Terrible service. The dispatcher had no communication with us. She said tow was though to take 2 hours, fine I get that. But if we call at 9:30 and by 11:30 we still haven't received an update or a "hey we're running late" is just unacceptable. We call in and she said at 12 that he was just changing a tire in town already. We ask if we can get his number for an ETA but the dispatcher states she can't give it to us but he will call us??? I was referred by AAA to this towing company to inspect and repair my battery. They sent Ernesto out to service my car. He replaced my battery but gave me a metal bracket that was leftover because it "didn't fit with the new battery". That seemed strange to me because I've had batteries replaced before, but never encountered additional pieces. I called their dispatcher who assured me that the service person was correct and not to worry and this was normal. After my car was operational and the towing company was gone, I took my car to my mechanic who inspected my battery replacement and showed me that my entire battery was loose and able to slide around because of the bracket that the service person wasn't able to attach. This towing company showed me a new level of incompetence. Wish I could give 0 stars. read more

I haven't gotten a service from here, so I can't leave stars about that. However, I can rate them on their driver who I just witness almost cause several accidents while driving down Central. I was one of the cars that had to swerve out of his way, inches away from the center divider with my newborn baby in the car. He cut off several city busses, honked at cars, ran lights, and drove down the center of each lane. I eventually turned to go home a different way because I was terrified he was going to hit me. Golden Bear Towing deserves a 5 star rating. We had to use them twice, once in March and once in April. The first call was for a dead battery and the technician, Jacob, tested the battery and diagnosed it as not being the battery. Jacob was very professional, knowledgeable, and all around a GREAT GUY! Sarah, my Van ran out of gas close to Montclair High School where I teach. Called AAA who sent out Golden Bear Towing. The driver was very nice and professional, however I had left my wallet at home.. the reason I ran out of gas to begging with. The driver asked me for $10 for a gallon of fuel, explained I had nothing on me. Then things got ugly. I called Golden Bear Towing and Miguel the dispatcher answered. He was highly irritated and rude. I begged him to just give me enough fuel to get to the gas station, after all a gallon of fuel is $4 and AAA is paying Golden Bear for the call. He refused and made me feel horrible. I called AAA they send out another Towing company. I'm driving a van, I have my school uniform on and I have AAA. Golden Bear, do you thing I'm a con-artist? Do you think I try to get a free gallon of fuel by having a AAA membership and waiting a couple of hours on the road?? Merry Christmas- This towing company should do Repos ONLY... NOT AAA. My wife had purchased a battery that was delivered from one of their drivers a few months back...turns out the battery had a bad cell. Sometimes these things happen. When my wife brought this issue to Golden Bear towing being it was still under warranty, she was treated very unprofessional by GB's dispatch and was hung up on. After getting the run around for about a week and being stranded several times here we are today. She spoke to a so called supervisor by the name of Miguel who also treated her poorly and hung up on my wife. A very kind and professional gentleman by the name of Jacob who is also employed by Golden Bear finally came to her assistance today. I got out of work today and discovered that I had a huge nail in my tire. I called AAA and was assigned Julian from Golden Bear Towing. I assumed I had a spare tire in my trunk because I should have had one, but did not. Julian went above and beyond and helped find tire shop that was open late and even called to see if they had my kind of tire in stock. Golden Bear and Jacob (#848) saved the day! On my way to work this morning, and I decided to stop for gas before I got on the freeway. Someone pointed out my tire was going flat... Oh no, there was a nail in it! I called my insurance's emergency services #, and they assigned Golden Bear. The estimated arrival time was 8:03. Got a call from Jacob to verify my location (thankfully, because the app was off a bit), and he got the job done QUICK! He was done 5 minutes before that estimated arrival time! Not only was he quick, he was very friendly, and helped turn around what was looking like a horrible Friday. Kudos to Jacob & Golden Bear! My son ran over something in the road at 10:45pm. We were given an ETA of a 12:04 arrival time by AAA. At 11:45 your company informed us it would be another 120 minutes. At 1:45am, after we had to reach out to you for an update, you informed us it would be another 45mins. We contacted AAA and they informed us that Golden Bear towing cancelled our tow with no word, no communication. Now after reading the other reviews, I can see why this company sucks. You made us wait 3 hours to just cancel us. Your company is crap! I will be filing a complaint with AAA over and over until they cancel your account. Posted this to both Google and Yelp. This company came out to fix a tire couldn't do it. So we changed it to a tow with AAA. The company had a tow time of 1030 so a wait of 1.5 hours. (They called me at 1240, a 4 hour actual). Told them it was already canceled a rescheduled for the morning 9 am. The driver called us at 920 and said he was in the alley where GPS took him. We gave him the correct location on major road across from city hall. We watched him turn the wrong direction. Texted back and forth for 30 minutes no show so we called the company spoke with Mahood (sp?). They had cancelled our tow amd never told us.. he said we had to recall AAA. Girl on the phone was super rude. Told me my tow truck would be there in 50 min (after I already had waited 45min. It 5:45 pm at this point..) it's now 10:47pm and still no tow truck. Says it will get to me (at a gas station I've been sitting at this whole time) around 12:09 am!!!!!!!!!!!! 6 hours and 24min for a tow truck???? Why do I pay a membership at AAA FOR THIS KIND OF SERVICE??? Ridiculous. Get your act together. If you don't have enough drivers... close shop. AAA sent these guys out to take my truck in to a mechanic. They were on time, polite and SUPER helpful. The young man who showed up took about 20 minutes (with my permission) to see if he could get my truck running without having to tow it. He was actually able to do so, but between the 2 of us, decided it was best for him to tow it in. He gave me his diagnosis so that I was less likely to be taken advantage of by anyone and he said he'd speak to the mechanic and tell him what he'd found out. He was careful about getting it onto the bed of the truck so no nicks or scratches on an old truck that I'd just had repainted last year. GREAT GUYS! read more

I love AAA and have for 38 years. However, I am disappointed that they contract with this company. The customer service from this Golden Bear Towing is TERRIBLE. I was an hour away from my home when my car was experiencing issues. AAA sent this GBT out to tow my truck. What was supposed to be a simple tow to my home ended up being a 24-hour nightmare in which I had to eventually call GMC to come to pick up my truck because Golden Bear Towing was giving me such a hard time. It was 9 pm when they said they were 90 minutes out. When I called to check the ETA after 90 minutes passed, the customer service guy was VERY RUDE!!! He said the tow truck driver was 5-10 minutes away. I asked him "Are you sure because this is what I was told 30 mins ago." He responded "That's what I told you isn't it?" How rude!! The tow truck driver didn't arrive until 12:30 AM!! Upon arrival, he would not take my truck. What a nightmare. AAA informed me that he should have towed my truck because everything was good on their end. AAA requested a follow-up tow and GBT never showed. It is now 2:30am...I call to check the ETA and GBT said they aren't coming because they do not want to get sued. Smh, they are a terrible company. If you are in the Rancho Cucamonga area I hope you never have to rely on these guys for your car needs. AAA please CANCEL the contract with GBT. read more
