I've been here a few times, and the food is delicious. The tabbouleh is super fresh! Generous portions. I've gotten the gyro bowl and crispy shawarma wrap, both are enough for 2 meals. Typically I have to wait anywhere from 5-15 minutes for my to go orders when I arrive well after the estimated time, so keep that in mind. But overall one of my go to spots for some fresh and tasty takeout.
The food was spectacular and very authentic, I really enjoyed the gyro it's not often you find a gyro made correctly; I watched him slice the lamb/beef off the revolving meat skewer. The falafel had a flavor I had never had before and the dipping sauce for it was perfect. Baklava is good as always and the shish was juicyyyyy! The staff takes care of you, the restaurant is styled like a come and get your food type place but yet they bring out your dishes to you and make sure you get everything quickly and as expected! The cook even came out and made sure he had made everything up to par. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was very clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye, they decorated it nicely with a middle eastern touch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will be back again!
Golden Chicken is a hidden gem tucked in a strip mall. We ordered a gyro and a beef shawarma bowl, and both were huge portions. The beef was well-seasoned. The price was very reasonable for the size of the meals. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a casual spot with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is excellent and perfect for a satisfying, quick meal.
Golden Chicken has been open for a few years now in Saint Peter's and is located in the same strip mall as Cecil Whittaker's. The owner is young and very personable, and he does a fantastic spiced rotisserie chicken that he serves on top of a couple of pitas. Let me tell you, you want those pitas because they are going to soak up all those lovely juices and then you can make your own rotisserie chicken wraps when you get home. I've been here many times and other favorites are the gyro, fatoush salad, kebab, and mixed plate. The falafel are pretty good, but they are fried darker than I like. I highly recommend the lemon and mint beverage and they now carry Excel soda, but o miss my Diet Dr. Pepper that they used to serve. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of the restaurant is very basic with banquet style tables and chairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I almost forgot to mention the fantastic chicken wings! He makes his own sauces and the honey hot is one of my favorites!
I can't review this place every time I go here, the internet would run out of ink. In summary, this is my most favorite restaurant. I've dined-in, had plenty of takeout, and even had them cater a 30-person gathering. I have had exceptional service, and amazing food. Go here. Try everything. Get the Lemon Mint Slushie. Get me one. Get me two.
I love gyros and decided to try this venue. The person assisting me recommended a dish and I always follow the guidance of what the team members recommends. To be fair, I wanted to try something new and different. It was both of them. The meal consisted of beef, chicken and lamb served over rice. I enjoyed the beef but the lamb, chicken and rice was not for me. I would try again as I liked that you could order fresh rotisserie chicken and it is done within a hour. Golden Chicken is the best, not-so-hidden-gem in the STL area! The unassuming restaurant is kicking out the freshest and most flavorful middle eastern food. Every dish is completely made to order, so be patient as the magic is happening.. and trust me the drive and wait (15ish min) is totally worth it!! Everything we ordered was amazing but my top favs are: Chicken Shawarma Plate (seriously the best chicken ever) Hummus - again the best ever Tabouleh (super fresh) Chicken Shawarma Wrap Falafel I need to go back and try their beef dishes but the chicken is so good, it'll be hard to try anything else! For my GF friends, they are very allergy conscious. They have GF wraps that go great with the Hummus and since the Tabbouli is made-to-order, they did it without the wheat for me!

They were busy and I was there at dusk during Ramadan. The carryout business appeared to be pretty brisk. I wasn't in a hurry and sat in the dining area with a book. The dining area was cozy but not cramped. There was a small area set aside for prayer- i don't know if that's always or for Ramadan. The falafel was fresh, crispy on the outside. the tahini sauce, mixed with the spicy garlic was good. I found the beef shawarma a bit dry and tough. the yogurt sauce is bland- i used more of the spicy garlic. The veggies and pickles were good. If i go again, since chicken is in the name, I'll try a chicken dish. They did offer a gf wrap on the menu.
Tried a gyro from the golden chicken and was impressed. The flavor was great and was a tad different than the usual gyro spots I eat at. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and my order was taken. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating area was bigger than I was expecting and I would give a 7/10 for cleanliness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I am easily food-influenced, so when this place popped up for me and I saw HOW crispy, and roasted their chicken looked, I told my husband we had to order something. But - when pulling up the menu, we couldn't decide on what we wanted to get and their roasted chicken takes an hour wait (which means we get freshly roasted chicken.) We ended up with a good lunch: beef/lamb gyro bowl, gyro sandwich, and hummus. Bro - the gyro bowl was BIG that I needed help from my husband to eat it. It was covered in white sauce, the meat slices were generous, and the rice was so nicely cooked and fluffy. My husband loved the gyro and was REALLY into the tzatziki. The hummus was so good, but it was much more than chickpeas. It was topped with an herb that I couldn't place, and I swear it had orange blossom in it. I absolutely look forward to their roasted chicken on our next visit! read more

My order Crunchy Chicken Shawarma wrap combo, 6 pc. lemon garlic wings, soda & Lemon Mint drink. Service The cashier was really nice and helpful but I had to ask for my soda that came with the combo & the shawarma sauce. You cannot substitute the fountain drink for the lemon mint. Food The shawarma was dry so make sure you ask for the sauce. I didn't taste the pomegranate sauce/ special sauce on the wrap. It was just ok. 10 fries is not worth $4. The chicken wings is medium size pieces not whole wings. They were tossed in a lemon garlic sauce & fried to a crispy. They were really good would recommend. I needed a little more sauce but that's my preference. The lemon mint drink was really good and highly recommend it. The flavor was like drinking cold pressed juiced green grapes with mint & a hint of lemon. I'm not sure if thats the recipe. My total was $30.18 Golden Chicken restaurant is just ok but not worth the 30 min drive for me. If I'm in the area maybe. read more

