Was very disappointed after seeing the positive reviews. Maybe 10 tables total, waited for 20 minutes for a table. Ordered food at 11:40, at 12:20, another table that came in after us, party of 7, was served (they ordered ahead?) before us. Ordered breakfast, nothing crazy. Food was served cold... never send food back but after waiting 45 min, figured what the heck? It was ok... and the waitstaff apologetic, but unless they get it together, won't go back. PS: an option for breakfast item was an additional up charge without explanation and was told by our server it was an option with no up charge mentioned. Maybe don't use phone to take orders too... seems to slow down server :( read more

Used to come here while traveling thru. After 2 years, finally came back a few days ago. don't know what has happened to this place: It's not clean, not at all. We were given a booth , but the seat had a huge hole in it and the table had not been cleaned. Sticky; looked like jelly on it. We left without eating. I was in town for a wedding and took one look at this menu and knew I needed to try it out. It's a cute cafe with fun signs hanging everywhere. My husband ordered the Dalton while I ordered the Annie Oakley for breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly but the stars of the dishes were definitely the biscuits and gravy and the mini bread pudding waffles. The biscuits were soft and delicious and the gravy was warm and well seasoned. Oh! And I had the hash brown casserole with mine and it was 10/10, certified slap yo momma good. So now, let me tell you about the magical bread pudding waffles. They are served with maple-butter and syrup. After one glorious bite, I regretted not adding them to my meal as well. This was a great experience! Was in town with coworkers for a job and we found this on Google. I ordered an omelette with spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and cheddar and feta cheese with hash browns on the side. My coworker ordered their bread pudding waffles and another pancakes that I tried. My omelette was absolutely filled with the ingredients and was so good! The waffle was very filling because it's bread pudding, so not fluffy as a normal Belgian waffle. But still very tasty and we didn't use syrup because they had cinnamon butter that was perfect! The pancakes I tried was so soft and delicious! Our waitress was nice and helpful with recommendations along with other waitstaff refilling cups of coffee. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in town! read more

My husband and I went to this restaurant on Saturday morning, October 8th around 8:30 am. When we walked in, we were immediately struck by a distasteful joke about a customer's bad review on a sign at the front of the restaurant. There were already two couples waiting for a table. The front part of the restaurant had most of their tables blocked off and not being used. More and more people came in. The entrance was packed. People were standing all around the front door and even sitting on the stairs. There were probably 12-15 people waiting for a table. The staff seemed completely unfazed and in no hurry to serve food or tend to customers. We were told it would be a 15 minute wait. Fifteen minutes came and went and no customers left. One of the couples in front of us left. We waited a few more minutes and we left, too. We were disappointed that we weren't able to have breakfast here because we planned to spend our morning downtown. We had already been to the farmer's market, and we wanted to contribute to downtown Paducah's economy. Unfortunately, this place has changed and not for the better. read more

This place was great. My friends and I enjoyed Gold Rush and the super friendly staff. I LOVED their scrambled eggs. My coworker got an omelet and said it was good. Fair warning that they put salsa over the top of their omelets. My coworker asked for gravy to put it over the omelet and of course was surprised when he saw the salsa and had to wipe it off. I had the double cheese burger with onion rings and BBQ sauce, fries, and Iced Tea. Our waitress kept the iced tea full and even filled a to-go cup for us, which was really nice on a 90+ degree day. The burger was good - not great, but good. The fries were hot and crispy. The boss got the wrap and seemed to love her meal. A nice clean atmosphere and our waitress was super friendly. We were a bit disappointed after having read the previous reviews. The main dining room was full so we were seated in an area that was clearly being used for storage. I got the Annie Oakley, and my wife got an omelet. The hash brown casserole was greasy and neither of us could finish it. My eggs were fine, and the biscuits and gravy were pretty good, but not spectacular. My wifes omelet was OK, but didn't have the extra ingredient in it that she had ordered. My friend and I were in town in Paducah for the weekend, and I saw some blogs rave about Gold Rush as a good place for brunch. We stopped by on a Sunday morning and had to wait 20-30 minutes, but it wasn't too bad, and the staff was really friendly. Once we were seated, the waitress was really nice and friendly, and they had great service. What I loved about Gold Rush however was their scotch eggs. I seriously still think about those scotch eggs and it's been over a month. It's a little hard to describe, but they are breadcrusted eggs wrapped in meat, and are as good as they sound. Loved them and definitely a unique dish that I'm not sure where I'd find here in Chicago. Would recommend stopping by at Gold Rush if you're in the area, the people and vibe are nice, and it has a good energy, yummy food, and friendly staff. read more

First off I read reviews and they are highly recommended. I whole heartedly agree. If you want a yummy breakfast then this is the place. Let's get to it. The biscuits, they are famous and for good reason. They are huge, there are a few house made jellys you can try or do what I did and pour gravy all over it. The biscuits and gravy are wonderful. Oh boy the home fries. You get your choice of potatoes and why not get what they are famous for. Yes I like hash browns and tater tots, but I can get those anywhere. The home fries though are cooked in bacon fat with garlic and onion. Need I really say more, come on that's everything. I got the scotch eggs, another staple. Now I'll say this. I don't normally like hard boiled eggs, and this is usually something I'd steer clear of. Oh my word did my gut choose right. These things are wonderful, golden crispy fried, bacon wrapped, heaven sent mouth gasms. My goodness they taste so heavenly. They serve them with a honey mustard of sorts that compliments them perfectly. The coffee here is even yummy. As tired as I was I needed it. The waitress we had was funny and sweet. She was very nice and took care of us. I will be back if nothing else just to eat here. I live 3 hours away in Louisville and will have to find an excuse to be here just for breakfast. If you're in town for any reason and you don't take the time to eat here. You really are missing out. This place was just the best. Hot food done right. I ordered an omelet and it was amazing.

We are in Paducah at least several times a year visiting family but we rarely venture downtown, and definitely not for breakfast. Well, the last time we were in town for the holidays, we decided to treat Paducah like any other city we visit and see what Yelp has to say about the food scene. We found Gold Rush and we were off! Imagine my surprise to find that somewhere in little ol' Paducah actually served Scotch Eggs!??! While there were several other things on the menu that I would like to try, my fate was sealed as soon as I saw the "Golden Bullets" (hard boiled eggs wrapped in a blend of maple sausage and bacon, panko breaded and deep fried) served with maple mustard, potatoes, and a bread of my choosing. They were amazing -- and the maple mustard made in house really sealed the deal, it really played off of the maple sausage fantastically well. While the menu is incredibly diverse, the main detractor from 5 Stars was their apparent rule for no substitutions. My father in law had a very specific set of items that he wanted, but they weren't bundled into a set breakfast platter. Instead of swapping one item for another, he had to order a la carte (at a significantly higher expense). Admittedly, this is breakfast food, so we aren't talking big dollars here, it is just the principal. read more
