My husband and I randomly stumbled upon Capri Club last night while we were out, and it ended up being such a fun find. The vibe pulled us in right away--dim, moody lighting, cozy but still lively. It's one of those spots where you actually want to stay and hang out for a while. The drinks were really good. I even tried an espresso martini for the first time here and it was delicious--smooth, not too strong, and honestly kind of addictive. Perfect if you want something that doesn't just taste like straight alcohol. We also had some food and were pleasantly surprised--everything felt a little elevated but still really comforting. Service was friendly and laid-back, which we appreciated. Not over the top, but attentive enough. Overall, such a great spontaneous date night spot for us while we were in town. I was excited to celebrate my birthday here for the first time after hearing so many great things about Capri. Unfortunately, our experience was beyond disappointing. We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Almost immediately, my friends were aggressively accused by a waitress of bringing outside alcohol, which was completely untrue. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. What should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into a terrible experience, and we ended up leaving early. read more

Heard really good neat things about this place except that the wait is crazy and it's best to get there when it opens. Arrived at around 5:30, maybe a bit earlier and the place was maybe 85% - 90% packed. They have outdoor seating right outside and didn't notice until we were walking out, but they have a bunch of tables and chairs along the curb of Eagle Rock Blvd. Drinks are pretty solid and reasonably priced for this "inflated" new norm. Average of $12 - $16 for most drinks. You order everything at the bar - drinks and food. Grab your drinks from the bartenders (all females this night), grab a table and food was be brought to your table when ready. The food was delicious. The fried Cacio e Pepe balls were excellent! Olives were meh - just straight up olives and weren't marinated so something that you can skip. Meatballs is a MUST! Got one of the tomato sauces pasta and was also delicious. No complaints here, but I hate lines so wouldn't be back unless I happen to be in the area around their opening time. read more

Small to midsize bar located in bordering area of Eagle Rock and Glassell Park. From the menu to the space, this place has obvious vintage Italian vibes. The service here has always been friendly on the few occasions I've been here. I've been here both in the late afternoon and later in the evening before closing time and you definitely get a more swanky lounge feel at night. The drinks are well prepared and great representations of classic Italian cocktails with some fun variations. I've gotten a few different type of Negronis, some spritzers, etc. On my most recent visit, I ordered a White Negroni because I was listening to someone talk about it on a podcast and I really wanted to try it. Delicious. I personally haven't had any of the food here yet, but there is a pretty solid of selection from light bar bites to plates of pasta and dessert. Would love to come back and try some food, but just a great place to grab drinks with friends or if you are eating nearby at a different restaurant, this spot is great for pre or post dinner drinks. read more

The Capri Club in Eagle Rock is easily one of the top bars in LA, and Negroni Week was the perfect excuse to stop in. Walking in, you're immediately struck by the European vintage décor smashed with a 1960s New York City ambiance; intimate, stylish, and effortlessly cool. It's the kind of place that feels both timeless and alive. I started with a classic Negroni, but with a twist: a hint of mezcal that added just the right amount of smoke and depth. For my second round, maybe it was the vibe of the bar, but I switched things up with a tequila Negroni made with ArteNom 1146 Añejo. That drink was pure fire...bold, complex, almost spiritual. Dare I say, Stanley Tucci and Sarah Michelle Gellar would approve. To close out the night, we kept it refined with a Martinez...simple, elegant, and perfectly executed. I'll say it outright: this was probably one of the best Negronis I've ever had. I stopped by for a glass of wine prior to a screening at VIDIOTS and was told that I could not work on my laptop. When I asked why, the woman was unable to provide a reason. The bartender was cool, and the rosé was good. I'd recommend highly if they didn't have silly rules and questionable customer service. read more

The perfect spot for drinks and apps! This is more of a cocktail bar with good food rather than a traditional sit-down dinner spot. The specialty cocktails are so well-balanced, and I love that they switch up the drink menu! I've liked almost every drink I've tried, except for the salty snack. I love dirty martinis, but the salty snack was a bit much, even for me. If you are a true savory girl, like salad dressing level savory, I think you'll love it! The food is delicious! My partner and I love the calamari and shrimp fritti. We've tried the cacio e pepe suppli and arancino, but the calamari is definitely our favorite. Everything (food and drink) is ordered at the bar, but the wait staff will bring food to the table. It gets packed on weekends, and there is minimal seating. They've extended seating onto the sidewalk, but it's difficult to grab a seat past 7:00 PM. People start hovering and waiting for others to clear out, so sometimes there is lucky timing. read more

