I got the brisket. Really good price, something like 32 bucks for a lbs. brisket was perfect, incredibly juicy and tender. Highly recommend. Great service and atmosphere too, I went during World Cup by chance.

Was walking my pup around beautiful Downton SLO on a weekday and walked by Gold Land BBQ. They had a great menu with breakfast burritos which caught my eye. The nice employee said there was a deal on breakfast burritos. Buy one get the second half off. I ordered brisket for myself and purchased chorizo for the Mrs. While we waited they brought a water bowl out for my golden doodle which was sweet. The food didn't take long at all and WOW they were packed with goodies. The brisket was addicting. The salsa I believe has a little bit of hot sauce in it. Can't wait to come back during dinner.

AMAZING outdoor seating with great food! Food: I didn't know what to get on this hot summer day and was recommended a summer special. Not sure if this is still on the menu, but the tomato tortilla salad wrap was super refreshing and good! Service: the worker working this day was super kind and he looked out for his customers! Ambiance: great outdoor seating! Loved the open doors and big windows that connects the building from the inside and the outside

We stopped here for breakfast during our vacation, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and every staff member, from the servers to the chef, was so attentive and genuinely friendly. You can tell they really care about what they do. And the food... wow. The BBQ was outstanding...and that's saying something coming from people who used to live in the South! It's rare to find a place that nails both great food and great energy, but this spot absolutely does. Highly recommend.

We had their special taquitos 5 for $18, coleslaw, and mini churros. It was so yummy. We shared and we were full. The owners are super nice. The service was quick and they serve with plates and silverware which makes it feel a bit like a sit in and casual at the same time. Can't wait to go back! Thanks Cece!

I've come here more than a handful of times because we're currently from out of town working in the area and my god I've tried something new every time due to recommendations of the waiter. Everything has been fantastic. No complaints. Thank you again

Wasn't planning on eating here but me and my boyfriend were craving something to eat. Very good service, clean and the food came out quickly! The food was also delicious and had great presentation. What an amazing little restaurant. Highly recommend!

2 meats (chicken and brisket) plus 2 sides (baked beans and Mac n cheese)

Ate here on a Sunday for lunch after a 2 hour hike up Cerro San Luis Obispo. We were tired and starving. Our server was very quick, helpful and friendly. The Pacificos were very cold (yay)! We ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides to share. Got chicken and brisket, and the baked beans & Mac n cheese for our sides. All of it was delicious. The Mac n cheese was light but still cheesy. Garnish included pickles, pickled red onion and sliced jalepenos, salsa and of course extra BBQ sauce. Nice touch! Brisket wasn't the leanest cut, but still plenty of meat. I think I'm just 80's-trained to avoid animal fat, because our fit adult daughter would have eaten the fat too. The atmosphere is fantastic- fun, casual, indoor/outdoor patio with plenty of trees and shade sails for filtered sun, + a couple of tv's playing sports.

Where do I even begin?! The RIBS - oh my goodness, the ribs! Fall-off-the-bone tender with the perfect amount of smoke and a bark that had just the right bite. The BRISKET was like butter - so juicy and flavorful. Every single bite was pure heaven. You can tell they know what they're doing with their smoker.

Breakfast burrito with pulled pork and brisket (only half showing, after a few bites because it looked too good to wait)

Heard they have breakfast now, had to try it as good breakfast in downtown near the north end (by the creamery) is hard to find. The service from Charlie was amazing, super friendly, told me all about the breakfast menu items, offered a special not on the menu and even talked to me a bit about their ability to cater (since I work next door to them). Went with the breakfast burrito with pulled pork and brisket... sooo good! Very filling and nice and smiley from the meat. Wish I would have went with his offer to add avocado just to add some color/creaminess. But super yummy! Good prices too for what you get. I'll be back to try other items for sure!

    Brisket Taquitos

Without a doubt one of the best BBQ spots in slo! Finally a place that isn't just Santa Maria style bbq. I was overjoyed with finding a bbq place that wasn't just tri tip and Gold Land delivered. Not only was the customer service from Marco amazing but the owners were super nice as well. The food was an A+ and for SLO the price can't be beat (30$ for 2 meats 2 sides) more than enough for me and my gf. I would highly recommend getting the ribs and brisket as well as the beans and Mac and cheese. Oh and if you want a great appetizer I would get the brisket taquitos they are to die for! Thank you gold land we definitely will be back!

Best BBQ on the Central coast. Burnt ends are great. Could have more fat on them. Definitely going back again.

Luckily, they were open until around 2 PM on that holiday and we remembered all the good barbecue we've gotten there in the past. I was really looking forward to some barbecue chicken, but they don't have that anymore so since they're only two of us, we settled up on a rack of the barbecue pork ribs. We had some of our own sides at home so we just got some Poquito beans to go along with it and waited the very few minutes until it was all ready to go. This restaurant is perfectly designed for takeout, but there's also some amenities while you wait. You can play some of the games or get yourself a beer and pick up your food ready to travel. I reheated the rib slightly when we got home and they were absolutely perfect. Just the way I remembered them from when also barbecue had my favorite barbecue drum at our world famous Thursday night Farmers Market in San Luis Obispo. It's really nice to have this addition for takeout in our neighborhood!

I opted to do a trio with the bahn mi, tip o' Argentina, and the garlic fries. The food was good I forgot to take a picture! The tip o' Argentina was solid with the garlic aioli and the chimmichurri perfectly complimenting the steak and the lettuce and tomato adding a little bit of freshness. The buns they use for all of their sliders are soft, slightly sweet, and don't fall apart while you're eating. The Bahn Mi was even better. I love pork but was a little skeptical about pulled pork on a slider riffing on the flavors of a bahn mi. To my surprise and delight, it tasted just like grilled Vietnamese pork, which was perfectly complimented by the fresh and pickled veggies and surprisingly hot jalapeño. Finally, I got the garlic fries which were a massive portion, crisp, and very garlicky. Everything was good and with such a large and customizable menu, I'd definitely return if I was in the area again. I also want to give a shout out to the bartender, Kelsey. I sat at the bar and her service was attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We got the opportunity to chat for a bit and I loved her vibe, so definitely consider sitting at the bar if you're dining solo or with a friend.

It is a bit off the beaten path I thought, in a seemingly industrial area and parking was hard to find at 12:30 on a Monday. We had to go down the street and around the corner since the lot was full. I got a Gouda Burger, the summer crunch salad, and garlic fries. My wife and kid also had a slider but did Italian Sprouts, mac and cheese with bacon, and sweet potato fries. The slider was good- tasty but a little messy to eat. Both servings of fries were really generous. The salad was a good mix of ingredients. However the mac and brussels sprouts were a bit disappointing. For some there is no such thing as too much bacon but for us both of these dishes definitely had too much bacon- so much that we left a lot of the bacon! And don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my bacon. Overall, a good concept but we'll definitely try some non bacon dishes next time!
