I have not been to a Golden Corral since my early 20's. Now that's a REALLY long time. My boss took us here for lunch and I was blown away with the food. So much to eat and hard to choose from because you can only eat so much. They have at least 4 stations. Salad bar, pasta, fried foods, hamburger, hot dogs, tacos, entrees (roast beef, ham, fried chicken, meat loaf) and desserts. You name it, they serve it. There is something for everyone. Steak is extra cost. The stations are kept clean and fresh. Everthing I ate, I loved. Especially the potatoes with the pot roast. So good. Pricing is very reasonable and plus we received great service. Buffets are not my thing, but I left full and happy. I would definitely return. read more

I truly have never experienced anything like this and I am not one to complain, but they gave me absolutely nothing positive to work with to not make this message. The quality of the food was not good, especially how much we ended up paying there's no reason we couldn't have taken our money elsewhere budget wise. My little sister went to use the restroom five out of the six stalls were unavailable either out of order or covered in feces as well as puke in the garbage can as you walk in and stand there to wait for the one stall that actually works.... read more

My family and I visited the Golden Corral at 4394 Glen Este-Withamsville Road on November 12, 2025, and I discovered a roach in my salad. We informed the manager, but the only response from him was, "I'm sorry, we'll remove it from the bar," and then he walked away. There was no offer to comp my drink or meal, or provide a voucher for a future visit--even though I wouldn't return to this location, as it has the lowest rating. Any gesture at all would have shown better customer care. I also contacted the corporate office afterward, but I never received a response. I truly expected more better service from Golden Corral. read more

I had not been to a Golden Corral in probably 20 years. My friend invited us to join them after a special event and we wanted to join them so with some apprehension, we joined them at around 11am on a Sunday morning. When we entered, it was busy but the hostess sat our group of 20 in a room separate from the crowded seating area. You could tell that the staff was experienced and friendly. My goal was not to over eat but difficult to do with so many choices and all food groups. I certainly had the option of eating totally healthy. The fruit snd veggies were fresh and the cooked veggies were not over cooked. The veggies were not too salty or seasoned So many choices of meat, veggies, salads and toppings, breads, cooked vegetables, and desserts non stop. I would definitely return to this location I would say my only complaint is that the tables were so close to the buffet area that it was difficult to move through to get in/ out or to the buffet. Ok. Ya gotta do what your grandson want to do! This is the 'BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD' per my 6 year old grandson (so it HAS to be true). What all three of them likes is that the food is set up so they can see what's there and then choose what they want! It's one of the few times they get to choose it all. They all, including me, enjoy the mashed potatoes and corn, we love the meat loaf at this specific place and the shrimp was very good. My middle g-son (4) can't wait to get the broccoli which he always takes an entire plate of and eats it all. Of course the desserts are very special. The all love the chocolate fountain and especially like the rice crispy chunks and strawberries to dip in the chocolate. They also love the ice cream and sprinkles bowls. We try to get in 2-3 times per year for a Sat breakfast. The omelets, biscuits and gravy are quite good and ending with donuts or sweet breads are the treat of the day. It's always too much food but giving the boys the chance to pick their own is special and makes grandpa 'King of the Day' and we all need that! Called to see what time breakfast was over, the man who answered I could tell immediately was rude.. we got there and stood in-line to pay for the buffet and I assume the same man who answered rue phone was running the register because he was rude.. he double charged the couple infront of us and had to go get someone to help I guess.. we sat down and the server gave us drinks.. I was not offered coffee so I asked for it .. she brought it to me and She never came back to our table.. another worker came in who was nice and I walked up to the server station and asked her for a straw and spoon. The other guests generally are older and many of them are overweight with health issues (like slow lumbering walks). This golden corral used to be the best. Everything was fresh and clean, the staff was kind and helpful. They updated the bar & changed a few things. There is a larger variety, but smaller containers which means they need to be filled more often. The change was not for the better. The place is filthy.There is food smeared in the seats and on the walls. Kids put their hands in the containers drop things on the flour and put them back on the bar. Staff it's sloppy and they walk past food that has been dropped on the floor. Food containers remain empty for some time. Overall, the steak was cooked to perfection. My salad was great once I asked for the romaine lettuce to be replenished. I don't think I will be returning for awhile. There's a little more germs than I'm ready to deal with for an $11 meal. read more

