I was met with silence, followed by a sharp response: "We put them away for the day." I tried to keep things light by saying, "Okay, well, hi--how is everyone?" but received only a curt "We're good." I waited in line quietly until a young lady assisted us. My daughter, overhearing, asked about the puppies, and I explained there was usually a Great Dane and another dog. That's when a male employee interjected harshly: "I had to put the Great Dane down--you should be careful with what you promise." I was stunned, both by the rudeness and the sad news. The female owner then clarified that the dog had MS and could no longer walk, which explained the decision. I truly apologize for unintentionally reopening that wound; I had no idea, given the time since my last visit. A lot can change in two years, and I understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. That said, the tone and delivery were unnecessarily aggressive and off-putting. I simply wanted my daughters to share in the positive, dog-friendly experience that first drew me here for my business shipments. Unfortunately, the vibe now feels cold and unwelcoming--the energy is gone, and without that unique niche, there's little reason to return.