This was a really cute small bar that had great female bartenders that was super friendly and super nice so I was a little girl going here. I feel really comfortable and decor was super cute and it was just red everywhere so it's got the dark movie. feel the music was a little bit of a mess for me, and some of the people that are patrons were too drunk for my liking, but it was made the men doing that so if you can just not be near them instead of the bar and enjoy your time you'll love it The food here and the drinks are really, really good. The peace goes sour is a stand out and the little gem Caesar is a must that should be a staple there. I had the Bolognese and that was so good taste so fresh really enjoyed my time here. read more

The other night we wanted martinis and being that the homegirl has been hearing about the Capri Club, we decide to give it a try. The vibes are immaculate. Not only is the inside lush and warm, but there are many outdoor tables that make seating a non-issue and allows for enjoyment of the LA night air. We ordered three drinks for the three of us and each sampled. All excellent. This is a great place to sit with friends to talk, take a date, or just relax and enjoy an LA night without all the BS. read more

A local hipster spot in Eagle Rock, Silver Lake area of LA which always has very interesting bohemian people and vibe. It's loud but buzzing with good energy, with seating inside or out and was lucky to get a big booth and shared with 3 women who had no seats. Can't say what the food is like as had none, only cocktails but it is a long time Italian restaurant like a pub. Saw very few people eating but it was Saturday night , lots of conversations so not a dead bar at all. Servers were all attractive and attentive, responsive and drinks were very tasty, so good mixology going on here. Loved the red lighting glow, would go back for sure! Had a Negroni, which was well done and took a chance on the mescal based Capri Sour which was wildly different but very flavorful and fun! (Amaretto, red bitter, almond and mescal). This is obviously subjective since the place was packed at 4 p.m., but they have very limited seating on a first-come, first-served basis, no air conditioning (in August), no parking, and dismissive service at the bar. I ordered a drink at the bar, and I consistently find their cocktails to be well-made. You can go with a classic cocktail like a negroni or martini, and they also offer a variety of spritzes and seasonal beverages. While this place can be bustling, with some patience and luck you can find a seat (especially if your party is relatively small). Heating lamps are present if you sit outdoors. It's cute spot for summer to sip & yap but they don't have a system in place for seating. You basically just have to keep an eye out when someone is done and take the table. The vintage signage & tiled floor ignited my curiosity to strike up a conversation with the friendly bartender who told me the story about the old Capri Club, how they were on kitchen nightmares and how new ownership came in and redid the whole place. Well they did a great job, because this place hits all the style notes but the vintage nature is kept in tact like the oak wood elements and original tile to name a few. Menu is on a small page, which I like and has interesting choices interesting. I forget the name of my drink but it was a black pepper gin drink- SO good! Then had a draft on tap. I had the vegan chop & the cacao e pepe appetizer. Salad was okay, on the bitter side. Everything great though. No complaints. The environment is so enjoyable to be in and the staff was on top of it. read more

I would love to have given this restaurant five stars. I've been super excited to try the drinks and food here for a while now. But unfortunately my husband and I went out for our anniversary, and it was a bit of a letdown when we got there. The place was packed and we could barely find a place to stand. It was also a Monday night. There were people sitting in the booths along the wall maybe a couple or three people in a booth for five or six. They also have three small Bistro type tables against a bank cut in the front and a few small tables outside. There's no wait list to sit down at the bar or any of the tables. It's first come first serve, so you have to stand around like vultures to snag a table once someone stands up. We ordered drinks and hovered around until we asked these people if they were leaving shortly, they were and we are ready to take their spot. But as we went to sit down another couple who just got there pushed their way in and took those seats. Eventually we were able to grab a table, and sit down as it's hard to eat food standing up and holding your drink. Aside from that the drinks were made well, and the snacks were all delicious, the staff was also fairly friendly. For being as busy as it was they were pretty efficient. We ordered almonds and olives as appetizers to stand and eat while we waited it was just awkward to hold everything and try to eat at the same time. Once we sat down we were able to actually order food. It was Monday night so that was a lasagna special. The lasagna was delicious it was a great ratio of meat sauce to cheese to Noodle and we were pleasantly surprised. We also ordered the garlic bread which was perfect. Toasty crunchy garlicky and just all around a great side. Aside from the issue of sitting down everything was great. I also realize this is a bar but they're should be at least a wait list to sit down at the few tables available if you are planning on eating. Or making those tables eating only during peak hours like 7:00 to 9:00. read more