Important: review is based off Thanksgiving dinner at GC. I was expecting there to be quite a crowd at 4pm on Thanksgiving Day and I was right. However, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. With a line out the door, we moved quickly to the front. Our wait was only about 20 minutes. Not bad. $13.99 per adult from 10am-8pm. The hostess was very nice and got our party of 8 including highchair seated as soon as she could. The crowd was insane. After the line to get in, there was a line for the food. People got very grumpy if you tried to just push through, grab one thing from the buffet and go. The attitude of the customers was the worst part of the visit. The actual buffet line moved fairly quick but the selection was hit and miss. Most things were low. Some things had the unsightly hair sticking in it (buffet probs). The turkey was self carve and had little meat left on it and the stuffing & ham was completely gone. Sad face. The steak was awesome. Yeast rolls were killer good. Mac and cheese lacked. Again, Thanksgiving Dinner at GC, can't have high expectations. However, the service was great. Plates and silverware were always stocked, we always had refills without asking, dirty plates were picked up quick, the waitress even entertained my toddler when she came to the table. Everyone working was awesome, no complaints. If you're thinking of Thanksgiving Dinner at GC for next year, I wouldn't say yes or no. So earlier today my wife, and daughter, and myself went here to eat. I have not had this place in forever, we walked in and got said hello to super fast. The food was okay was not super. The store was well kept and clean. But I guess the only flaw I seen here was the snooty attitude coming from some of the employees there. There was a manager working the front desk with someone else. I was asked if I wanted or needed cash for a tip I said yes $5 the kid went to ring it up and I went back to my table. My wife asked me did you get the five bucks I said no I'll go ask about it. I get to the desk and the manager acted like I was bugging him. You can tell he was pissed because I had a question. First things first, remember that this is a chain buffet restaurant. We're not talking fine dining here. You go into Golden Corral (or any buffet place) with the understanding that quantity usually takes precedence over quality. That said, the food here is pretty good. I always start with a salad and if you do the same, then you're in luck. The salad bar is pretty stacked. With all types of traditional salad items as well as Caesar salad, pasta salads, and fruit salads, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The entrée section is also pretty impressive. I've always enjoyed the various chicken choices that are offered, as well as the pork offerings, brisket and pot roast. However I would say avoid the meatloaf as it's always been a bit iffy whenever I've tried it. The sides are what really gets my mouth watering; mashed potatoes covered in brown gravy with mushrooms, corn on the cob, rice, sautéed mushrooms, a good smattering of vegetables, and of course mac & cheese. Of all the different buffet places I've been, this is the only one where the mac & cheese actually tastes good. The desserts are always good (you really can't screw that up). And of course nothing beats the rolls with the honey butter. It's also worth mentioning that the staff is very courteous, and unlike other buffets, they actually still pay attention to you after you first sit down. I agree with the earlier review; give your a server a good tip. Again, if you're looking for fine dining, this isn't the place. Over 30 dollars for two meals...bland food. Cold food. Gross food. There were a FEW items that were good but not for 13.99 a piece. It used to be so much better over 10 years ago. Rolls used to be fresh and brought to your table...now they sit in a big metal container and are cold. Steak is NOT cooked properly. Just avoid steak here. There were items that looked scary to eat. I'm not sure what kinda chocolate fountain they think that is but I might as well just bring my own bottle of dollar store syrup. If it was a lot cheaper it would be understandable but at this price point I expected more. I'll gladly hunt down a Ponderosa next time. Don't waste your time or money. read more

At register I was told I couldn't purchase a coffee and sit with my paying family if you're not eating. Spoke to the manager who was incredibly rude and said I had to pay for buffet or leave. I have yet to eat here and not get sick. Why have I eaten here more than once? Well, it's right next to my mom's place and she needs soft food. And I block past experiences after a year or so. The restrooms are filthy, and there is usually a line for the stalls, which should tell you something. I don't generally expect much from buffet food. You don't go to a chain buffet for gourmet food. The only reason I ate here at all, is it was my aunts birthday and this is where the party was held. However this place takes your low expectations and thoroughly disappoints. The food is so completely disappointing, the service is mediocre and management certainly doesn't care. Over the years this place has just gotten worse. It tastes and appears that recipes have changed and not for the better. My family and I went about 2 weeks ago over $44 for two adults and a 5 year old. The food was cold and flavorless. The floors are nasty and the bathrooms are horrible. The signature rolls are seriously lacking they are kept at the bar and get hard quickly as well as the signature honey butter is now on the bar but it tastes horrible like oil and water. I do enjoy the salad bar and staff is normally friendly (waitresses only) but even the dessert bar is lacking it taste. My kids asked to go to Golden Corral and I acquiesced, even though I've avoided it for years. What a mistake. First off, it was a million degrees in there. Secondly, nearly everything was cooked or charred to within an inch of its life. The poor broccoli had been boiled until all traces of green and sustenance had bled out, and the steak I had ordered medium rare was charred leathery grissle. I was excited to try what looked like sauteed mushrooms and onions next to the steak station, but alas, they were just raw mushrooms with a coating of... oil? ...Margarine? Jury's still out on this one. After several attempts with different foods, my children & I gave up. My son had a chicken tender, and my daughter & I had a roll. I was at my witts end & we all just wanted to get out of there. I paid $30 for a chicken tender & 2 rolls, but it was far too hot in there for us to stick around to complain. The food is average at best and I use to go here for lunch quite a bit because I work down street and it was ten dollars per person. Now they charge fifteen dollars per plate and granite they now have a bigger variety of options now but it doesn't warrant the five dollar price hike. You go to longhorn steakhouse and get a steak dinner for twenty dollars or more that will absolutely blow your mind. I would go to golden corral because it was reasonably priced then and I could relax while on my lunch break but now I'll just save a few bucks and go to the fast food places down the road. read more

I don't have much money, so when I have to drop down $30 plus whatever I tip the waitress, I do expect to get a good meal. In this case, I did not. I came in with my parents yesterday, I got some sliders, fried shrimp, fried chicken, bourbon street chicken and well... that was about it. There wasn't really much to choose from and they were being pretty bad about restocking. Biting into the fried chicken.. it was super dry.
