I've been a member of G1 for some time now since my Sacramento living days. I'm grateful for the long standing banking relationship and happy there is one local to me. I've haven't had a negative experience here whether going in for a withdrawal, to applying for a vehicle loan to opening my son's first checking account. I can only remember on occasion the ATMs were down but that wasn't a major issue for me. Ample parking, friendly staff. I would recommend G1. read more

Absolutely terrible service from Tim at the Vacaville branch. They hold your checks for 9 business days. I came here as a new customer and they like to hold your money hostage for a long time. First time it was 4 days and the 2 nd time they're telling me 9 business before my money is available. Called and spoke with Tim. First he said he'd release $200 and next thing you know I went from $42 available balance to $0.00. I called back and Tim wouldn't answer. A fellow co worker said she couldn't help since there was nobody available that can help. Seems really fishy to me. I am having 2nd thoughts about being a member here. Stay away! Don't bother trying to use their new mobile online banking because it doesn't work! It might work if you have any Apple, or iPhone, but if you have a Samsung Android, it doesn't work. I should say that after many attempts to get the app to work on my phone, by numerous calls for help from Golden One personal, with no resolution, and by going to the local branch twice, Golden One has not been able to help. If Golden One still has customer service, and can solve my problem, please let me know because if not, I will be forced to switch banks. read more

They 'upgrade' and kick you off their app and mobile banking every year. This year I was locked out of my accounts and Zelle for weeks and nobody could help me. They called it a glitch. I Do Not recommend this credit union if you care about accessing your money. read more

I stopped by to use the ATM ,but, neither one accepting cash deposits. I went inside and the line was to the door (mostly likely due to the non working ATMs), with only 2 tellers working. This isn't the first time this location has forced me to go inside because of the ATMs not working. I ended up walking right out. I have other errands to run before more rain returned. I plan to return later this week with hopes of the ATM working again. read more

Bank opens at 10:00 on Saturday - promptly. Employees were ready to take on the line of people waiting outside of the branch. As the line formed inside they had one employee triaging everyone asking them what their needs were to ensure they were in the right line or if they could be helped some other way. Resort in Mexico said they put $100 hold on my card and never gave it back. I contacted the bank I even had messages between me and the hotel showing proof they never gave me my deposit back and Golden 1 still didn't tell them to refund me or let me dispute it because it was fraud. They also have issue with their systems a lot I'm thinking about changing my bank. read more

I bank with Golden1 CU because they are a large credit union throughout the state of California and I can usually find one anywhere I go. The tellers are pretty efficient, not the nicest people, but efficient nonetheless--quick in and out. The banking is free and I get all the perks I need--mobile banking, direct deposit, and free checking. That is all I really want in a bank and I have been pleased here. I did ding a star because when there is a line, the bank does a really poor job of ensuring customers are acknowledged in line. A simple "that you for your patience, we will be right with you" goes a long way. Plus there is a manger there, who sulks around the place and ignore customers in line. I never understand why she doesn't open a window. I used to work at a bank and we would never have acted that way. Weird! read more

Noticed in my bank account bimonthly charges for an entity called Nation Wide since March 2020. My lovely wife and I had no idea what these charges were. I went to Golden One Credit Union personally and was attended by Joshua Chamblee, a Member Service Specialist I. He was very kind, courteous and professional. He went way out of his way to attend to my needs. He meticulously went throughout my bank account and found all of the fraudulent charges and removed them. In addition, because of the time lapse he was not able to clear some of the fraudulent charges, however he gave me a phone number to contact and gave me explicit details of what to convey to the assistant on the phone to rectify the situation. I'm quite glad and elated that I personally went to this Golden One Credit Union and extremely happy that I was taken care of by Joshua Chamblee. Thank you! read more

Strictly based on the 2 ATM machines outside, they are always (90%) broken. Either making cash/check deposits or with drawing money, one of the machines seems to always not allow full use. Especially frustrating around paydays. I only go inside on the weekends but that's why they have ATM. This has been consistent for the last several years. Looking elsewhere for my credit union needs in Vacaville. Travis Credit Union has many more locations in Vacaville, will likely check them out soon. read more

They are the worst!! They cant handle simple transactions. Went in to withdraw from my Visa card and they couldn't do it because it didn't have a chip #1. Gave them another opportunity, went in to withdraw cash again with a Visa card (with a chip this time) and they could only do $500 cash! I can do that at the Atm! So the employee told me I could get in check from, "ok, do it" I said. After the check was printed she informed me it would be a $5 fee : Travis would've given me the cash : no fee. So i told her I wasn't going to pay the $5 ,to please return the money in my account so she did minus the $5!! I was never informed I would have to pay until the transaction had already taken place!!! I will NEVER be back there!!!! There are a lot of choices out there for financial services . Worst bank and worst branch. Closed my account in November 2020, Checked never received in mail for my funds then had to wait 90days and come 90days came to this branch and the people that works here are terrible at doing their job. They made me fill up a form so they could issue me a check and they never issued me one and had to wait another month before I received my final check. It took so many phone calls and follow up before they even did anything. They said they will call me but they never followed through. If I could give them no star I would but I guess I have to give them a start I order to post this review. Go find a better bank and run away from this one. read more

