    Harvest Chicken Salad
    Julie M.

I've heard so many good things about this place. I finally got around to trying it. I ordered a large buffalo chicken pizza, large harvest salad, and fries. I was given an estimate of 20 minutes. Upon showing up to pickup they got the order wrong, hearing antipasto salad instead of fries on the phone. The correct order was ready in 33 minutes. Understandable. Mistakes happen. When placing the order they asked which dipping sauce for the pizza. I asked for blue cheese. When I got home I realized they forgot the dipping sauce for the pizza and the dressing for the harvest salad. Overall the food was great, really good fries, the pizza was amazing and the salad was one of the best I've had in the area. This place would be a 5 but due to the mixup and missing dressings I have to give it a 4.

An 'ok' pizza. Cooked well but average cheese and sauce. Crust is decent. That said, $5 for a small cheese is a good deal and worth it if you're in the area. Could do better or worse though if you're looking for a go-to spot.

Once again. You can't lose with the prices, the size of the meals, or the fast service. Now $5 small cheese pizzas everyday !

I have lived less than a couple miles away from this place for 3 years and never tried it. It's easy to miss. Crammed in a cruddy strip mall along Gold Star Hwy, a liquor store and laundromat next door. The decor is non existent, a little run down, but clean. The point is: ignore all of this. It's not what's important. Here is what is important to know about this place: They are super nice and friendly, the food is simple but awesome, and the portions are huge and the prices more than reasonable. One of my guilty pleasures is fried seafood. I ordered clam strips dinner and a friend ordered calamari. Ordering fried food in a place like this, you don't set expectations too high. But I was amazed. We were brought these heaping plates of seafood, fries, and these great lightly battered onion ring strings. None of it was overly greasy, it was some of the cleanest (IE. fresh fryer oil) fried food I have ever tasted. Really great. And the portion was too much for even me, I got a box and took some home. Since that trip I have also ordered delivery a couple of times. Their grinders are great! Get a toasted steakworks, it's what fat kids dream of! Overall, this place is a sort of diamond in the rough. Food is simple, but they take pride in it. They are friendly and the prices are good. Overlook the location and appearance and give them a try.

Delicious pizzas, salads and grinders. Lots of toppings and fillings. Served with a smile every time.

She was so kind and attentive; she even brought out a second serving of the complimentary bread which was soft, warm, and fresh. Delicious with their olive oil! Food: - gnocchi: this came piping hot and I liked it! very generous portion but I felt like the tomato sauce tasted a bit off or was missing something. - tortellini: this was stellar. We got it with the pesto which I definitely think is the move. So flavorful and dense! Flavor packed.

The service was excellent, especially since we were a party of six and descended on the place unannounced. My wife and I did order pizzas - she ordered the shrimp and artichoke pizza and I ordered the Margarita pizza. She loved her choice and gave it a score of ten out of ten. I gave my Margarita pizza a four out of ten and think that that was generous. My complaints - the crust was quite wimpy, undercooked, and the entire pizza was overpowered by the basal pesto! I have never had basil pesto, or any other pesto, on a pizza! I will give the Recovery Room another chance and will try the Margarita pizza again. But, I will ask for fresh basil and be specific that the pesto is not to contaminate the pizza. My long experience with pizza making is that they must be cooked on a stone and the oven must be 500F or higher to get the crust the way I like it. The Recovery Room most likely takes its name from the Lawerence Memorial Hospital which is just a couple of blocks away from the restaurant.

My personal favorite is their eggplant parmesan grinder. Whether you're a meat eater, a vegetarian, or even a vegan(just order it without cheese), it's the perfect grinder! The greeting at the door was great; very friendly and easy going! Hi energy from those in the back preparing orders! I noticed the gentleman at the register knew practically everyone that walked in and their order. This is the family friendly environment that I miss back west. Maybe because I did not grow up there I don't feel the genuine sincerity that I do here on the east coast when someone speaks or asks how you're doing. For whatever reason I felt appreciated when I ordered. Small bacon grinder (hero/sub/sandwich on a roll) light mayo, lettuce, tomato, toasted! I was told not to order extra anything because it will be enough. It was! It was a small but I could barely finish half of it. Packed with meat and finely shredded lettuce...great! I prayed the bacon would not be crunchy (bcuz who likes dry crunchy bacon) and it was NOT! I knew then if I didn't enjoy this grinder then something was seriously wrong...with me! Overall I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to finishing the other half and returning to this establishment when I'm back in town! If you're a local, I'm sure you've eaten here so IYKYK. If you're a visitor to the area (New London/Waterford, CT) then give them a try. They're super friendly and accommodating! Enjoy whatever you decide to order
