    Corn salad

Nice new addition to the restaurant scene. Located in the quiet lil town of Santa Margarita, you'll find a hidden gem. A family-owned business that gives you an at-home feeling, and the ambiance of a backyard barbecue. As a first visit, I wanted to try a lil bit of everything. I ordered tri-tip, chicken, pulled pork. mac n chez, and their corn salad. Their tri-tip was cooked ideally, Santa Maria style, and was cooked to perfection. The chicken was served in a Carolina-style mustard sauce, and very tasty. The pulled pork was cooked well, and served in a smokey barbecue sauce. Finally, the mac and chez was a great bit of homestyle deliciousness, that had a variety of cheeses in the mix. Beverages are available, and beers are ice cold from buckets. I have nothing but good to report as they get their feet on the ground and start running.

Location. Outdoor covered patio at J's.

(Texas knows bbq!) And Chef Gregory's is right up there. If you miss good southern or mid-western smoked BBQ stop in and give Gregory's a try. Not only does he do the California favorite of tri-tip (very smokey and very tender!) he also smokes brisket, both pork and beef ribs, and pork belly. The pork belly sweet chili sauce is fantastic! The cole slaw is unique, tangy and tasty. There is a core menu of items available daily. Off the pit is: Tri-tip Wednesday, brisket Thursday, beef ribs Friday and spare ribs on Saturday. But you can call and ask for any of those special day items to be saved for you to pick up on another day if you can't get there. What a great idea. Gregory was very welcoming and willing to discuss menu items and sauce ingredients. I am Celiac, so I needed to know whether any sauces had gluten. Happily most do not. I am now a huge fan and will be back often!

Good price as well like $12.99 for buffet, I got water cup so like $15 with soda. Good value. This is an update regarding an establishment my family used to love visiting. As I mentioned…read morebefore, this was our go-to pizza spot--always clean, welcoming, and enjoyable. Unfortunately, after our last few visits, things have changed significantly. While the employees are generally friendly, customer service and management decisions have become a major disappointment. We were told that this location does not honor coupons or discounts, including promotions advertised through Mountain Mike's website and app. Employees stated that the owners operate independently and have a policy against accepting those deals. Despite the high prices, we decided to stay and order a large pizza and wings at full cost. When the pizza arrived, it was disappointing. It was dry, had very little cheese, and the toppings were sparse and unevenly distributed. It certainly wasn't the quality we've come to expect. The wings were an even bigger issue. After we had already eaten about half of our pizza, I had to ask if our wings were ready. That's when we discovered they had been forgotten entirely, despite an employee assuring us when the pizza was delivered that the wings would be out shortly, after an hour... they never came out and we cancelled the order. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with the direction this location has taken. Between refusing advertised discounts, charging premium prices, serving subpar food, and lacking attention to customer service, it's hard to justify returning. Customer service is a skill that needs to be valued and taught. If discounts and specials are advertised, they should be honored. These promotions are meant to help customers, especially during times when prices continue to rise. For now, I'll be taking my business elsewhere until I start hearing more positive reviews. Just a heads-up from a longtime pizza lover of Mountain Mike's.

Several places were closed for the day already and I saw this little corner place that still had the Open sign on. Burgers? Sure, why not, that should fill me up and it sure did! I ordered the regular Old Fashioned (no cheese), side of fries and a drink. Everyone was very friendly and helpful as I've never been to this place to eat before let alone this part of the state! The burger was perfectly cooked at medium and very juicy and delicious! Fried were good, not great but the burger was the star of the meal anyway. But I will say the fries were good once I dipped them in the dripping juices and sauce from the burger. But it was a very hearty burger and after a long drive, really hit the spot! If I'm ever in this area again or see another Sylvester's I will definitely make it a point to visit and try a different burger. Favorite dish: Old Fashioned with no cheese. Go out and EAT!

I brought my two little grandsons on with me after school let out. First I was prepared because I lived in Atas 28 years and I knew the problem this location has with the middle school and high school kids hanging out here after school. They drive away customers and take up all the seating. Today it was raining in a freak May 28 storm so all the teens were inside. Worst case scenario and it's already normally bad. They even stand in the door and block you from entering as they are talking to another one walking by. I just made my way up the door and pushed forward not intending to be deterred. Inside the teens were taking up fully at least 3 tables for 4 people, mostly boys and there was an old couple in the corner trying to eat a meal that looked very uncomfortable. The teens, none of them had food ordered or on the table. All they do is buy soda or take it as they knew the cashier young girl. I wonder if they even pay for it. I saw her hand them cups I've seen other reviews with people complaining like me about the place being overrun with non paying customers. They will stand in the way too and block the drink machines, door access or whatever. They also have no manners and will not move or say excuse me or anything. All tough guys. lol. I had to kinda push my way through to get to the register. I told my little grandsons to quickly sit down at the only empty table and wait for me while I ordered to go. The girl at the counter was sweet and helpful which was a relief. Note: They give you a discount if you pay with cash. Our order cane up pretty quick because we were the only paying customers left since the old couple already had their food. The place was 100% full with squatters taking all the tables and management needs to step up and post signs. If not dining please move along and afk them to get out of the chairs and leave. !!!!!!! When weather is nice outside even more hoards are out there and it's difficult for families or couples to enjoy a meal. We got home with the food for our 9 year olds birthday dinner and the fries were soggy greasy. I even put them in my big air fry oven to warm and crisp them but they remained soggy. The onion rings were crispy. The 3 large tri tip salads were pretty good but I can only eat lean tri tip. Most of it was not edible for me. The boys liked their kids burgers. Dan had the 1/3 lb bacon burger with cheddar and he liked it. Anyway this restaurant would greatly increase their profit and be a comfortable place if they stepped up and saved tables for paying guests who order food. Isn't that the point of a restaurant?

This makes total sense knowing that the owners came from San Diego and both worked for PPBC. Being familiar with Wild Fields award-winning brews we settled for the flight and then added some food later. Being a West Coast IPA couple, we were not disappointed with their draft offerings. In addition to IPAs, they have a good representaion of other styles, so there will be something for everyone-as long as they like beer. Wild Fields also puts together a home-brew competion, fuly embracing their community and craft beer roots. The winner gets to brew a batch of their recipe on the house system and this ultra low alcohol, smoked wheat beer was one of the most unique beers I've had. For the food, we had pulled pork and loaded mac-n-cheese. Pulled pork was fine, but I'd prefer more smoke flavor and aroma. For loaded mac, the protein is polish sausage-not something I've seen before. While it somewhat works, I don't think I'd order this again. They also had a ticketed comedy show, which we stayed for after the official closing time on a Saturday. It was fun and totally worth it. With their strong local connections and family atmosphere, Wild Fields in Atascadero is worth the detour from SLO and Paso destinations, especially for families.