As a company, I really like them; but as for a bank location, they suck! There's this one bank teller with a terrible attitude and she looks so angry to be here, they also never have enough tellers working. Whenever you need to open an account or speak to the ladies in the office, expect to wait 30min+ because I've never had a shorter wait, even when I can see that there's a lady or two not helping anyone. read more

I really love being a member at Golden 1! I've tried out pretty much every financial institution in the area and this is the best. I have a checking, savings, and car loan through Golden 1. The few times I've had to go into to branch, I've received great service from both the tellers and the personal bankers. I have to admit the parking at this branch can be a hassle. Because of the many restaurants who share the parking lot, you may have to park really far away. Luckily, Golden 1 offers many options which can eliminate even having to visit a branch. I use the check depositing service through the app or visit one of their co op ATMs to make withdrawals. All around, I've pleased with this bank. read more

But Josh made a big turned-around to my demure since he shows willingness & sincerity in helping his Customer. I have been a member of this bank since I was 10 years old. 25 years of loyal service. I received my first checking, savings, credit card and first loan with the golden 1. sadly, the customer service at the vacaville location is sorely lacking. I had a serious banking issue that needed to be resolved and the assistant manager, Jennifer was rude, impolite, unprofessional, condescending and seemed annoyed to even be working. She did not want to help me at all and my issue was too much of a burden and annoyance for her to have to lift a finger. I had to drive 20 plus minutes to Fairfield to try and get some help. Luckily, the Fairfield branch is incredibly kind, helpful and attentive. I love the golden 1, but the Vacaville branch does not give a good face to this bank institution. Jennifer, do better. I wanted to close my account and walk away from banking here but I will not let your bad attitude ruin my account. read more

Golden One is a horrible Credit Union they have no loyalty to long term customers, and by long term I means 30 years or more. We had an issue with our credit a long time ago but we have great credit scores now and we got denied for a loan that they were pushing on us in our online bank account. We never caused Golden One a loss so it makes no sense for them to deny a loan. Now I have a hard inquiry on our credit and a denial, they knew our credit score that's probably why they were pushing the loan. It's a horrible place to do business, especially if you think by being a good customer you can actually have access to their products. Like I said loyalty is not in their vocabulary. read more

The customer service department told me I can go to any branch to get a replacement card. I went into Sacramento and their card machine was not working. I then decided to go into the branch in Vacaville where I work and their card machine is broken. They offered for me to drive to Davis to get one. If I knew I would have had to drive everywhere I would've just taken the option for it to be shipped next day. read more

We were notified by Golden 1 Security of a questionable withdrawal from our account. I contacted them immediately. We were assisted by Sandy Him of the Vacaville Branch. This review applies to Golden One in general. By far, the worst customer service I have ever CONSISTENTLY received. You call for help, it's always someone else's department and they can't help you. Worst part, is being on hold for HOURS. This is not an exaggeration!!! I also had an issue with escrow being improperly calculated (bill suddenly went up 400 a month). They are a great bank and I have never had any problems going inside or with my money. The one problem is there app sucks. It is never working. Every-time I go into the app and try to log in theres always a problem or it takes 5 min to load. I just tried to check my transaction history and in the middle of scrolling down it literally exited right out of the app and when I tried to log back in it said the whole system was down again. They need to fix whatever is wrong with it, it is always unavailable. read more

Steer far far away from this financial institution. They will lie through their teeth to save their money. After being extorted for two separate overdraft fees, while my account has overdraft protection checked in it's preferences, And my secondary account has more than enough funds to cover the balance,I was offered no solution for recovering those fees. Opened a checking account five months ago (Jan 2016). Have not received debit card nor starter checks. One telephone message left was not returned. Today (5/27/2016) I returned Alisa voice mail at 1(877)465-3361 and could not reach her. Was not allowed to leave a voice message, was disconnected after approx. 2 mins phone rings. Alisa message to me was to also try calling her at the branch with extension given to me, but not branch telephone number. Google internet researches returns only 1(877) toll number ... To me personally - Golden One is not a very organized nor customer-centric credit union. read more

I usually always have a good experience here but today a lady named Jennifer was super rude about the way she answered my questions she kinda seemed annoyed when I asked if I could deposit into Safe accounts and I also asked if I could break the large bill I had to make a deposit; I understand that it wasn't possible but she basically told me that because I'm not a client of her bank I get no help she then asked for the account number and she said it was wrong she knew that the 2 digit suffix wasn't needed but instead of helping she jus stared at me so I then told her to try without the last 2 digits like omg she was jus so annoyed with me and she really annoyed me as well. People should work on their customer service skills. read more
