The name made me visualize fast service (order at a counter- eat at a table), but this tries to be full service. The food was very flavorful, but appetizer was served after the main meal meals were served. I appreciated the diced tomatoes dipping sauce vs ketchup... it upscaled the dish nicely. The fries were golden brown and tasty. The gyro was good. The black coffee was strong and hot. The place needs another server to increase the business during the lunch rush. The one waitress did a great job, but the place is large... for a couple of hours they could use another staff member. The kitchen staff needs more people. The falafel. And coffee should have been made first-then the sandwiches. I believe this was the because of skeleton crew idea of management. Even the entrance was not located under their sign, but located under a Hertz sign. Overall- the name sounds like a "fast-service casual" place, but owners never worked out the kinks yet. First time and definitely not the last time! Clean, decorative space upon entering. We were eating a very late lunch/early dinner at 3pm lol and there was no one else there. Once we arrived though, people starting coming in. There were probably 4-5 families for pick up and then 3-4 groups came to dine in during the span of time we were there and more just kept coming. I was craving falafel so I ordered the vegetarian plate so I could try a bit of everything. I read a review that said they had the best yalanji here and I COMPLETELY AGREE! My husband ordered the chicken schwarma sandwich in the pita and he INHALED IT. We also loved the fries too. It reminded me of halal guys. So addictive. I think it came with white sauce which was just as delicious. Wish I knew what was in it lol we were STUFFED, but we dined in so we could try the baklava ice cream sandwich and that did not disappoint. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it but it was so good. My stomach shifted to make space! Falafel was perfect but again, the yalanji was probably my favorite part. The location is in what is basically a strip mall and there is plenty of parking. You walk in and at first I didn't know if I needed to order at the front or if there were servers. There are servers and I would say this was the only negative about the place is that the servers were slow to greet us and come take our order. This is AUTHENTIC Mediterranean food and it was delicious. We got an order of hummus to share and it was very good, we also had enough pita (that came with it). Usually you don't get enough pita but that wasn't a problem here. My sister in law and I both got the gyro sandwich, mine without onions hers with onions. The portions were generous. The gyro meat was fantastic! It wasn't dry or crusty like you get at some other places. It was wasn't greasy which was fantastic! We both added feta and really enjoyed our sandwiches but couldn't finish they. They came with fried and those were delicious as well. My other sister in law got the mixed shawarma plate and she loved it. She thought everything on her plate was fantastic!! Came by on the whim on a Wednesday evening, and it was quiet and peaceful. They have an order at the counter or table service, and their menu is very extensive. The owners(?) were friendly, but service was a tad slow. Something that was strange was how our water appeared cups with smoothie/bubble tea lids that felt over the top and a waste. The food is absolutely amazing. The ambience and decor is on point and very beautiful, but their wait staff has zero personality. We go often , sometimes only ones in there . They act like they've never seen us before. Their food has always been 100% fresh and delicious . In this age of entertainment restaurant industry, they need to have a hostess or a greeter with personality that talks to people that walks around and welcomes people . We use to go to Salem's , the owner always came over and greeted us and said hello. We would bring large parties there and they always treated us like gold. read more

We were passing through while driving through St. Louis on a family trip. We wish we were local to come back to Mr. Pita. Staff was friendly and service efficient . The food was delicious!! My hubby had the gyro sandwich, I had Chicken shawarma pita and our daughter ( very picky) had the grilled chicken/rice kids meal. We left very full and happy that we stopped in. This place is a hidden gem! The girls that work there are absolutely amazing and have the sweetest personalities. The owner also came out and talked to us about the business and gave us a small sample of something to try for next time. We've been back three times and tell everyone about this place. If you like hot tea, definitely try their Arabic tea service. It's beautiful and served with the neatest presentation. The pistachio ice cream baklava pie is one of my favorite desserts ever. It was so unique that we gave it a try on our second visit and bought it again on our third time there. The mixed grill is large enough to share with two people and still have leftovers and the grape leaves were delicious. I loved the hummus, but my husband who isn't a huge hummus fan didn't care for it, but if you're like me and are a hummus fan I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The warm naan bread service is wonderful too. We had Mediterranean food before and Mr. Pita's menu provides all the dishes you would expect. Our server was very attentive and answered all questions about the menu. Great new place in Ofallon!!! We needed a Mediterranean spot. Stopped in today and so excited for the new addition. The inside is super cute- well decorated and a ton of seating! Lots of tables and booths- you could easily bring a large group here. You order at the front and then grab a seat. The lady behind the counter was very nice. We grabbed a seat and us + another couple were here at 6:30pm on a Monday. Food came out within 15-20 minutes and the portions were large! Food was delicious and fresh. Seasoned to perfection. If you aren't allergic to shellfish I highly recommend. I called ahead and asked if the food was prepared separately and the hostess/waitress did not understand what I meant. I ended up in the ER. I mostly blame myself. More training is needed to understand the seriousness of allergies. If someone tells you they are allergic it can't touch the pan or be cooked in the same oil. read more

Had lunch at Mr. Pita today for the first time. I trkes the Shish Tawook sandwich and my wife went with the Arabic Mixed Shawarma sandwich. Both were excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable (which isn't always the case these days at restaurants). Bonus points for offering Diet Dr. Pepper! Make sure you try the garlic sauce. Surprisingly when we got home, our food was still warm. Beef shawarma and rice was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. It came with pita shells. When I added everything together, it was tasted so good. The gyro was packed with lamb meat and came with an extra side of tzatziki sauce. It was one of the best gyro sandwiches we had in a while.
