This is a small 'mom and pop' fast order Chinese restaurant in the strip mall near LA Fitness and DQ. I would say takeout orders are 95% of the business even though there are a few booths to sit and eat. The food isn't bad, it won't be authentic gourmet Chinese but its relatively inexpensive, they cook it fast, and you are out the door in 10 minutes. I had the Mongolian Beef dinner. I really liked the homemade eggrolls with genuine pork inside. There was too many onion fillers in the dish. If I do order this again, I would request half the onions and more red peppers for extra spiciness. read more

This is the worse food I've ever had in Charlotte. I spent almost $40 and took two bites of each meal, and threw it away. The chicken is CLEARLY cooked in old grease. After 5 years of searching, I finally found my go-to Chinese spot! Initially I was taken back by the low reviews but realized the one thing I like to eat was rated highly. Tonight I ordered boneless spare ribs combo with steam rice and crab Rangoon. To my surprise, an egg roll was included too (not sure if this is a norm or accident, either way I'm happy). The spare rib was plentiful and cooked well. The crab Rangoon was also delicious! I was stuffed by the time I got to the egg roll but the one bite, was also very tasty. I ordered to-go. I ordered 2 egg rolls, a small wonton soup, a pan fried dumpling, and the orange chicken with chicken lo mein instead of fried rice. The egg roll was average and crispy in the outside. It didn't taste greasy, which is always a good thing. The wonton soup had very little flavor and was suspiciously yellow like food dye had been added. The pan fried dumplings were fantastic! The included sauce had a hint of spice. The dumplings were a perfect consistency; they were clearly fried and the perfect balance of chew and not being soggy like most dumplings are. The dumplings were the highlight of the meal! The orange chicken was very sweet. The breaded chicken were large chunks and I didn't care for how large they were. I didn't like the broccoli garnish because it was raw. The lo mein was also great. I wasn't expecting large portion sizes and my spouse and I had enough for leftovers the next day. I will return again and try a different main dish and skip the wonton soup. read more

Horrible! I ordered mongolian beef, which came with fried rice. Also had the lemon pepper wings. I had a few pieces of beef in this container of full of onions and chestnuts. My rice was bland with none of the things that should be in "fried rice" (egg, veggies, etc). Looked nothing like the rice in customers photos! Typically I'm discouraged by places with 3 stars or less; however, my dude previously ordered the boneless spare ribs and fried rice and really liked it. So when he had a taste for Chinese food for dinner, I decided to go along. And I'm. Glad. I. Did. Rather than order my usual shrimp egg foo young, I decided to go with an oldie but a goodie; veggie mu shu. Ugh! So good. The flavor was really on point. I loved the snow peas and broccoli. Next time I'll get it without the big mushrooms. Not a huge fan of fungus, but I can tolerate the slivers that typically comes with this dish. I don't use the "pancakes" or the sauce that comes with it to make little wraps. I wouldn't be surprised if it's good but just never been a fan of building my Chinese food. It's enough food for two meals though, if you aren't greedy... or extremely famished. Now the steamed dumplings... the flavor is really good and the sauce that accompanies it is as well; however I had to deduct one star because the dough is EXTREMELY thick. I ordered General Tso's Chicken and got home and discovered I had a dish more resemblant of orange chicken. As expected, the phone was passed to the owner/manager who quickly explained that I had the correct dish, because they don't have orange chicken on the menu and they use the same sauce for sesame chicken. The dish was orange and General's Chicken is brown. I was not going to engage any further. If I had lived closer, I would have returned just out of principle. Ccannot recommend. I love duck and it's hard to find in Chinese restaurants i the south. BUT they use MSG and sugar in every single dish. They will tell you they can make it without - but then another person informs every single dish they make has both! Research MSG side effects - headaches - hart pain and heart palpitations (all of which I experienced every time on the nights I I ate their food - ate there a number of times until I realized that was the reason - when I stopped - the symptoms stopped. Did not appreciate the dishonesty that they could do dishes without msg and sugar - but then you taste the sugar and then you have the msg symptoms. Some of their basics are not good (when they are good at most Chinese restaurants) (1) like pork fried rice (gross - threw it out (the rice was white unlike the brown colored delicious fried rice in their combo dishes) . (2) Ttheir wonton soup tastes like water - the wontons are dough with nothing in them - the soup crispy noodles have no taste at all though the texture is nice - never saw Chinese soup noodles like that). If you're not picky about how your meat taste or how fatty it is, then this is the place for you. My meal had chicken and beef in it. That was the most disgusting crap I've ever eaten. The beef was chewy. It had been the lowest grade of meet I've ever eaten. I was going to get the beef ribs but that was the reason I didn't get them was because they may be too fatty or too chewy. The vegetable mei fun had a nice amount of veggies and was not overly oily as some noodle dishes can be. The fried dumplings were bigger than I'd ever seen dumplings, but tasted delicious, and the dipping sauce was perfect. Crab Rangoon was fine--nothing outstanding, but as good as many others I've tried. Not sure when I'll get to order again, since I was here visiting family, but I definitely would if I make it back for another visit. The food's good, they deliver (within 5-miles and a $12 minimum), a meal for one gives plenty to eat (you will have leftovers the next day unless you're an overindulgent pig, you're sharing with someone, or you just don't like leftovers). It's your standard Chinese restaurant, all of the different entrees that I have ever ordered have been decent. I always get a combination plate so it comes with fried rice and an egg roll. The fried rice that they serve with your main entree is ONLY rice and the egg they used when they fry it. There are no vegetables or pork or anything how most other Chinese restaurants serve their standard fried rice. It doesn't bother me, but others may be surprised by it. You can order online now. I always worried about showing up and them "not getting my order" but have not had any issues with ordering online which is very convenient. It's on the Beyond Menu app or website. Is this the best Chinese restaurant in the area? No.. but is it the best Chinese restaurant that delivers in the area? Definitely. If you want a Chinese take out in the University area that has better than average food and speedy service this is definitely the one to choose. Now with online ordering as well? Even better. I've only ever ordered food delivered from them (never eaten in the restaurant) but the majority of times the food was good. I've tried others that deliver in the area (with decent Yelp ratings) and was always disappointed by things like mushy overcooked rice and lukewarm food at best. For this area of the city? Due to having weight loss surgery I cannot eat a lot of rice and pasta. Most Chinese restaurants will substitute and up charge the difference.
