I came in for a jacket to get cleaned and get rid of some stains. I even mentioned it first when I dropped it off. They say okay, and take it. I went in the next week to pick it up, for the stains to still be very clear there, as if they didn't bother to try and take it off. So I ask if they weren't able to? I clearly point to where they are. They say okay, take it again, and ask for me to come pick it up again a week later. I come in for the 2nd time, expecting the stain to be removed, for it only to still be very visible. I ask once again bout it, for only to say they weren't able to. They only thing I was confused about was they say they can take it off, after the couple times I already been there, and when I come to pick it up, don't bother telling me they weren't able to, but for me to find out about it when I go to see if there still there. I wish they would had just talked to me, stating they aren't able to, and explain, instead of wasting my time and taking it, for me expecting it to be actually cleaned. Mind you, the stain wasn't a food stain or anything that's really stuck in there, as I'm easily able to just rub at it a few times, and for it to fall off. When I show her that, she tells me to do it myself then and they can't do it. With the biggest attitude, cause I'm expressing confusion as to why they weren't able to. But the only reason why I'm there is because I'm paying for what I thought professionals to do it for me, but clearly I don't see any professionalism. For them to tell me to do it myself when I payed a full 20 bucks to see if they can do it for me. Just real bad attitude and unprofessional. I wouldn't bother coming here if you want something easily removed/ cleaned. read more

Reading reviews, I wasn't sure if this would be it, but as the husband's dress shirts stacked up, decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! I called this place to ask about their prices after seeing so many positive reviews. I needed a men's suit and a few pairs of work pants dry cleaned. Not sure who I spoke with on the phone, I am assuming it was Sue. My conversation on the phone: Me: Hi, I am just calling because I have two questions about pricing. How much do you charge for dry cleaning a men's suit? Her: $9.75 Me: Great! What about pants? Her: (Nasty tone) I am with a customer right now I cannot talk, I am busy. *click* LOL. Alrighty then. I guess you aren't looking for any new customers. And by the way.. it would have taken less time to just answer the question than telling me why you can't answer the question and how busy you are. I don't expect flowers and sunshine from my dry cleaner, but basic courtesy would be great. No need to be nasty. Will not be coming here, nor will anyone from my large family, all who have used this place for years. read more

My wife and I just moved apartments and in our house cleaning, we found some old clothes that we had one day long ago set aside to make adjustments to. We hadn't gotten around to doing it but once we found them again, we decided we should just bite the bullet and go get them altered. I'm really glad I did and especially happy I found Golden Cleaners. The husband and wife owners, Sue and Mr. Kim, are INCREDIBLY nice, helpful, and experienced. They were able to take care of the alterations really quickly and I was happy with the price as well. I had been a little bit skeptical of giving them my business at first because of the 3-star review but when I saw that it was only 4 reviews and 2 of them were old and from the time before this new family took over, I felt comfortable enough giving them a try. Lucky that I can't give a rating of 0. These people lie about the timing of your clothes being ready and don't tell you if you are missing an article of clothing until you calk them to argue the fact that you don't have everything. Then after we called back to stress that we didn't have everything they argued the point that at least we had what we picked up! Some kind of customer service! I will never go back to this place again! I discourage anyone from going to this place. If you want clean clothes on time and the whole order on time then don't give a dollar to this place. read more

You know those people in your life... the ones you see and make you smile no matter how crap a day you are having? For me, that is Sue and Yang Deok. Sue always shouts my name when I enter and her husband always wants to shake my hand...or "fight" me for who will cary the dry cleaning out to my car. Heck, I'm just dropping off my dirty clothes... no need to treat me like your long lost family member, right? But they do. Every time. I give something to Sue, she knows what to do. Something sewn, something tailored, a funny stain. Never a problem. Sometimes I keep my mouth shut and let Sue guess what my problem is. It's a game.... that I always lose. This woman is a dry cleaning Master Mind! I'm never less than thrilled. These are awesome people and I would gladly go miles out of my way to give them my business - because they make me smile. I don't like to write poor reviews but felt like I need to add my poor experience here. I dropped off clothes at this cleaners several times, each time not feeling like the clothes were fully clean. I pointed out a few items where there were spills and my prior cleaners would mark those areas to pre treat however they did not seem concerned, but charged me extra for those items. When picking up my items the stains were still there. I went home and checked my prior dry cleaning and noticed the same issue across most all my shirts from the prior drop offs. I asked them to re-clean and they were very argumentative and I believe ruined several of my shirts by pressing in stains. Very poor quality and customer service. read more

The owners were very friendly, prices pretty good, too. I brought a few pairs of jeans to be hemmed and they did a really good job.

I just started using Golden Cleaners in the last couple weeks and I love them! Apparently the shop recently got new managers and they've been perfect thus far. I found them because their store is on my way to O'hare. I work in consulting so it's super convenient for me to drop off my dry cleaning on my way to the airport and pick it up at the end of the week on my way home. The Kims are very sweet and I couldn't be happier with the job they've been doing. Definitely worth checking them out! read more

I had a suit I needed hemmed (pants and jacket) and I needed it done that day for a job interview the next. We had moved to the neighborhood a few months prior and I didn't know where to go. I called a few places and a couple didn't have a tailor/seamstress until Tuesday (this was a Monday) and one said they couldn't get it done that day. I live in Chicago and looked at options in the nearby burbs. Thankfully, I came upon Golden Cleaners! They answered the phone promptly and when I explained my situation was told it could be done that day. I drove the suit over about an hour later and was immediately helped. I went to work and got a phone call about 2-3 hours later that my suit was done! I wasn't expecting it until the end of the day.
