Horrible customer service from the actual owner of this place and girl from drive thru. Very rude. Repeated my order to them and they still got my order wrong. Prices on menu aren't cheap. I paid for my food and to my surprise my order was wrong. When i called to get a replacement they refused to give me the correct order that I ordered. I order 2 medium bowls and gave me a medium and small. Owner is very rude and clearly doesn't care about his restaurants service. He tried to instead give me free small fries instead of the correct medium bowl I ordered. I strongly do NOT recommend this place I do rather recommend FLAME BROILER. Never coming here again. Golden Bowl is a nice change of pace from the every oh-so boring frozen and grey pigmented hamburger with an endless mountain of seasoned fries. It allows a most generous helping of meats and rice, though un-proportioned to each other, when hungry this most likely is not a problem. Try the large size if you favor left overs, though don't expect the quality to not diminish. Something in those house-sauces just doesn't quite hold. I recommend first timers try the chicken and beef bowl with avocado, avocado, which is upon request and at extra charge. It will give you the best of both worlds. Previously, I was under the impression that the chicken was prepared by means of stir-fry, based on how I swore I saw them prepare it once. The flame broiled taste you get infused in the meats, however, depicts otherwise. The restaurant atmosphere itself is that of what is expected in a fast food hole-in-the-wall (dive joint), which too many locals of So Cal are remindful of "good food to come". The drive through option seems to be most common with regulars and moves to quickly for its own good. Though multiple times I have either received no hot sauce or no additional house sauces (which I do think makes the meal complete) or even no serving of avocado; still the quality and quantity of the meat has never once been jeopardized in my five years of patronage. On the worst of days you may receive an avocado serving as hard as a rock that made even I wonder how the chef could have cut into the fruit and still served it, hence, the loss of one star. Still Golden Bowl is a nice change of pace for those who require a quick lunch or dinner and tire of the same-old same-old. Skip the veggie bowl and sea food bowl on your first trip as I have never witnessed these prepared for any client. Freshness of the sea food would be most suspect. KooSoooo we usually come here often. Always good not a problem....until today. I ordered a beef bowl with shrimp as well as a chicken one, two burgers and a large fry. As I left the drive threw I of course checked the food.....noticed the salads were missing from the bowls but hey whatever I had both kids in the car wasn't about to get out for that. So I went home and my boyfriend got a huge hair tied up in a piece of meat! I was pissed so I decided to call. Asked for a person in charge. And they said " well what do you want?? Your money back??" So I was really looking forward to eating some golden bowl with my family after playing ball. When We walked in at 9 with the hours showing they close at 10 we were told right away that they are only taking to go orders so we understood. The customer service was really slow and very bad, we received bad vibes once taking the first order then after words we were waiting at least 15 minutes to take another order when the main girl on the register just kept doing her side work in front of us and ignored us. I used to enjoy their chicken and shrimp bowls until one day while I was eating I found a tiny coarse hair in mine. It could have been an eyebrow hair, an eyelash perhaps? We get there at 10 exactly no one answered the intercom but noticed the sign said open so we still waited for a few minutes nothing so we go to the window. the girl instantly gave my bf attitude saying we're closed you didn't wait in the intercom so we didn't get your order apparently she's the manager. My bf said calmly dam we waited for a while even said hello we thought the intercom didn't work. She said no you didn't wait I said hello we have cameras.. what does cameras have to do with anything we said hello no one answered were not going to wait there for a long time so later we can be told it's closed.. long story short don't come at anyone with attitude regardless if someone is there at closing time. I came here yesterday with high hopes for this place. I was not in the mood for cooking( I cook daily.) I could've stopped and grabbed some Waba Grill, which is way closer to my place, but my son was sleeping and was looking for a place with a drive-thru, so I found this place. They were fairly quick, which was a plus(I got the chicken and beef plate with a side of veggies.) I got home and opened up the boxes and it actually looked and smelled good. My son and I ate some and shortly after I started feeling sick to my stomach and drank some medicine and still was feeling queasy, not to mention my little one was up and crying all night bc his tummy was hurting. The prices were similar but the rice was super gummy, which made the entire bowl NASTY.