Maybe one of the best meals I've ever had. I got the chicken shawarma on the gluten free (!) wrap with the frozen lemon mint drink. Most of the food can be made gluten free just ask! Staff were super friendly and my food came out very fast. I will be back next time I'm in the area!!! read more

Last night we took our sons to a wing eating competition here. It was a great way to close out a very long stressful weekend. They loved the wings and the experience. While they were eating wings we ordered the whole rotisserie chicken plate which came with a whole chicken, pita bread, homemade hummus and rice. I don't even like hummus and loved every bit of this meal. We will all be back and I recommend if you haven't been here go check them out they are tucked in the little plaza where Walmart neighborhood market is on jungerman. read more

The lady at the counter sat at our table and walked us through the menu the customer service was excellent. Then the food, especially the hummus absolutely amazing and flavorful. We will be back. And we washed it down with the lemon drink . What a great lunch read more

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely doesn't look like much from the outside, but a plain decor hides some of the best Mediterranean food we have ever had![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Came in here by chance, but I'm so glad! The food was served lightning-quick, the staff is friendly, and they have fantastic food AND drink options. My favorites so far are the Chicken Shawarma, Baba Ghanouj, and Falafel. read more

Normally I wouldn't rate a restaurant based on a Grubhub delivery, but this food is so delicious I felt compelled to spread the word. The chicken kebab plate came with a generous serving of basmati rice, garlic sauce & pickles. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the garlic sauce and rice paired perfectly. And the falafel blew me away! Even after the car ride, they were so so crispy. Next time I will give this place the respect that it deserves and go to the restaurant instead of having it delivered. My only regret is that I didn't order the baklava. I won't make that mistake again. read more

I am not a St Charles County person one bit. Never have been and never will be one. For me to drive 30 minutes from St Louis to St Peters, this food had to be great. * Disclaimer : I already knew the food was great before my 1st visit. Someone brought food from here to Dar Jalal Masjid 3 months ago and I was able to try it. I didn't want my review to be based on food I didn't personally buy So ,I decide to make the journey out there. The restaurant is in a unassuming spot. Judging by the look of strip mall it is located in, one wouldn't think this mall would have this kind of hidden gem that sells delicious and flavorful food. Their food is halal. Customer Service: 5/5: It so nice to see employees who actually wanted to be act work. Even after I asked the employee 3 time to repeat the last thing he was asking me, he didnt get an atttiude. he just repeated it ( the tv and some machine noise was preventing me from hearing him clearly. He brought the food out to the customers that ate there smiled and thanked them. I got my to- go ( even though I ate half of it in my car outside the restaurant. He asked me if I needed napkins and utensils and thanked me ( they were not cheap on the utensils and napkins amount and quality wise) Beef Shawarma wrap 5/5: Juicy tasty and great. I've been trying to get out to Holden Chicken for awhile now. They had their first anniversary party in January and I hope to make it to their 2nd! The smells when you arrive are roasted meat heavenly. We started with bab ghanouj. It is tough tough to beat my favorite at red hots in chesterfield, but this was closest. The platters are sizeable. I could have taken half of mine home...but I didn't. I just ate until I was too full. Also they brought out some falafel for anyone in the restaurant. Now I'm not a huge falafel fan, it's just not my thing, so when I tell you I will be ordering them next time. You know they are good. Everyone was very friendly. There aren't too many places around that offer whole rotisserie chickens cooked to order at an affordable price. Walking in one can see whole chickens basting and spinning in the rotisserie oven and can immediately see an easy to read menu board displayed with a wide range of menu on a wall, in front of the register. The employee whom greeted me, was very friendly and allowed me to take my time scanning their menu prior to placing my to go order. I almost went for a wrap but made a last second change to the kebab mixed grill plate. After placing my order, the wait time was slightly longer than I expected. All of the meats were flavorful, however all of the meats were also dry and overcooked. The rice was something to accompany the variety of meats but the rice didn't add or take away from the meal, it was just rice. The tahini sauce wasn't for me. Tahini is an ingredient that I am not a huge fan of, but those who like tahini might enjoy their sauce. I found their salad to be a confusing sauce less mix of raw cabbage and tomatoes topped with pickled radish or pickled onion and some other type of pickled pepper. I really like this restaurants concept and brand of food. I would definitely return to try other items, my only suggestion (outside of the meat being dry/over cooked) is to add a couple dipping sauces other than tahini for the meats and to brighten up the rice and salad for their platters. read more

Recommended by a friend and did not disappoint! We tried half rotisserie chicken plate, chicken shawarma plate, chicken gyro and chicken wings. We also did falafel and hummus plates as appetizers. Everything was fresh, perfectly prepared and well-seasoned. Savory and delicious with ample portions and fair prices. Staff was friendly and attentive. Service was solid, friendly. Very good staff. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special. Very casual. It was actually a bit chilly with the A/C blasting so hard. My boyfriend literally said as I was gathering my stuff to leave, "Please hurry. I'm freezing to death." A bit melodramatic, but I was pretty cold too. Food was ok. I don't want to knock a restaurant down b/c I don't like their style or seasoning of food, but nothing really stood out to me as extremely delicious. Falafel just tasted like fried chickpeas, which isn't exactly wrong, but it didn't do much for me. My boyfriend had some chicken and steak, which he thought was solid. Basmati rice and hummus were my favorite sides. Pita tasted store-bought and was dry, not chewy and soft. Tzatziki salad was not as flavorful, bright, and refreshing as I was wanting to compliment the heavy fried-ness of the falafel. Food looked yummy and was ok. My boyfriend and I probably won't be back. It just wasn't our cup of tea. read more