Monday nights. It's a perfect scene for a summer crowd-pleaser. If you're looking to mingle, grab a glass of vino or a classic cocktail like their Negroni (gin for me, maybe mezcal for you). Or try an Apertivo, I highly recommend their Cherry Spritz or "Grapefruit" Drink to quench that summer thirst. However, what makes Monday nights so special here is their cheesy, homestyle lasagna plates. Also, their Cannelloni stuffed with ricotta and zucchini was perfectly refreshing. Olives are always a nice go-to. I also ordered a side of broccolini, which was crisp and with a hint of garlic--bellisimo. Euro-style outdoor cafe seating offers a reprieve from standing and hovering for one of the tables to open up along their bar. We grabbed a spot just under a tree with a bit of shade. Our eclectic crowd of local Eastsiders are always warm and welcoming. And the misters helped cool down the stagnant air around us. After a few hours, it felt like we were enjoying a mini-vacay in Italy with a bunch of American tourists. The ambiance is just great here. Classic old school vibes and honestly one of the cooler places in Eagle Rock. The drinks are pretty darn good and the bar food is ok. Also, it is ALWAYS crowded, so that's annoying. Bar tenders are nice but given it's always crowded the service could be a little slow. Full disclosure: I've been coming here 1-2 times a week for almost a full year now, so I think it's safe to say that my review for this place is based on consistency of the level of service. This place is always busy, even on weeknights. It gets PACKED on weekends. That's a testament to the beverages and service. Drinks menu rotates seasonally so there's always something new and interesting to try. You can also always get a classic cocktail or frozen special, aside from their new craft offerings. They also have a decent selection of wine and beer. Argentinians rejoice! They've got a variety of fernet at this establishment. There is a regular food menu with larger portions from opening until about 9 or 10 pm when they switch to their late-night menu which consists of small plates to pick at. There are plenty of heat lamps outside for when it's cold so you can still sit comfortably during the winter. Seating inside is very limited. My favorite things to order for food are the Little Gem Caesar (Under a blanket of parm- best I've found in LA so far!), meatballs, tuna-stuffed pepper, and tiramisu. We came for the martinis but i was pleasantly surprised by the food. The calamari and tiramisu in particular were very good. We came on a wednesday night and it was surprisingly busy. We placed our order at the bar and found a small place to stand with our drinks. Eventually a booth opened up and we were able to snag it before our food arrived. We got some appetizers and the pesto pasta. The pesto tasted fresh but i probably would pass on getting a pasta next time and just stick to the smaller bites. read more

Loved my visit to Capri Club last week. My friend and I went for a drink on Friday snd after a short wait was able to sit inside in a booth. My friend got a Dove Sono which had a smokey funky flavor - super unique! I got the Venetian Spritz and it was refreshing and crisp. For our second round we both had a gin martini with olives. Honestly loved the olives. The atmosphere was intimate as busy in a fun way. The bar tenders were wonderful and really made me feel welcomed. The hype around Capri Club feels like it has reached a fever pitch - we showed up on a Saturday at 6:45 and it was completely packed with people waiting for tables all around the inside and outside of the bar. Unfortunately, seating is first come first serve, and there's no line or way of staking your claim. While it was a frustrating experience, I was able to get a table outside after about 15 minutes of waiting which isn't THAT bad, just would have been less anxiety inducing if I hadn't had to battle 10 other people to get it lol. We had originally planned on getting dinner, but given how packed it was, instead opted out for a light bite and drinks. We got the vegano arancini, white Negronis, and the frozen Negronis. The arancini was super yummy, especially the crema - it didn't taste processed which was impressive. The white Negroni is utter perfection and was recommended by the bar - I would order this over and over again. The frozen Negroni was too sweet for my taste, but a hit among my friend who is normally an aperol spritz type of girl. I would be back for drinks, but prefer something a little more chill for dinner options. Still, this is the hippest spot in all of Eagle Rock, and I'm glad I got to visit! read more

The Capri Club is one of those small and lively neighborhood bars that you want to return to often. Lit at night by numerous, overhead strings of festive tiny red lights that create a party atmosphere. A few cozy booths line one wall opposite a long bar with additional seating outside on the sidewalk. Bartenders were super personable and a delight. The drinks were suburb and cutely garnished. We loved the friendly, retro feel and interesting menu of bar food. We had thinly sliced Mortadella served with slices of crusty bread and green olives. We can't wait to return and try everything on their menu. The Capri Club made me happy! Like discovering a small, island bar you never want to leave while on your best vacation. read more

I wandered into Capri Club after getting a birthday massage nextdoor. There was just a welcoming atmosphere spilling out the open windows on a really nice September evening and I figured, why not just grab a birthday cocktail? I pulled up a barstool and ordered the (pictured) Espresso Martini, which is the best one I've ever had. I ended up chatting with the other patrons and the bartender, both of whom bought me birthday drinks (the little aperitif was from the bartender) and celebrated with me. It was so sweet, and really kind, and just overall good vibes. It gave me all the warmth of feeling like I was in an episode of CHEERS. People came in and out with their dogs and babies, a cycling crew met up out front before heading out on an evening ride, the owner walked around and knew handfuls of people by their first names. It's exactly what you dream of when you hope for a neighborhood bar. read more
