of a large hot saki and a large Sapporo beer to wash it all down with. Add a wakame salad and we are good $5.50. Service is excellent and attentive. The place is very busy, but usually you're able to get a table fairly easily. Our tab is usually about $100 plus tip because we order so much!

I loved it so much I came back a second time before heading home that trip AND came back a third time this year with my extended family cus I knew it would hit the spot. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any drink. You can customize the sweetness level and pick from a variety of flavors. I did the giant lemonade for the aunties in the car and it was GIANT lol, it was enough for all 3 of them and my daughter to share. I was honestly surprised to read a few negative reviews because WHAT? The first time I ordered some egg rolls I mentioned to the staff that I think it might have been a bad batch because my daughter and I thought it tasted spoiled maybe? And she immediately addressed the situation and apologized and was truly worried. She told me I got you, the next time I come back but I told her I was from the Bay and she mentioned they moved from the 209. She also ensured us that they make it fresh in house and surprised me and gave me a FRESH new order even though I initially declined. This is a family owned business and they let me feel like family too. I tried the pandan cake on my second trip on the way home and ughhh sooo good. I wasn't gonna do it but I heard another customer come in saying she comes in just for that and I knew I had to try it. It has the perfect sweetness, a little dense but still soft and fluffy. The icing wasn't overly sweet. I'd take a whole cake for my birthday lol. I think I also read another review talking about the donuts being raw? Parking can be difficult as they are located in downtown Carmel. Came in a bit early to try to be seated earlier but they were fully booked so we waited for our designated reservation time. They always serve you with complimentary bread service of focaccia in garlic infused olive oil & balsamic vinegar. We had grilled calamari and crispy garlic fries for starters. Our main dishes were Seafood pasta, Gyros Platter, Prawn Pasta, Osso Buco and Steak of the Day - 16 oz sirloin in peppercorn sauce. Dessert was cookie butter banana pie and complimentary baklava. Tree House cafe is a cozy rooftop restaurant with shaded outdoor seating as well as indoor seating located in the heart of Carmel. They're a mixture of Mediterranean, Greek and Thai flavors. The first thing they brought out was bread with olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette and, no joke, that ended up being my favorite bite of the meal. I was still thinking about the bread while eating everything else, which probably says more than I intended. The clam chowder was good and comforting, but if you've had chowder in Monterey, you know the bar is pretty high. The calamari was the bigger disappointment. It was chewy instead of tender and didn't have that light, crispy crunch that makes calamari worth ordering in the first place. By the time we finished the chowder and calamari we were full, but we still looked through the menu to see if anything tempted us. Honestly, nothing really stood out. The pasta prices felt steep, and there wasn't a dish that made us say, "Okay, we have to come back and try that." The only thing that really took away from the experience was how close the tables were. I could hear the people next to us whispering and accidentally became invested in a conversation I was never invited to. Overall, it's a cute place with great service and a nice ambiance that's worth checking out if you're visiting Carmel. I don't regret going, but I also don't see myself going back. On the bright side, at least the bread gave me something to remember. Someone in that kitchen deserves a raise for that basket alone.

10/10 must sit on the patio during sunset!…read more It was absolutely beautiful and an irreplaceable once in a lifetime experience. There's a nice outdoor bar area where you can get drinks and appetizers while waiting for your seat. Slow cooked pork belly : 20/10 must try! The crispy outside texture was perfect and the charcoal taste complemented the pork belly fat really well. Szechuan pork ribs: 7/10 Not bad, but the Szechuan flavor lacked and it tasted more like Sriracha. Half butterfish and half ahi tuna dish: 8/10 the sauces were PHENOMENAL!! I'm going to need to get their recipe for their fragrant herbaceous green sauce and the coconutty umami white sauce. The butterfish had a bit of lingering fishiness but the texture was nice with a carmelized crust and soft insides. The ahi tuna was to be expected. Watch out for the spicy wasabi brown sauce! Dark chocolate raspberry molten lava cake: 8/10 I love lava cakes and they gave us an extra cup of dark chocolate to pour on top. I wish the raspberry flavor tasted more natural though. Service: 100/10 everyone was fantastic and our server was incredibly hospitable and nice.

On multiple occasions, we had to ask the busboy to send our waiter over because we were either out of soda, to take our appetizer order, or to find out where our drinks were at once we placed the order. When asking how much longer for our drinks, we were told by our waiter 'I put the order in. It should probably be ready now.' He was not friendly and was not what I expected at all of a Pebble Beach restaurant. We come somewhat often as we only live 30 minutes down the road so this visit definitely fell short. With our tip already being included in the final price, I feel as though the effort from our waiter was as if his service to our table didn't really matter as he was getting his tip either way. The restaurant was not very busy either so it just seemed like a lack of effort. I would like to recognize the busboy as he was extremely attentive and always made sure to clear our table timely. I feel as though he would make a better waiter than the individual we had. The food was subpar for a restaurant of this caliber. My bento box with butterfish came out cold. My mom & sister-in-law ordered the bento box with salmon and both mentioned how there was a lack of flavor. Overall, I think I would go to Sticks at Pebble Beach instead as we have always had great service there.
